Abbas’ 10-wicket haul powers Lahore Whites to win in fifth round
Lahore (PR): Mohammad Abbas’ 10-wicket haul in the match led Lahore Whites to a six-wicket win over Multan at the Marghazar Cricket Ground in Islamabad on the third day of the fifth-round fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on Saturday.In another result-oriented game, Bahawalpur defeated Karachi Blues by eight wickets at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.The remaining three matches of the fifth round are set for a fourth-day finish.At the Marghazar Cricket Ground, resuming their second innings on an overnight score of 122 for three, Multan were bowled out for 199 in 64.3 overs, with Imran Butt top-scoring with a 151-ball 71 that included eight boundaries.For Lahore Whites, Mohammad Abbas bagged yet another five-wicket haul to finish with 10 wickets in the match. PMYP: Qalandars Provincial Cricket League kicks off in Quetta
Quetta (SBR): The Prime Minister Youth Programme-Qalandars Provincial Cricket League has officially commenced in Quetta, marking the beginning of a landmark national cricket initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing young talent from across Pakistan. The opening phase of the league, being held from October 27 to 31 at the Bugti Stadium, Quetta, features five teams representing Quetta, Turbat, Khuzdar, Loralai, and Dera Murad Jamali. Players for these teams were selected through open merit-based trials conducted across Balochistan, ensuring that every talented cricketer received an equal opportunity to participate.
U19 Cup final: Lahore beat Rawalpindi by seven wickets
Multan (Salman Khan): Three wickets each from Naqeebullah and Ibtisam Azhar led Lahore Blues to a seven-wicket win over Rawalpindi in the final of the National U19 Cup at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Right-arm off-spinner Ibtisam finished the tournament with 20 wickets from eight matches.The match, which was live-streamed on Tapmad across Pakistan and on PCB’s YouTube channel for viewers outside Pakistan, saw Rawalpindi opting to bat first after winning the toss. They were bowled out for 142 in 44.1 overs, with Ali Mehdi top-scoring with 36.For Lahore Blues, left-arm spinner Naqeebullah and right-arm off-spinner Ibtisam took three wickets apiece for 16 and 25 runs, respectively.In reply, Lahore Blues lost three wickets in their chase and achieved the target in 39.4 overs. Rawalpindi qualify for final of National U19 Cup
Lahore (PCB Report): Rawalpindi region have qualified for the final of the National U19 Cup after topping Group ‘B’ at the conclusion of the ninth round of the tournament today. Rawalpindi remained unbeaten in the event, securing 15 points after winning seven of their eight fixtures, with one match abandoned due to rain.Rawalpindi’s opponents for the final will be confirmed after the completion of the ninth-round fixtures of Group ‘A’, which could not take place today due to unavoidable circumstances. A revised schedule will be announced in due course.In Group B match at Shama Cricket Ground, Bahawalpur defeated DMJ by 85 runs. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26 to begin from 6 October
Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD: The 10-team Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is all set to begin in four cities - Abbottabad, Islamabad, Peshawar and Rawalpindi from Monday, 6 October as the domestic cricket season 2025-26 gets into full swing, the PCB announced today.The four-day first-class tournament will be played on single-league round-robin format as a total of nine rounds have been penciled in from 6 October to 26 November, while the five-day final between the two top teams will take place from 29 November to 3 December.The venues for the 46-match QeA Trophy are Abbottabad Cricket Stadium in Abbottabad, Shoaib Akhtar Stadium in Rawalpindi, Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar and Diamond and Marghzar Cricket Grounds in Islamabad. Peshawar (SBR): Four more matches have been decided in the National Men’s Under-19 One-Day Cup. FATA Region defeated Islamabad Region by 223 runs at Mir wais Ground, Shah Alam to secure their fourth victory. Batting first, FATA Region scored 308 runs for the loss of seven wickets. In-form batsman Usman Khan scored his second consecutive century of the tournament. He played a brilliant and captivating innings of 151 runs. The innings of 140 balls included eleven fours and six sixes. Apart from him, Mohammad Abbas Afridi scored 37 runs. Taimur Ali scored 23, Mohammad Tahir scored 22 and Jiyad scored 18. Mohammad Nayyar took three wickets.In reply, Islamabad were all out for 85 runs. Owais Ahmed was the top scorer with 23 runs. Naveed Khan captured three wickets while Taimur, Jamshedullah and Mohammad Tahir each took two wickets apiece. Usman Khan was declared the man of the match. The match was supervised by Alae Haider and Abdul Karim Nesvi. The match referee was Ghulam Mustafa and the scorer was Noor Mohammad. PCB grants first-ever Scorer contracts for 2025-26 season

Fata defeated Hyderabad by 7 wickets to claim their third consecutive victory.At the Ashfaq Ground, Charsadda, Hyderabad batted first and the entire team was dismissed for 151 runs. Abdul Wahab scored 29, Yahya Shah scored 28 and Abdul Ahad scored 24 runs. Jamshed ullah and Naveed Khan took three wickets each. Taimur Ali, Mohammad Tahir, Usman Khan and Abdul Basit grabbed one wicket each.In reply, FATA Region achieved the target for the loss of three wickets. Pakistan Shaheens' five-day camp to start from Sunday
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Pakistan Shaheens will undergo a five-day camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore from Sunday, 3 August, ahead of their departure to Australia on 8 August to participate in the Top End T20 Series.The 11-team T20 tournament will be played in Darwin from 14 to 24 August, with the Shaheens set to open their campaign against Bangladesh ‘A’ at the TIO Stadium. The first ball will be bowled at 7pm local time.Shaheens’ players will assemble in Lahore on Saturday evening and will take part in fielding and net sessions on 3 and 4 August. They will then feature in scenario-based matches at the Gaddafi Stadium on 5 and 6 August.
