Asia/Oceania WJT U14: Pakistani teenagers claim 6th position
Japan win top position while India earn second position in a 16-nation fixtureSports Bulletin ReportKuching (Malaysia): The Pakistan team comprising Jawad Omer, Talha Abubakar, and Mohammad Hamza Ali Rizwan got the 6th position in the Asia /Oceania WJT Under-14 final qualifying event, which was held in Kuching Malaysia from March 25 to 30, 2024. Heera Ashiq was with the team as non-playing captain.As many as 16 countries of the region participated in the 6-day World Junior Tennis (WJT) fixture. Japan won the top position while Indian players remained on the second stop. Jawad Omer, and Talha Abubakar produced some notable performances in the international event.

Pakistan to participate in Asia/Oceania U14 U Final Qualifying Event
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan Under-14 tennis team will participate in the Asia/Oceania WJT Under-14 Final Qualifying Event, which will be rolled into action on March 25 in Kuching, Malaysia.According to an official of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Abubakar Talha, Omar Jawad, and Mohammad Hamza Ali Rizwan will represent in the 5-day international juniors tennis fixture while Heera Ashiq will be the non-playing captain.

Salim Saifullah hands over PTF charge officially to Aisam-ul-Haq
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Senator Salim Saifullah Khan handed over the PTF charge to Aisam ul Haq Qureshi, who was elected President-PTF in the recently held elections on the 10th of February 2024, in a ceremony at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex here on Wednesday.According to an official of PTF, the outgoing President, Senator Salim Saifullah Khan handed over the PTF reigns to Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and presented him a tennis racket on this occasion. Senator Salim Saifullah Khan felicitated Aisam and said he was confident Aisam would work hard to promote and develop tennis throughout Pakistan.On this occasion, Aisam ul Haq Qureshi thanked Senator Salim Saifullah Khan and assured him that he would work tirelessly for the betterment of tennis and especially focus on player development as well as the development of tennis infrastructure in the country.

ITF appoints Committees and Commissions members from Pakistan
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced the 2024-2025 Committees and Commissions Appointments and officials from Pakistan.According to an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), the president PTF Senator Salim Saifullah Khan has become the member of Davis Cup & Billie Jean King Cup Taskforce while Asim Shafik will be the part of ITF Coaches Commission. Mohammad Ali Murtaza has been nominated the member of ITF Juniors Committee.In a message, Salim Saifullah Khan and PTF Management thanked David Haggerty, President ITF, and his team for the prestigious appointments. The President-PTF has also assured the President ITF that he and his team would continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the promotion and development of tennis.

Rashid, and Hameed claim upset victories in ITF Masters Thailand
Sports Bulletin ReportPattya (Thailand): Former Davis Cupper tennis men, Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik registered upset victories in the 60+ Singles of the ITF Seniors’ Master Championship at Pattaya, Thailand.Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik moved in the semifinals after these wins. Rashid malik outclassed Peter Schubert of Germany (World Ranking 70) in straight sets 2-0 with the score-line of 6-0, and 7-6 while Hameed-ul-Haq overpowered Simon Arms of Australia (World Ranking 12) with the score-line of 6-1, and 6-1.In the 65+ Doubles Category Waqar Nisar (Pak) and Kazuhico Imahashi (Japan) lost to Shay Abramovich (Israel) and Robert McGuigan 3-6, 7-5, 6-10 in the quarterfinals.

He will meet Lewis Driver, seeded 6, from Australia into next round at the same venue.Rashid Malik beat seed no 3 Dillip Singh Nongmattiw of India 6-0 , 6-1 to move quarter final 60+ singles where he will meet no 8 seed Aspiotis Stan from Australia. Hameed and Rashid register victories in ITF Seniors Championship
Sports Bulletin ReportPattya (Thailand): Duo of Pakistani former Davis Cupper tennis men, Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik posted victories in the first round of the 60+ Singles of the ITF Seniors’ Master Championship at Pattaya, Thailand.Hameed-ul-Haq outplayed Indian man in straight sets 2-0 with the score-line of 6-3, 6-2 while Rashid Malik outclassed Miritello from Italy in straight sets 2-0 without conceding a single game. The final score-line was 6-0, 6-0.Waqar Nisar defeated Dilibor Vojtisek from Czech Republic in similar style 2-0 with the score-line of 6-2, and 6-2 to move into the second round of 65+ singles.

Hameed-ul-Haq to play two international tournaments
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Former Davis Cupper, Hameed-ul-Haq will represent Pakistan in the upcoming ITF MT700 Assetwise ITF Masters Championship Pattaya, which will kick off on November 18, 2023 and ITF MT400 at Greta Sport Club ITF Master III Pattaya, which will start on November 25, 2023 in Pattaya, Thailand.Assetwise ITF Masters Championship Pattaya will be held from 18 November to 24 November 2023 on Synthetic Hard Courts at the Royal Cliff Hotel, Fitz Club - Pattaya, while the Greta Sport Club ITF Master III Championship will be held from 25 November to 01 December 2023 on Synthetic Hard Courts at the Greta Resort, and Sport Club, Pattaya. Hameed will participate in the seniors’ 60+ singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.It is pertinent to mention that the last month, Hameed toppled the tournament second seeded Indian player Dillip Singh Nongmaithem 2-0 in the 60+ Category final of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) seniors’ Tennis Championship 2023 at Greta Sports Club Pattaya, Thailand. The final score-line was 6-0, 6-0.
