PESHAWAR:-Boys Under-17 and Under-19 KPL Pakistan Junior Squash Championship started at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex Peshawar under the banner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association. Provincial Secretary Sports Tahir Orakzai was the special guest on the occasion along with squash legends Qamar Zaman and Mohibullah Khan.

Chief Organizer and Chief Referee Munawar Zaman, Deputy Director Azizullah Jan, Associate Secretary Squash Association Sajjad Khalil, Finance Secretary Wazir Mohammad and other personalities were present on this occasion.

More than 70 players from all provinces are participating in the All Pakistan competitions. 64 players are in the qualifying round while 32 players will participate in the main draw and the prize money for the winners of these competitions has been fixed at Rs 200,000.

He said that other junior players including Noor Zaman are also working hard and hopefully our junior players would become future champions. "We keep trying in our meager annual budget. The grant is very low and our number of annual tournaments has reached 30." He said that the minimum prize money for each tournament should be Rs 500,000 for which the government should take steps and the sponsors should also come forward as a single racket, ball, shows, stings and diet is everything that is expensive for the player.
