Islamabad Padel Association Convenes Executive Committee Meeting
Islamabad (PR): The Islamabad Padel Association (IPA) successfully held its first Executive Committee meeting today in Islamabad to discuss strategic developments, future events and the overall promotion of padel in the region.The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Association Mubeen Arif Jutt and Presided by the President Sohaib Hassan and attended by senior office-bearers including the Vice President Amin Ul Hafeez, Women Vice President Sahiba Anwar, General Secretary Abdul Jabbar and Treasurer Fahad Ali. Meeting started with the recitation of the holy Quran followed introduction of the newly elected members and welcome address by the President. Key items on the agenda included the discussion on the structing of the association, finalization of upcoming tournament schedules, infrastructure challenges in the twin cities, establishment of local committees, activity calendar and collaboration opportunities with local and international entities to encourage padel in the city.In his opening remarks, the President of the Association highlighted the rapid growth of padel in Pakistan, especially among youth in the capital and emphasized the need to enhance the sport’s visibility and access at all levels. He thanked Pakistan Padel Federation for ensuring merit in formation of body in Islamabad region.The Chairman added that currently padel seems to be a sport for ‘elites’ it should be promoted and developed in such a way that it should be accessible for all classes of the society. Only then we will be able to bring out the true talent in this sport for our country.Speaking after the meeting, General Secretary Abdul Jabbar said, “This session marks an important step in our mission to establish Islamabad as a national hub for padel. The Executive Committee is committed to building a sustainable and inclusive framework for the game’s future.”

Pakistan Celebrates World Olympic Day
 ISLAMABAD(PR): Pakistan marked World Olympic Day 2025 with a vibrant and spirited celebration at Rawal Lake, reflecting the nation’s strong commitment to the Olympic values of unity, excellence, and friendship.Under the umbrella of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), the event was hosted by the Islamabad Olympic Association (IOA). The celebration was attended by prominent Olympians including Sadaf Siddiqui, Ahmad Ali, and Liaquat Ali; IOA Secretary General and Chairman of the Pakistan Rowing Federation Rizwan ul Haq Razi; Army Sports Directorate officials Major Irfan Younis and Major Naveed; as well as national athletes, children, and guests from diverse walks of life.To mark the occasion, a walk and a lively "fun run" were held, with enthusiastic participation from children. A specially designed Olympic-themed cake, featuring the iconic Olympic rings, was also cut to commemorate the day.Celebrated globally on June 23 each year, Olympic Day honors the founding of the modern Olympic Games, first held in Paris in 1894. It serves as a worldwide reminder of the Olympic ideals and encourages the promotion of sports, physical fitness, and unity through inclusive community engagement.Across Pakistan, thousands participated in a variety of activities organized to celebrate the day, including fun runs, cultural performances, exhibitions, music events, tree plantation drives, beach clean-up campaigns, and educational seminars.The Pakistan Olympic Association continues to observe Olympic Day annually, reinforcing its commitment to the Olympic Movement and the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles and inclusivity through sport.

Sports vital to promote discipline along-with mental, physical growth: VC
LAHORE: (PR): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Ali has said that sports competitions play a role in promoting discipline among students along with mental and physical development. He was addressing at the prize distribution ceremony of the 124th Intercollegiate Championships 2024-25 organized by the Punjab University Sports Department. The ceremony was attended by PU Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar, Dean Faculty of Law Dr Shazia Noreen Qureshi, Principal Oriental College Dr Nabila Rehman, Principal Hailey College of Commerce Prof Dr Hafiz Zafar Ahmed, social worker Raja Munawar, various heads of government and private colleges, faculty members and a large number students. In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Ali said that the Quaid-e-Azam’s statement that faith, unity and discipline are the guarantee of a successful life. He said that the success in the recent Operation Banyan Marsus is also a clear proof of the unity and discipline of the nation. Dr Shabbir Sarwar said that we will soon organize a talent hunt program from colleges so that more good talent emerges at the divisional and university levels. He said that under the leadership of Dr Mohammad Ali, the Department of Sports of Punjab University will continue to play its role in the promotion of sports. Later, the Vice Chancellor presented souvenirs to the successful players.

PCB Dedicates Pakistan Super League to Brave Armed Forces
Rawalpindi(Sports Bulletin Report):The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the dedication of the Pakistan Super League to the valiant Armed Forces of Pakistan.In a statement they said that We proudly dedicate the Pakistan Super League to our brave Armed Forces who continue to safeguard the nation's integrity with courage and commitment.According to the PCB, today’s matches and ceremonies will honor the Pakistan Army, while tomorrow will be dedicated to the Pakistan Navy, and Monday to the Pakistan Air Force.The decision has been widely welcomed by fans and the cricketing community as a tribute to the sacrifices and unwavering service of the Armed Forces.

Islamabad Olympic Association Holds Executive Committee Meeting
Islamabad (Mohammad Azam Dar):The Executive Committee meeting of the Islamabad Olympic Association was held at a local hotel, Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Begum Ishrat Ashraf, President of the Association. The meeting brought together key office bearers including Mohammad Sarwar Rana, Senior Vice President; Rizwan ul Haq, Secretary General; Ijaz ul Haq, Treasurer; and members of the Executive Committee.The primary agenda of the meeting was Islamabad’s preparation and participation in the upcoming National Games, scheduled to be held in Karachi in May 2025. JLA donates oldest sport Lacrosse equipment to Pakistan
Islamabad (PR): The Japan Lacrosse Association (JLA) has donated equipment to the Pakistan Lacrosse Federation (PLF) under the Sports Diplomacy Program. It should be noted that lacrosse is an ancient team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. It is the oldest organized sport in North America.On this occasion, Japan’s Deputy Chief of Mission Takano Shochi appreciated the rapidly growing popularity of lacrosse in Pakistan and said that the PLF has taken Pakistan lacrosse to a unique position in Asia by organizing more than 150 activities and two national championships in a year, the results will soon be come in the form of international medals.He assured that Japan would continue its full support in the promotion of lacrosse. It may be recalled that the Lacrosse Association and National Academy in Pakistan have been established under the auspices of the Pakistan Lacrosse Federation in Islamabad.The chief guest of the event was the Deputy Chief of Mission of Japan Takanoshuchi, while the Consul of the Japanese Embassy Takane Kazumasa, Cultural Advisor Rafi Haleem, Secretary General of Pakistan Lacrosse Federation Engineer Taifur Zareen, Assistant Professor of FCE Zahid, Urooj Jahangir other faculty members, Finance Secretary of Islamabad Lacrosse Irfan Khan and other office bearers and senior players Gul Pari, Sawira Khan, Fawzia Parveen, Muqaddas and other officials attended.

Inter-Provincial Quaid-e-Azam Games 2024: Punjab clinch title
Punjab athletes claim 79 gold medals, 52 silver and 42 bronze medals, KPK win second positionIslamabad (SBR): Punjab contingent with 173 medals including 79 gold medals, 52 silver and 42 bronze medals, won the week-long Inter-Provincial Quaid-e-Azam Games’ title that concluded here at Pakistan Sports Complex on Thursday. Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Nadeem Irshad Kiani was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Yasir Pirzada, Additional Secretary IPC Zahoor Ahmed, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Director Admin Dr Mohammad Kaleem, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum and other officials were also present at the closing ceremony.Secretary IPC Nadeem Irshad Kiani presented the winning trophy to Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry and the other members of Punjab contingent. Punjab athletes, with 79 gold medals broke their own record of 74 medals, they achieved in the 2017 edition of Quaid-e-Azam Games

Quaid-e-Azam Games: Punjab maintain top position with 77 gold medals
Abdul Jabbar FaisalIslamabad: ThePunjab’s athletes maintained their to position on the penultimate day of the ongoing 3rd Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games 2024 with 77 gold medals in different sports disciplines, as the mega sports event is being organized by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB)>Punjab secured a total of 163 medals, including 77 gold, 50 silvers, and 36 bronze. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earned 90 medals, comprising 24 gold, 29 silvers, and 37 bronze. Sindh won 70 medals, including 14 gold, 25 silvers, and 31 bronze, while Balochistan claimed 60 medals, with 14 gold, 15 silver, and 31 bronze. Islamabad achieved 53 medals, consisting of 5 gold, 11 silver, and 37 bronze. Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir secured 22 and 26 medals, respectively.Director General PSB, Yasir Pirzada said that all units collectively won a total of 137 gold, 137 silver, and 210 bronze medals, making a grand total of 484 medals.He appreciated the outstanding performance of the athletes, emphasizing that these results reflect a positive development in the promotion of sports and the enhancement of young athletes’ skills in the country.The DG further added that the government and Pakistan Sports Board are committed to providing more facilities and opportunities for athletes so they can bring glory to Pakistan on international platforms. Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games to commence on Saturday at Pakistan Sports ComplexIslamabad (By Abdul Jabbar Faisal): The 3rd edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games 2024 will get underway on Saturday (December 14) here at Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), as the unveiling trophy ceremony took place on Friday in a colourful ceremony.The trophy was unveiled by Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist, Arshad Nadeem, who expressed his enthusiasm and encouragement for the young athletes during the event. The ceremony was also attended by the Director General PSB Yasir Pirzada. The grand opening ceremony of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games will take place on Saturday at the PSB. Arshad Nadeem said on this occasion: "This is a major step towards the promotion of sports in Pakistan. It will provide young athletes with an excellent opportunity to showcase their talents, and I am hopeful that this platform will produce international-level players for the country."DG, PSB Yasir Pirzada said: "The purpose of this event is to highlight the existing sports talent in the country and provide them with opportunities to grow.
