PSL-11: Peshawar Zalmi beat Multan Sultans by 24 runs
Karachi (Sports News): Peshawar Zalmi extended their unbeaten run in HBL Pakistan Super League 11 with a 24-run win over Multan Sultans in Match 22 at the National Bank Stadium on Monday, maintaining their position at the top of the standings with 11 points from six matches.Multan Sultans were restricted to 172-8 in 20 overs in reply to Peshawar Zalmi’s 196-6 in 20 overs. Sufyan Moqim (4-0-30-3) and Iftikhar Ahmed (4-0-32-2) shared the wickets of Sultans’ top five batters to leave them in a puzzle.After Sultans opted to bowl, Zalmi’s Kusal Mendis anchored the innings with 68 from 40 balls hitting six fours and three sixes, while Mohammad Haris provided a blistering start with 38 from 17 deliveries as Peshawar posted 196 for six.Peshawar tore into the Multan attack through Haris who smashed three sixes and four boundaries at the top of the order. International Sports Press Association honors Pakistani Journalist Amjad Aziz Malik
Islamabad (Sports Desk): In a significant recognition of his lifelong contributions to sports journalism, Amjad Aziz Malik, President of the Pakistan Sports Writers Federation, has been elected as a Lifetime Honorary Member of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).The prestigious honour was conferred during the 88th AIPS Congress held in Lausanne, Switzerland, where representatives from 111 countries participated.Alongside Malik, five other senior sports journalists from Japan, Spain, Malta, Brazil and Turkey were also awarded Lifetime Honorary Membership in recognition of their more than a decade of distinguished service to AIPS.Amjad Aziz Malik has made history by becoming the first Pakistani sports journalist in the 102-year history of AIPS to receive this honour. POA honours Rizwan Aftab Ahmed for championing Pakistan’s athletes
Lahore (PR): The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has honoured Rizwan Aftab Ahmed in recognition of his significant contributions to the development and welfare of athletes in Pakistan.Over the years, Rizwan has emerged as a committed supporter of Pakistani athletes, providing financial, medical, and nutritional assistance to help elevate their performance. His efforts have been particularly notable in the case of Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem, whom he supported both in Pakistan and during training and medical engagements in England.Speaking on the occasion, POA Secretary General Mohammad Khalid Mahmood praised his dedication to the promotion of sports in the country. “We are truly grateful to Rd. Kabul Sports Bulletin Report):The Afghanistan National Cricket Team's newly appointed Head Coach, Richard Pybus, has arrived in Kabul to oversee the National Team's upcoming skill development and training camp.The Afghanistan Cricket Board's CEO, Naseeb Khan, met with Pybus to extend a warm welcome on his inaugural visit to Kabul. During their meeting, the CEO outlined the ACB’s strategic goals and shared high expectations for the future of the national team as the new coach begins his tenure.Marking his first visit to the Afghan capital, Pybus also held meetings with officials from the Selection Committee, the International and Domestic Cricket departments, and the High-Performance Center.
