Lahore Test: Pakistan score 313 runs for 5 on opening day
Lahore (Sports News): Pakistan batters were satisfied when they finished 313 for 5 on the opening day of the first Test match at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore on Sunday after 90 overs game.Left-handed batter Imam ul Haq was the top scorer with 93 runs while skipper Shan Masood added 75 runs. Both batters aggregated 160 runs for the second wicket. Acha Salman and Mohammad Rizwan were not out at the end of day 1 game. Babar Azam could only made 23 runs.

Rawalpindi qualify for final of National U19 Cup
 Lahore (PCB Report): Rawalpindi region have qualified for the final of the National U19 Cup after topping Group ‘B’ at the conclusion of the ninth round of the tournament today. Rawalpindi remained unbeaten in the event, securing 15 points after winning seven of their eight fixtures, with one match abandoned due to rain.Rawalpindi’s opponents for the final will be confirmed after the completion of the ninth-round fixtures of Group ‘A’, which could not take place today due to unavoidable circumstances. A revised schedule will be announced in due course.In Group B match at Shama Cricket Ground, Bahawalpur defeated DMJ by 85 runs. ICC World Cup: Australia beat Pakistan by 107 runs
 Colombo (SBR):: Australia beat Pakistan by 107 runs in the ninth fixture of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday evening. This was Pakistan’s third loss in as many matches in the event. They will now take on England at the same venue on Wednesday, 15 October.After being put into bat, the defending champions struggled to score runs against Pakistan’s bowlers as they lost seven wickets for just 76 runs and were 115 for eight after Kim Garth (11, 47b) fell to Diana Baig in the 34th over. At that stage, Beth Mooney was joined by Alana King and the pair put together a record 106-run partnership for the ninth wicket.During the course of the stand, number 10 batter King brought up her maiden half-century and returned unbeaten on 51 off 49 balls, including three fours and as many sixes. UAE Women’s team to play four ODIs in Papua New Guinea
Dubai (SBR): The UAE Women’s team will continue to gain more ODI exposure with a four-match away series against Papua New Guinea following their successful tour of Zimbabwe where the team drew their maiden ODI series 2-2. Prolific all-rounder Esha Oza will lead the 16-member squad. The opening match of the series will be played on Monday 13 October. The second, third and fourth ODIs will be played on 15, 17 and 19 October. Ticket on sale: Pakistan vs South Africa
Lahore (PR): The tickets for the two-Test match series between Pakistan and South Africa will go on sale later today from 5pm. The online tickets will be available here, while physical tickets for the Test matches will be available at TCS Express Centres from Thursday, 8 October (infographic attached).The first Test will be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 12 to 16 October, while the second Test will take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 20 to 24 October. Both Test matches are part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.The tickets for six white-ball matches (three T20Is, three ODIs) will go on sale online and available at TCS Express Centres from 16 October.

Islamabad (Sports News): The league stage match between defending champions Australia and Sri Lanka at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 was abandoned without a ball bowled at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.In what would have been Sri Lanka’s first home fixture at the World Cup, the toss was initially delayed due to a wet outfield.The rain then came in and failed to stop, which resulted in the match abandoned hours after the scheduled start.The teams each take a point from the encounter, which sees Australia move to the top of the table, while Sri Lanka have picked up their first point of the tournament.Looking ahead, the titleholders will next face Pakistan on 8 October in Colombo, while Sri Lanka will prepare to host England in a week’s time.

Women’s World Cup: Hannah approved as replacement for Devonshire in New Zealand squad
Islamabad (Sports Desk): The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 has approved Hannah Rowe as a replacement for Flora Devonshire in the New Zealand squad.Rowe was named as a replacement after Devonshire was ruled out after sustaining an injury to her dominant handduring the team's training session at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.The Event Technical committee of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 consists of Wasim Khan (Chair, ICC General Manager - Cricket), Gaurav Saxena (ICC General Manager – Events & Corporate Communications), Abey Kuruvilla (BCCI Tournament Director), Mel Jones (Independent nominee).

Match officials announced for Pakistan-South Africa Cricket Series
 Lahore (PCB Report): Sri Lanka’s Ranjan Madugalle will officiate as match referee for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 matches and white-ball series between Pakistan and South Africa, scheduled from 12 October to 8 November.The first Test will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 12 to 16 October. Australia’s Rodney Tucker, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires will serve as an on-field umpire alongside New Zealand’s Christopher Brown, who is part of the ICC Emerging Umpires Group.Bangladesh’s Saikat Sharfuddoula, also from the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, will perform the duties of third umpire, while Pakistan’s Faisal Khan Afridi from the ICC International Panel of Umpires will act as fourth umpire.For the second Test, to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 20 to 24 October, Christopher Brown will be joined by Saikat Sharfuddoula as on-field umpires, while Rodney Tucker will officiate as third umpire. Rashid Riaz, from the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will serve as fourth umpire.In the first T20I on 28 October at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Muhammad Asif Yaqoob (ICC Emerging Umpires Group) will be joined by Rashid Riaz as on-field umpires, with Faisal Khan Afridi as third umpire and Tariq Rasheed as fourth umpire.
