Farhan hopes to reach in top 100s at International Squash Ranking very soon

ISLAMABAD:-World number 280 squash player and an emerging 18 years old lad Farhan Hashmi hoped that he would improve his Professionals’ Squash Association (PSA) Ranking, after showing a notable performance in the upcoming international squash tournaments and secure his place in the top 100s very soon. It is pertinent to mention here that Farhan Hashmi has represented Pakistan in the various international juniors’ events including Asian Squash Championship 2019 in Thailand, Qatar Juniors and Hong Kong Juniors Squash Championship.

While talking to international website Sports Bulletin at Liaquat Baugh Sports Complex Rawalpindi during an exclusive sitting, he added that he would visit the USA and would take part in four international squash events in different four states, which would help him to increase his international ranking. “My first aim is to reach in the top hundreds players and then move ahead in the international squash circuit. I am going to the United States of America (USA) and Canada to participate in the four international squash events, “he said.

“US and Canada tours to play squash in the international circuit, as these trips will be beneficial and helpful for me to improve my game skills and move ahead in the international squash ranking. When I will play against high ranked foreign players in a different atmosphere, I will learn a lot. Once, I was at 203 in PSA ranking and I slipped down but I am now determined to make a mark in the history of Pakistan squash as well as international squash, “he added while cleaning his forehead.

To a question Hafiz-e-Quran Farhan Hashmi further said: “My elder brother Salman Hashmi supports me in all ways and means in squash. He also played squash and lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). I learnt game skills from him and his companion squash coach Mohammad Wasim, who is a very nice and professional coach. Whenever I go to Dubai for training, my brother also helps me financially for the international trips. A senior national squash player Emmad Freed also helps me too much, “he maintained.

A question regarding the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Farhan Hashmi viewed that secretary squash Armaghan Aziz was very cooperative during the camps. “He provides all the facilities during the camps and fulfills all our requirements. I have no demand from the federation, as all the affairs are going smoothly. I am concentrating only on my game, as my brother removes all the hurdles from my way. He (Salman Bhai) provides me tremendous support, “he replied to another question.  

“I am based in Rawalpindi (Jehanda Chichi) and I do practice at Liaqat Baugh Sports Complex and fitness session at Safri Club at my own expense. At Pindi, Sajjad Ahmed guides me during my three hour practice session at Jehangir Khan Squash Court. I give around six hours daily to squash and toiling hard to improve my game skills to become a world class squash player. It is my dream and that will turn into true, “optimistic pencil thin national squash guy Farhan Hashmi son of Shafqat Tenvir concluded.
