PESHAWAR:-Top seed Mohammad Azaan Khalil, Mohd Ammad, Mutahir Ali Shah and Varun Asif jumped into the top-four stage of the Under-19 fixture of the KP-All Pakistan Juniors’ Squash Championship after defeating their opponents at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex Peshawar on Thursday. The semifinals will be played on Friday (June 24) at the same venue.

On Thursday, first three quarterfinals of Under-19 category finished in straight games, as the winners stormed into the semifinals. However, the last quarterfinal was a well contested five games match in which both players from Punjab Varun Asif and Mohammad Azlan Khawar exhibited top quality squash and amused sizeable spectators. Varun got rid of his challenger Mohammad Azlan 3-2 with the final score-line of 4-11, 16-14, 11-5, 6-11 and 11-7.

Huraira Khan (KP) beat Shayyan Ali (KP) 3-1 (11-6, 11-3, 11-4, 11-6)

Moeen ud Din (PB) beat Noor Khan (PAF) 3-1 (8-11, 11-8, 15-13, 16-14)

Hikmatyar (PB) beat Yashwa Yousaf (PB) 3-0 (11-2, 11-4, 11-2)

Zain Anwar (PB) beat Zuraiz Naeem (PB) 3-0 (11-2, 11-5, 11-9)

Varun Asif (PB) beat Mohammad Azlan Khawar (PB) 3-2 (4-11, 16-14, 11-5, 6-11, 11-7).
