KARACHI:-News Zealand beat Pakistan by 47 runs in the last and final of the 5-Match One Day International Series here at National Stadium Karachi on Sunday night, as the Green Shirts won the series 4-1 by winning the first two fixtures at Pindi cricket stadium and two in Karachi.

Kiwis captain Tom Latham won the toss back-to-back three times in national stadium and decided to bat first this time, earlier, in the both matches he had elected to bowl first in the 3rd and 4th ODI. Visitors posted 299 runs on the board to set a 300 runs target for Babar’s XIs. Will Young was top scorer with 87 runs with the help of 8 four and a couple of sixes while Tom Latham contributed 59 runs off 58 balls. He hit five fours during his smart and well composed innings. Mark Chapman, who was the hero for the Blackcaps in the T20 series, played a clattering innings of 43 runs, as his innings was laced with five four and two big sixes. He faced just 33 balls. Ravindra smashed 28 off 20 balls at the last moments of the innings.

Shaheen Shah Afridi (3 for 46), Usama Mir (2 for 53), Shadab Khan (2 for 67), Mohammad Wasim (1 for 29), and Haris Rauf (1 for 45) were the successful bowlers of Pakistan.

Pakistan could score 252 runs in 46.1 overs while targeting 300 target, as the only batter Iftikhar amused the spectators by playing a great knock of 94 runs unbeaten, as he was the last hope for the Pakistan but rest of all batters lost their wickets. He hit 8 fours and 2 huge sixes. Agha Salam scored 57 runs off 57 balls with the help of five fours and a maximum hit.
