Momna declares best athlete: Peace College wins Inter-College Games Trophy
Ayaz Raza Afridi PESHAWAR:-Momna of Girl College Peace Group of School and College declared as the fastest athlete while her college clinched the overall trophy of the District Charsadda Inter-College Games held at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex Charsadda on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Saadat Hassan was the chief guest on this occasion who gave away cash prizes and trophies to the position holders. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali Shah, District Sports Officer Tehseen Ullah Khan, International athlete Inam Ullah Khan, Principal Peace School and Group of Colleges Shams-ul-Munir, Principal Girls College Parang Nighat, College Girls Dargai Rabia, Principal Tangai College Sajida, Principal New Principal Roheena, Girls College Dargai Suria and Games incharge Nousheen, players and officials were also present. Momna Khan of Peace Girls College won gold medal in 100m, 400m and silver medal in 200m and was declared best athlete of the Year-2021. Zebunisa of Peace College claimed the gold medal in 200m, Momna of the same took the silver medal and Eshal of Peace College took the bronze medal. In the 400m, Momna claimed the gold medal, followed by Zebunisa and Eshal. In the shot put HIna of Girls College Tangi took gold medal, followed by Uzma of Dargai Girls College took silver medal and Shehla of Girls College Charsadda got bronze medal. In the Discus throw Uzma of Dargai Girls College took the gold medal, followed by Aneela of Tangi College and Saima of Tangi College took the bronze medal. In Javelin throw Saima of Girls College Tangi took the gold medal, followed by Uzama of Girls College Dargai and Shehlah and Shaheen took the bronze medal. In the 4X100m relay Peace College team comprising Momna, Zebunisa, Eshal and Javeria took took first position, followed by Girls College Tangi team including Haseena, Hina, Aneela and Shaheen and Girls College Tajo Bibi Charsadda won third position with the team including Saima, Shehlah, Anum and Lubna. In the other Games the Peace Group of School and College defeated Peace A team in the badminton final by 3-1, in the Table Tennis event the Peace Group of School and College defeated Girls College Tajo Bibi, Charsadda, in the Tug of War the Peace College won first position, followed by Girls College Dargai and in the Volleyball Girls College Parang took first position, followed by Peace College team. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes of Rs. 6000 for the first position holders and Rs. 4000 for the runners-up and Rs. 3000 for the third position holders. In the Individual events including Athletic the gold medal winner was given Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 for silver medal and Rs. 1000 for the bronze medals.

WAPDA "B" wins All Pakistan Women's Basketball Championship
ISLAMABAD (Sports Report):-WAPDA "B" won the title of All Pakistan Women's Basketball Championship after beating WAPDA “A” in the final 8-2, as the fixture was organized by Pakistan Basketball Federation and 12 teams participated in the three-day three-a-side championship. In the final of the tournament, WAPDA "B" won the tournament by defeating WAPDA "A" by 8 points to 7 after a tough contest. Earlier in the semi-final round, WAPDA "B" defeated SA Garden 7-10 while WAPDA "A" defeated Frank Five Club 4-11. Government College University Vice Chancellor Prof. Asghar Zaidi was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the tournament and distributed prizes among the players. On the occasion, Secretary General of Pakistan Basketball Federation Khalid Bashir also announced to hold Mahmood Butt Memorial All Pakistan Three A Side Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament from January 10.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organizes Christmas Sports and Cultural Gala
Ayaz Raza Afridi PESHAWAR (December 26, 2021):-The Department of Tourism, Culture, Sports, Archeology, Museums and Youth Affairs in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority organized a Christmas Sports Gala under the aegis of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority for the Christian community. Member Provincial Assembly Wilson was the special guest along with Pastor Tariq Mahmood, former members Provincial Assembly on this eve. The Christmas Sports Gala was attended by a large number of Christian communities from Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Landi Kotal, Khyber, Ghalani and Mohmand. Table tennis, musical chair, khattak dance, musical band, tablo, chakra pe chakra and music competitions were part of the gala. Addressing the gala, Member Provincial Assembly Wilson Wazir said: “We we are grateful to the Department of Tourism, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Culture and Tourism Authority and others for organizing these activities including sports gala and music on the occasion of Christmas for the Christian community.” The event was attended by families including youth from different districts including Peshawar. The ceremony also paid tribute to the victims of Kohati St. John's Church blast and cut a Christmas cake at the end of the ceremony.

Rope skipping coaching course concludes
Lahore (Sports Report):-The 2- day International Rope Skipping Coaching Course 2021 concluded at City School DHA Campus, Lahore. USA Skipper's Alisha Junior World Record Holder and Mishal Junior World Record demonstrated Rope Skipping and particular training session to players and coaches. Overall Pakistan 60 participates from Karachi, Lahore, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkawa and Islamabad attended course. Chairman, Pakistan Rope Skipping Federation (PRSF) Main Mohammad Afzal Director General Admin Lahore and DG WAPDA Sports Board, Mushraff Khan were the chief guests and distributed certificates to all the participants. President PRSF Maqbool Arain, Vice Presidents, Asghar Anjum and Col. Wasif, Secretary, Shariq Siddqui were also present on the occasion.

All Pakistan 3X3 Basketball Tournaments 2021
Lahore (Sports Report):-The Lahore Division Basketball Association announced that the Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi (TI) Vice Chancellor (GCU) All Pakistan 3X3 Men and Women Basketball Tournaments would be held at Government College University (GCU) Lahore under the supervision of Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF). According to an official, the Men's Basketball tournament will be held from 21th to 23rd December, 2021 while the Women Basketball tournament will be conducted from 27th to 29th December, 2021. The departmental basketball players only can play from their departments and Divisional basketball players will only be allowed to play from their respective club.

Combaxx Sports plays a pivotal role in promoting sports
Karachi (Sports Report):-Combaxx Sports General Manager Zubair Macha has said that youth are our future and by promoting sports at grass-root level, we can produce world-class players to win laurel for the country at national and international level. Speaking at the opening ceremony of SSA Quaid-e-Azam Day Softball Festival as chief guest at Trinity Girls School and College Ground, he said that his organization has been playing a pivotal role in unearthing new talent by patronizing sports and sportsmen and these efforts will be further accelerated with the passage of time to make a difference on the sports front. Softball Federation of Pakistan Chairperson Tehmina Asif, Sindh Softball Association President Waseem Hashmi, Secretary Mohammad Zeeshan Merchant, Finance Secretary Murad Hussain, Chairman Coaching Committee Faraz Aijaz, and a number of other sports organizers were also present on the occasion. The Combaxx Sports GM said that school and college-level sports are a must for promoting any sports and he hoped that the current softball tournament was dedicated to the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah at this educational institution will promote talent among youngsters. He lauded the holding of the softball tournaments at the school and college level and hoped that such events will definitely help provide opportunities to youth to horn their skills and shine into gems.   He said that Combaxx Sports plays a pivotal role in promoting sports at the national and international level by providing quality sports goods to youth at reasonable and affordable prices so that they can avail and utilize world-level sports goods to be at par with international players. Later, Jinnah IX easily overcame Quaid-e-Millat IX 12-8 in the inaugural match of the day. Highlights of the match were the good display of talent by Ammara, Fareesha, and Nida, who scored 3 runs each. In the second match of the day, Iqbal IX beat Fatima Jinnah IX 13-11 runs after a sensational contest.  Zara, Ayesa, Mursaleen and Farah Khan scored two runs each for the winners. For the losing side, Hira Mughal, Samina Haris, and Muneea Farhan scored two runs each.

WAPDA claim 7 gold medal in wrestling competitions
LAHORE (Sports Report):-WAPDA’s wrestlers showed their physical strength and power during the two-day national wrestling fixture and got top position. Army spotted on second place while Railway remained third. Hosts Higher Education Commission (HEC) claimed fourth position. Naseem Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary Sciences; Javed Memon, Director Sports, Higher Education and Chaudhry Mohammad Mubeen, President, Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) were the special guests. In this championship, the Army team surprisingly did not get any gold. At the end, Pakistan WAPDA grabbed Seven Gold, One Silver, One Brown, Pakistan Army, Six Silver, Four Browns, and Pakistan Railways won couple of gold medals. At the end, the players and former wrestlers appreciated the management of the University of Veterinary Sciences for the excellent organization of the championship. Rana Majda was the director of sports at the university.

Zulfiqar Ghumman: New president of PMPA
LAHORE (December 13, 2021):-The elections of Punjab Modern Pentathlon Association (PMPA) held on Monday, as House elected Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman as the president of PMPA for the term of next 4-years. Rao Shahid Qayyum was elected Senior Vice-President, Ch Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Amir Raza Khan, Tahir Mahmood Vice-Presidents, Mohammad Ashfaq Secretary General, Amir Shah Finance Secretary, Kaleemullah Farooqi Associate Secretary and Oksana Lyman was elected as Chairperson Women Wing. The members of Governing Body are: Sana Arshad, Khawar Mateen, Shah Muhammad, Qaiser Ali and Mohammad Sajid. (Press Release).

Faraz Aijaz and Ayesha Aijaz claim top positions
Sports Report Lahore (December 13, 2021):-Faraz Aijaz and Ayesha Aijaz of Softball Federation of Pakistan topped in the Empowering Athletes Seminar’s Quiz competitions that held  under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) by winning the first positions held in Lahore. Faraz Aijaz on the first day of the Seminar participating in sports medicines and injuries quiz gained 92.86 points under 1 minute and 29 seconds to grab the first position whereas Javeria Ahmed of Tug of War got second and Mutaiba Arif from Gymnastics got the third position respectively. Ayesha Aijaz in competition manipulation in sports gaining 100 points in 1 minute and 15 seconds grabbed the first position; Sundas and Dawood Baig from Wushu Federation got second and third place. President POA lt. General (Retd) Syed Arif Hassan, POA Vice President Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob, and Secretary General Khalid Mahmood presented honorary shields and gifts to the position winning athletes in the quiz competition.
