Hamza Mawaz Khan showcased exceptional skills, contributing seven impressive goals, with Adnan Jalil Azam adding the crucial eighth goal for Newage Cables/Master Paints. On the opposing side, Nicholas Roberts scored four goals, while Daniyal Sheikh and Lt Col (R) Omer Minhas each struck one goal for DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel. The second match unfolded as a one-sided affair, with Diamond Paints overpowering Pebble Breaker with a resounding 12-4½ victory. Bilal Hayat Noon and Raja Temur Nadeem played stellar polo, each securing four fantastic goals, while Mir Shoaib Ahmed and Saqib Khan Khakwani contributed two goals each to Diamond Paints' dominant performance. The opening match of the day showcased Master Paints' skillful play as they outpaced FG/Din Polo with a final score of 9-6. The standout performance came from Iranian player Amirreza Behboundi, who showcased excellent polo skills, contributing impressive six goals to secure victory for Master Paints. Teammates Agha Musa Ali Khan and Chaudhry Hayat added two and one goals, respectively. On the opposing side, Juan Cruz Greguol led the scoring for FG/Din Polo with four goals, while Mian Abbas Mukhtar converted a brace. In the second match, Team Remounts dominated the field with a commendable 10-6 victory against Team Barry's. The hero of the day for Remounts was Abelenda, who not only displayed outstanding polo skills but also contributed four crucial goals to his team's triumph. Omar Asjad Malhi hammered a hat-trick and Swr. Mohammad Naeem scored a goal for Remounts. Raja Jalal Arslan played well for Team Barry’s, contributing three goals, while Maissam Haider and Nafees Barry converted two and one goal, respectively. Iranian polo sensation Amirreza Behboudi showcased exceptional skills, netting all nine goals for Master Paints. On the opposing side, Argentina's Nicholas Roberts demonstrated his prowess by converting all eight goals for DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel. The second match of the day proved to be a nail-biter as Pebble Breaker secured a hard-fought win against Barry's Polo with a scoreline of 6½-5. Abdul Rehman Monnoo led the charge with three goals, while Bilal Haye contributed two, and Agha Musa Ali Khan added one for Pebble Breaker, which held a half-goal handicap advantage. Raja Jalal Arslan notched three goals, and Ibrahim Khalil scored a brace for Barry's Polo.

Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: FG/Din Polo edged out DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel by 8-7½ in the main final of the Maj Gen Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup 2023, sponsored by JS Bank, here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday. The special guests on this occasion were former Army Chief General Jahangir Karamat (R) and Mrs. Maj Gen Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua. General's family, son Brig Badr-uz-Zaman (R), Club Secretary Maj Ali Taimur (R) and a large number of spectators were present on the occasion. The match between FG/Din Polo and DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel proved a clash of titans and after a very tough fight, team FG/Din Polo emerged winners by a narrow margin of 8-7½. Juan Cruz Greguol was the hero of the day from the winning side, as he fired in five goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar slammed in three goals for FG/Din Polo. Nicholas Roberts played well for DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel by contributing three goals while Daniyal Shaikh added two and Col Omer Minhas (R) and Osman Aziz Anwar one goal each. Talking to media after registering title victory, Mian Abbas Mukhtar of FG/Din Polo said: “We are happy to have played the first final of the season and thanks to Allah Almighty, we have won it. We will play and plan better to win the upcoming tournaments as well.” FG/Din Polo’s Farhad Sheikh said that they played with a good game plan, which resulted in the title triumph. “We are keen to continue performing well in the coming tournaments and win more titles for our team.” Earlier in the subsidiary final, Master Paints outpaced Master Paints/Newage Cables by 9-5½.

Taimur Ali Malik showcased exceptional skill by scoring three goals, with Jorge Antonio Vasquez scoring the remaining one goal for Lahore Polo Club. On the American side, William G Boland netted twice, and Carter Robert Carnegie added one goal.The closing ceremony was graced by Maleeha Shahnawaz as the chief guest, who awarded prizes to the talented players. The event attracted a significant gathering of club members and their families.

From team Lexington Polo Club, William G Boland and Jorge Antonio Vasquez contributed with two goals each while Michael Lawrence Frank struck the remaining one goal. From Lahore Polo Club team, Alman Jalil Azam and Faisal Shehzad converted two goals each while Taimur Mawaz pumped in the remaining one. The second exhibition match will be played on Saturday.Meanwhile, on the other hand, two important matches will be played in Lipton Polo Club today (Thursday). The players of the visiting American team met President Lahore Polo Club Malik Azam Hayat Noon and executive committee members of the club, and expressed their delight of playing at such a historic polo ground. “We have come here from America to play polo on the invitation of Lahore Polo Club. It's great to be here and play polo on a historic polo ground,” they added.

The day's festivities also included a classic car parade and an archery competition.The main final lived up to its reputation as an enthralling encounter. After a hard-fought battle, Team Remounts emerged victorious with a final score of 9-5. The Argentinian sensation, Abelenda, representing Team Remounts, displayed exceptional prowess by scoring impressive six goals. His teammates, including Mohammad Naeem, Shahid Imran, and Hamza Iqbal, contributed with one goal each. On the opposing side, Juan Cruz Greguol led the charge for FG/Din Polo with a remarkable hat-trick, while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Mian Abbas Mukhtar each scored one goal.In the subsidiary final, Team Diamond Paints registered a 9-6½ victory over DS/Sheikhoo Steel. Raja Temur Nadeem showcased outstanding performance by firing four incredible goals for Diamond Paints.
