Timber Wolves lift All Pakistan Ramadan Cup Basketball Title
ISLAMABAD (Press Release): Timber Wolves Islamabad defeated YMCA Lahore in a decisive battle to win the club category final of the All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament here at Pakistan Sports Complex.In the final of the club category of the six-day tournament organized by the Federal Basketball Association, YMCA Lahore dominated in the final till mid of the match with 10-6 points but Ali Hamza Kazmi showed some impressive performances in the last two minutes to help six consecutive points for Timber Wolves team and changed the game in their favour and won the final with 18 points against 14.Ali Hamza Kazmi scored 14 points and Sher Shehzad scored four points for the winning side while Khalid Saadi scored seven points and Muhammad Salman scored five points for YMCA.President Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF), Brigadier (Rtd) Mohammad Iftikhar Mansoor who was the chief guest of the closing ceremony appreciated the efforts of the tournament organizing secretary Ouj E Zahoor and all other members for providing the best arrangements for this tournament and said that Pakistan Basketball Federation will continue their efforts to promote basketball in the country specially to organize such events in the future as well so that the youth get an opportunity to show the essence of their abilities.Deputy Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Mohammad Saeed Akhtar, Pakistan Basketball Federation Associate Secretary and Organizing Committee Secretary Ouj E Zahoor, President Federal Basketball Association Ejaz Rafi Butt, PBBF Chairman Selection Committee Col. (R) Shujaat Ali Rana, National Coach Malik Mohammad Riaz, Mohammad Azam Dar and other dignitaries were also attended the closing ceremony.Earlier In the semifinals round of the club tournament, Timber Wolves thrashed Bulls A by 18-11 points and YMCA beat Reapers Red by 20-12 points.

Ramadan Cup Basketball: Pakistan Army, WAPDA win titles
Mohammad Azam DarISLAMABAD: Unbeatable Pakistan Army and WAPDA A emerged victorious in Women’s and Men’s departmental categories respectively of the All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament, which concluded here at Pakistan Sports Complex on Monday night.In Men’s departmental final, Pakistan WAPDA A were too strong against WAPDA B continued their good show in the tournament, and thrashed their opponent by 21-10 points. Wapda ace players Kaleemullah and Zain-ul-Hasan again led the winning side by scoring 9 and 7 points respectively while Amir Farooq scored 6 points.Army girls displayed exceptional skills and tenacity, battling until the end of the match by securing women’s title by 12-5 points. Aamina Mohsin of Army emerged as the player of the night, contributing a stellar performance with 8 points along with Hadiya added 3 points while Mahrukh Ali scored 3 points for Lycans A.Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) President Brig (R ) Mohammad Iftikhar Mansoor was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony, who presenting the winning trophies and cash rewards to the winning teams while Deputy Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Mohammad Saeed Akhtar, Pakistan Basketball Federation Associate Secretary and organizing committee secretary Ouj E Zahoor, President Federal basketball Association Ejaz Rafi Butt, PBBF Chairman selection Committee Col. ISLAMABAD (PR): Timber Wolves, YMCA, Bulls A, and Reapers Red reached the last-four stage in the Club category of the All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament here at the Outdoor Basketball courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.According to tournament organizing secretary Ouj E Zahoor, Under the supervision of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) 48 clubs are taking part in the club category of the tournament organised by the Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) in three different categories. In the club category quarterfinal round, Timber Wolves outclassed Mustang club by 21-12 points in a one sided match. Ali Kazmi scored 12 and Mohammad Osama scored 6 points for the winning side.YMCA thrashed United Kings in the second quarterfinal as YMCA commanded the match all the time with 21-15 points which they maintained their lead till the end. Mohammad Hamza scored 8 while Hammad Ali scored 6 points for YMCA.  In the third quarter final Bulls A beat Bulls B by 17-14 points while Reapers Red thrashed Raptors White 20-8 points to enter into the last four stage in the club category.

Army, Wapda enter into semi-finals of Ramadan Cup Basketball
ISLAMABAD (PR): Pakistan Army and Wapda moved into the semi-finals in the Departmental category of All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament here at outdoor basketball courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad organized by Federal Basketball Association (FBBA).Army Greens, who are having the services of some young players, recorded victory against the Navy by 21-8 points and qualified for the semi-final round. Army's Shiraz Aslam scored nine points while Muhammad Usman scored six points. In the second quarterfinal match Wapda (A) overpowered Police Greens in another one-sided game by 22-10 points. Zain ul Hasan scored 10 points and Ali Raza scored 7 points for Wapda A. In the third quarter final, Wapda Greens defeated Police Blues by 22-9 points while Army (A) won against Wapda Red by 21-17 points.In the women's category quarter-final matches, Army players were far better against AK Club  weared blue shirts leading 9 points as the match was concluded with 17-8 points. Army player Aamina Mohsin scored 10 and Aiman Riaz scored 5 points. In the second quarter-final, Lions C defeated Night Blues by 4-13 points. Madiha Nawaz scored six points while Maria Khan scored five points in the match. In the second quarter-final, Lycans C defeated Knight Blues by 13-4 points. Madiha Nawaz scored six points while Maria Khan scored five points in the match while Lycans A defeated Lycans D by 16-5 points and Lycans B defeated AK White by 5-0 points in the quarter-final matches.Wapda Greens will face Pakistan Army A while Wapda A will face Army Greens in the departmental category semifinal round of the tournament.

Pakistan Army, WAPDA, and Navy register victories on the opening dayISLAMABAD (PR): Pakistan Army, Lycans A, Wapda and Navy registered big wins on the first day pool round matches in the Women’s and Departmental categories of All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament here at outdoor basketball courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad organized by Federal Basketball Association (FBBA).According to organizing secretary of the tournament Ouj E Zahoor, large numbers of basketball teams are participating in the four-day event played under floodlights with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).In Women’s category Pakistan Army with a brilliant game defeated AK White by 16-3 points. Army's Aamina Mohsin scored 6 and Aiman Riaz scored four points. In the second match, Lycans A won by 11-2 points against Lycans Juniors with the help of Farhna Naz's five points and Fariha Mushtaq's three points, while in the third match, Lycans B defeated AK Purple  
Raptors win first DHA Inter-Club Ramadan Basketball Tournament
Abdul Jabbar FaisalRAWALPINDI: The inter-Club Ramadan Basketball Tournament concluded at DHA Sector E Basketball Courts, which was held under the banner of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi in collaboration with the Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) from March 20-25, 2024.According to an official, as many as 12 teams participated in the tournament, which were divided into 4 groups. Top 2 teams of each group qualified for the quarterfinals. After quarterfinals, Wah Reapers, Raptors, United Kings, and Dynamites moved into the semifinals. United Kings beat Dynamites in a thrilling match by 4 points whereas Raptors beat Wah Reapers by 12 points.Final match was played between United Kings and Raptors, as it was nerve-jangling contest. Raptors overcame United Kings with the 2 points margin. The final score-line was 89-87 in the favour of Raptors. The winners received a glittering trophy and collected Rs. 50,000 cash prize of the first edition. United Kings pocketed Rs.30, 000 cash prize with a runners-up with trophy.Many distinguished guest were present at the venue to enjoy a beautiful game of basketball including Director Sports DHA Brig Salim Nawaz, Deputy Doctor Sports, Malik Mohammad Riaz, Col Shujaat Ali Rana, Major Saleem, Dr Ouj Zahoor, Azam Dar along with organisers Dr Rohail, Usman Awan, Owais Butt and sizeable spectators.Imtiaz Rafi Butt, Senior Vice President, Pakistan Basketball Federation graced the closing ceremony as a chief guest. He distributed the shields, trophies and Souvenirs among distinguished guests and teams in a wonderful prize distribution ceremony.

Mohammad Azam Dar ISLAMABAD: Under the patronage of the Federal Basketball Association (FBBA), the All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament will kick off on Thursday (March 28) at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.According to Federal Basketball Association Secretary Ouj E Zahoor, a large number of basketball clubs and departments from around the country will participate in the event which will be played under floodlights.He said that the FBBA and the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF), with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) have been at the forefront of nurturing and promoting basketball in the country. This tournament is a testament to their unwavering commitment to developing sports infrastructure and providing platforms for athletes to showcase their skills.“The tournament, spanning several days, will showcase the growing talent in three distinct categories including Men's Departmental Tournament, Club Tournament for men, and the Women's Tournament”, Ouj said, adding that the men's departmental tournament will see fierce competition among 12 teams from prestigious departments including Wapda, Army, Navy, and Police. Meanwhile, the Club Tournament is expected to be a grand affair with 48 teams from various cities across Pakistan competing for the top spot and women's tournament will feature 12 teams, highlighting the growing interest and participation of women in basketball. Ouj E Zahoor said that this year's 3x3 Ramadan Cup is more than just a tournament; it's a celebration of basketball and its rapidly growing format, 3x3, which has been gaining international acclaim and popularity. PBBF to host Olympic Solidarity WABC Level-I Coaching Course
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) has announces to hold an Olympic Solidarity WABC Level-I Coaching Course from December 11 to 16, 2023 at Government College University, Lahore.According to Secretary General PBBF Khalid Bashir, FIBA Coaching Instructor, Milan Kotarac from Serbia is keen to lead a six-day coaching course under the banner of FIBA. The program aims to provide in-depth theoretical and practical insights to fifteen coaches, encompassing both male and female participants, during morning and evening sessions. Kotarac will be assisted by Ouj-e-Zahoor, Associate Secretary PBBF, Mohammad Sami, Course Coordinator and Mohammad Riaz Malik, Head Coach, Pakistan Basketball Team.Khalid Bashir highlighted the paramount importance of staying abreast of the latest rules in basketball, emphasizing the role of the coaching community in contributing to the growth of the sport in Pakistan. National Men’s Basketball Championship: WAPDA clinch trophy
WAPDA overcome Pakistan Army 73-70 in a nerve-jangling basketball finalMohammad Azam DarLAHORE: Pakistan Wapda emerged victorious in a nail-biting final against the Pakistan Army and clinched the title of the National Men’s Basketball Championship 2023 Trophy at Government College University Lahore on Friday. Pakistan WAPDS got rid of the Pakistan Army by 73-70.Both teams displayed exceptional skills and tenacity and fought until the final moments. Wapda, however, seized control in the last quarter, securing a thrilling 73-70 victory. Zainul Hassan of Wapda emerged as the hero of the day, contributing a stellar performance with 28 points, while teammates Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Zahid Arif added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Despite a valiant effort from Army, Wapda's dominance in the closing stages proved decisive. Tughlab Ammar led the scoring for Army with 24 points, followed by Shoaib Aslam with 19 points and Sheraz Aslam with 12 points. The officiating team of Umer Mehmood, Syed Adnan Ali, and Saadat Jehangir ensured a fair and competitive match.Earlier, in the third position play-off, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) secured a convincing 90-61 victory against Lahore, claiming the third position. The closely contested match saw PAF with a slight 38-37 lead at halftime. Mohammad Akhtar (24 points), Ahmed Jan (22 points), and Umair Jan (11 points) were the top scorers for PAF, while Saboor Mehdi (20 points), Ahmed Abbas (12 points), and Salman Rafiq (10 points) stood out for Lahore. National Basketball Championship: Army to meet WAPDA in final
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Pakistan Army will face Pakistan Wapda in the final of the National Men’s Basketball Championship 2023, which will be played on Friday at Government College University Lahore. Both teams won the semifinals on Wednesday quite comfortably.  Army beat Lahore (84-58):In the first semifinal, Pakistan Army faced a formidable challenge from Lahore Division Basketball Team but emerged victorious with a scoreline of 84-58. At halftime, Army held a close lead of 38-23. Tughlab Ammar led the charge for Pakistan Army with an impressive 33 points, supported by Mohammad Shehbaz Ali (9 points) and Sheraz Aslam (9 points). Lahore's contributions came from Safi Khan (27 points), Ibtisam Murtaza (8 points), and Mohsin Mehtab (8 points). WAPDA beat PAF (80-51):The second semifinal witnessed Pakistan Wapda securing an impressive 80-51 victory over Pakistan Air Force. Leading 38-30 at halftime, Wapda showcased outstanding basketball skills, with Zainul Hassan (28 points), Mohammad Zahid Arif (16 points), and Mohammad Usman (15 points) steering their team to success. For Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Umair Jan scored 23 points, with Mohammad Akhter contributing 8 points and Ahmed Jan securing 7 points.A sizable crowd, including spectators such as Shahid Mirza, Tajamal Riaz, Umer Sardar, Mateen Akmal, Director of Sports at GCU Waseem Akhtar, PBBF Secretary General Khalid Bashir, Mohammad Azam Dar, and students of GC University, witnessed the thrilling matches officiated by referees Ghulam Mohammad Memon, Mohammad Alam, Gul Jamal, Umer Mohammad, Syed Adnan Ali, and Saadat Jehangir.
