Haikou (China): Pakistan outclassed Kyrgyzstan in straight games 3-0 in their opening fixture of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Boys' U18 Volleyball Championship 2026 here on Sunday. The final score-line was 25-10, 25-19 and 25-17.
Pakistan completely dominated the opening set, putting Kyrgyzstan under immediate pressure through strong serving, effective blocking, and aggressive attacking play. The national team maintained excellent control of the game and comfortably secured the first set 25-10.
Kyrgyzstan attempted to respond in the second set, but Pakistan remained composed and disciplined. The players maintained their attacking rhythm and court organization to claim the set 25-19.
In the third set, Pakistan continued to dictate the tempo of the match. With confident attacking combinations and strong defensive coverage, the Green Shirts closed out the set 25-17 to complete an emphatic 3-0 victory.
Fahad Ali made a strong impact with his aggressive attacking play and ability to put pressure on the opposition at crucial moments. Mohammad Anas delivered an excellent performance at the net, contributing through effective blocking and quick attacks.
Team captain Mohammad Irfan led the side with confidence and maturity, playing an important role in maintaining the team's energy, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout the match. Asad Ullah produced a strong defensive performance and provided stability in the backcourt with his reception and court coverage.
Faizan Ullah also impressed with his attacking contribution and energetic performance, helping Pakistan maintain control throughout the contest. The collective performance reflected Pakistan's strong preparation and the team's determination to compete against Asia's best youth volleyball nations.
Head Coach Kafaitullah expressed satisfaction with the team's performance but emphasized that the players must remain focused on the challenges ahead. "It is always important to start a major championship with a positive result. The players followed the game plan, remained disciplined, and played with confidence. I am pleased with the overall team performance, but this is only the beginning of the tournament. Our next matches will be very important. Kazakhstan and Thailand are strong teams, and we must remain fully focused.
