Attock Sports and AZ Real Estate Islamabad teams reach in semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI: The Attock Sports and AZ Real Estate Islamabad teams have moved into the semifinals of Naya Nazimabad Bankers Cup Ramadan Cricket Tournament after winning their respective quarterfinal matches here. The last two quarter-finals at the Naya Nazimabad Cricket Stadium were low-scoring. Attock Sports defeated Arham CC by 27 runs. Attock Sports posted 130 runs on the board. Shoaib Ahmed played an innings of fifty-three runs off thirty-one balls. Nihal Rashid and Waleed Azim dismissed two players each. In response, the team of Arham Cricket Club was dismissed on 103 runs. Kashif Bhatti took four wickets and Shahid Mirani took two wickets. Chief guest Faisal Bank President Yousuf Hussain presented Man of the Match Award to Shoaib Ahmed of Attock Sports. Yusuf Hussain said that his organization would continue to sponsor sports. On this occasion, Chairman Naya Nazimabad Arif Habib said that he wished that Naya Nazimabad was introduced as a sports city. Later in the fourth quarter-final, AZ Real Estate Islamabad overcame Hella Dos team by 2 runs in an exciting contest. AZ Real Estate scored 126 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated overs. Owais Zia scored 25 runs and Rizwan Ali scored 22 runs. Tahir Wazir took two wickets. In pursuit of the target, Hella Doss team scored 124 runs for nine wickets. Obaid Ibrahim scored fifty two runs. Mohammad Azan took three wickets while Mohammad Ismail and Abdullah Amin took two wickets each. Abdullah Amin was declared Man of the Match. The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday.

Omar Associates and Kent Warriors qualified for the semifinals Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI: The Omar Associates and Kent Warriors have qualified for the semifinals of the Naya Nazimabad Bankers Cup Ramadan Cricket Tournament after winning their respective quarterfinal matches here at Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana cricket ground on Friday. Real Time Islamabad scored only 91 runs in 20 overs after batting first, as Asad Afridi was the top scorer with 30 runs. Ghulam Mudassar got 2 wickets while Mohammad Asghar dismissed two batters. Omar Associates achieved the target at the loss of six wickets in the sixteenth over. Danish Aziz scored 25 runs, Usama Baloch scored 23 runs and Mohammad Nafee scored 20. Saadullah took three wickets. The chief guest Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Managing Director Engineer Syed Salahuddin presented the man of the match award to Ghulam Mudassar. CEO Naya Naizamabad Samad Habib and President Naya Naizamabad Gymkhana Syed Mohammad Talha were also present on this occasion. Later, in the second quarterfinal, Kent Warriors easily outclassed Passion Cricket Club by six wickets. The team of Passion Club, while batting, piled up for 84 runs in the 19th over. Lal Kumar took three wickets while Sohail Khan and Asif Mehmood took two wickets each. In response, Kent Warriors achieved the target in the twelfth over with the loss of four wickets. Akhtar Khan scored forty nine runs. Musa Malik dismissed two players. Lal Kumar was adjudged Man of the Match. Both the semi-finals of the tournament will be played on Saturday. The final will be on Sunday.

20-K Cup 2023: Ludhiana Gymkhana win coveted trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Ludhiana Gymkhana Cricket Club won the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament title after defeating Cricket Center Cricket Club by 47 runs in the final played here at the Model Town Greens Ground on Saturday. Ludhiana Gymkhana took a flying start as they stitched some good partnerships to pile up a decent total of 163 for 5 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Asim Ali Nasir was the hero of the match as he played a sensational knock of 54 runs off 35 balls that included a good number of boundaries and sixes.  The other key contributors from the winning team, who batted with authority and struck significant runs were Mohammad Waqas, hammered 48-ball 53 runs, and Fahad Munir, who slammed 27 runs. Mohammad Ali bowled well for Cricket Center Center and bagged two wickets for 32 runs while Usama Mir got one wicket. Cricket Center couldn’t chase the required target because of some irresponsible batting displays by their players, who also failed to create a big partnership that might save their sinking ship. The losing side could score just 116 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.  Bilawal Iqbal was top scorer from Cricket Center as he scored 32 runs off 27 balls while Ali Zafar played 26 balls to gather only 18 runs. No other batters could add significant runs in their team’s total, which lost the final by 47 runs. Kashif Saddiuqe bowled well and clinched three wickets for 12 runs while Muhammad Junaid grabbed three wickets for 31 and Intasar Ali got one wicket. Asim Ali Nasir emerged as player of the final. Speaking on the occasion, Nabeel Ahmad said that the purpose of conducting this event, which was named after my father Col Fateh Sher Khan, was to provide the club cricketers a big platform to showcase their talent and earn big prize money. “This event has not only encouraged the talented youth to exhibit their prowess while playing against first class and international players but also motivated the club organizers to hold such huge club cricket events in professional manner with the aim of taking club cricket to new heights. “I will continue to support club cricket in Pakistan and besides holding this annual event, I will also try to provide some other big opportunities to them so that they may excel at higher level and earn good name and international laurels for Pakistan,” said Nabeel, who himself is a first class cricketer. Dawood Barry, President Managing Committee of Cooperative Model Town Society, along with Nabeel Ahmad, sponsor and patron of the 20-K Cup 2023, graced the prize distribution ceremony as chief guests and distributed prizes among the winners and top performers in the presence of galaxy of former Test cricketers Misbah ul Haq, Abdul Razzaq, Aizaz Cheema, Mohammad Ilyas as well as Mohammad Mushtaq, Shoaib Dar, Wahab Dar, Bilal Javaid, Kashif Butt, Farhan Nisar and others.

Cricket Center set final clash with Ludhiana Gymkhana in 20-K Cup
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Cricket Center Cricket Club set final clash with Ludhiana Gymkhana Cricket Club after routing Model Town Greens by 6 wickets in the second semifinal played here at the Model Town Greens Ground on Friday. Model Town Greens, batting first, posted a decent total of 176 for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Awais Zafar batted with authority and slammed 55 runs off 37 balls, while Bilal Dar, hero of the last match of the team, contributed with 23-ball 44 runs and Taimoor Sultan gathered 39 runs off 35 balls. Usama Mir claimed 2 wickets for 38 runs while Ali Zafar and Bilawal Iqbal got one wicket each. Cricket Center replied strongly and comfortably chased the target in 19 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Ali Zafar was the man, who played sensational knock of 47 runs off 36 balls while his teammates Ameer Hamza and Mohammad Waheed also batted well and contributed with 38 and 37 runs respectively. For Model Town Greens, Waris Khan, Usman Khalid and Ahmad Arif took one wicket each.  For his all-round performance, Ali Zafar of Cricket Center was adjudged as player of the match, who was handed over the award by Bilal Javaid, nephew of the sponsor of the event, Nabeel Ahmad, son of Col Fateh Sher Khan. Model Town Greens thump Golden Star to complete semifinal lineup
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Model Town Greens thumped Golden Star Cricket Club by 7 wickets in the fourth and last quarterfinal to complete the semifinal lineup in the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament.  Besides Model Town Greens, the other three semifinalist teams are Model Town Club, Ludhiana Gymkhana and Cricket Center. The fourth quarterfinal was to be played at Pindi Gymkhana, but due to wet outfield, the match was shifted to Model Town Green Ground. Golden Star Club, batting first, posted 175 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Abdul Samad played the superb knock of 56 runs of 46 balls with the help of four boundaries and one six. Ali Raza also batted with authority and cracked 34, Raees Butt unbeaten 31 and Azzam ul Haq 22 runs. Ateeq ur Rehman bowled brilliantly and clinched 4 wickets for 33 runs.  Outstanding batting performance by Bilal Dar helped Model Town Greens chase the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Bilal played impressive unbeaten knock of 72 runs off 52 balls that included four boundaries and three sixes. Other notable performers were Abdul Wahab Dar (47 runs) and Muhammad Kashif (37), who helped the side reach home safely. From Golden Star, Sadaqat and M Naveed got one wicket each. Bilal Dar was declared player of the match for his superb batting performance.  The first semifinal will be contested between Model Town Club and Ludhiana Gymkhana Cricket Club on Thursday (January 26) while the second semifinal will be played between Cricket Center Cricket Club and Model Town Greens on Friday (January 27). Both the semifinals will be played at Model Town Greens Ground at 11:00 am.

Nasrullah stars as Model Town Club breeze into semifinals in 20-K Cup
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Nasrullah Zia’s sensational 77 runs steered Model Town Club to a thrashing 9-wicket win over Shahkamal Cricket Club in the third quarterfinal of the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament here at the Model Town Greens ground on Tuesday. Shahkamal Club, batting first, were all out for 131 runs in 19.3 overs. Imran Nazir Jr emerged as top scorer with 42 runs off 45 balls, hitting 3 boundaries and 1 sixes while the other key contributors were Mohammad Abdullah and Sheraz Ali, who slammed 37 and 27 runs respectively. No other Shahkamal Club batter could cross the doubles figures and fell cheaply. Afaq Afridi bowled well for Model Town Club and grabbed 3 wickets for 16 runs while Mohsin Irshad and Hassan Rizwan bagged 2 wickets each. Model Town Club started their run-chase in great style and comfortably achieved the required target, losing just one wicket in 16 overs. Opener Haider fell cheaply for 13 runs while player of the match Nasrullah Zia hammered superb unbeaten 77 runs off 48 runs that included 6 fours and 4 sixes. Mohammad Saleem also remained unbeaten for 31 runs off 34 balls. From Shahkamal, the only wicket was claimed by Usman Ali. On Wednesday (January 25), the fourth and last quarterfinal will be played between Golden Star Cricket Club and Model Town Greens Cricket Academy at Pindi Gymkhana Cricket Ground at 11:00 am.

20-K Cup: Cricket Center beat City Gymkhana to reach semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Cricket Center Cricket Club reached the semifinals of the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament after beating City Gymkhana Cricket Club by 5 wickets in the first quarterfinal played here at the Pindi Gymkhana Cricket Ground on bright sunny Sunday.  City Gymkhana, batting first, posted 182 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Rizwan emerged as top scorer as he smashed superb 70 runs off 40 balls with the help of 8 fours and 5 sixes while another opener Muaz Zahid scored 52-ball 57 runs, hitting 7 boundaries and 3 sixes. Mohammad Bilal remained unbeaten for 25 runs. Muhammad Ali’s excellent spell of 4-24 restricted their opponents from piling up 200 plus target. Bilawal Iqbal also secured one scalp for 41 runs.  Cricket Center successfully chased the target of 183 runs in 19 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Mohammad Waheed played impressive knock of 58 runs off 36 balls while Ameer Hamza hammered 38, Imran Butt 29 and Ali Zafar unbeaten 29 runs. Abdul Rehman bowled well for City Gymkhana and bagged 2 wickets for 29.  For his outstanding bowling performance, Test cricketer Mohammad Ali was named player of the match. On Monday (January 23), the second quarterfinal will be played between Ali Garh Cricket Club and Ludhiana Gymkhana Cricket Club here at the Model Town Greens ground at 11:00 am.

Pak Lions win last league match of 20-K Cup
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Pak Lions outshone Pindi Gymkhana Cricket Club by 69 runs in the last league match of the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament here on Saturday at Pindi Gymkhana Ground. The quarterfinals will commence on Sunday (January 22). The first quarterfinal of this prestigious event will be contested between City Gymkhana Cricket Club and Cricket Center Cricket Club here at the Pindi Gymkhana Cricket Ground at 11:00 am. The victory of Pak Lions had no impact on the standings of the team as they couldn’t qualify for the quarterfinals.  Ali Umar’s brilliant unbeaten knock of 105 runs off 54 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and 6 sixes is the highlight of the exciting last league match of the one of the premier club tournaments of the country, that carries highly lucrative prize money on offer for the winners and top performers. It will also play a key role in the promotion and betterment of club cricket in the country. Nabeel Ahmad, who himself is a former first-class cricketer, has been organizing this tournament in the memory of his late father, Col Fateh Sher Khan. Pak Lions, batting first, posted a mammoth total of 233-6 in allotted 20 overs, thanks to superb century by hero of the day Ali Umar. Abdullah Zubair also contributed well in the team’s total by hitting 69 runs off 41 balls and Haris Khan unbeaten 20 off 7 ball. Asfand Mehran and Awaix Malik bagged 2 wickets each while Ali Ansar and Umair Anjum got one wicket each.   Pindi Gymkhana, in reply, could score 164-6 in 20 overs. Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Cricket Center Club, City Gymkhana Cricket Club and Ludhiana Gymkhana Club recorded contrasting wins in the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament here at various venues on Friday. Superb all-round performance of Bilal Asif (37 runs & 2-17) helped Cricket Center Club defeat Shinning Club by 3 wickets in the 37th match of the tournament. Shinning Club, batting first, scored 131-9 in 20 overs. Umar Dar and Ali Raza hammered 36 runs each while Zain Bin Farooq hit 20 runs. Bilal Asif and M Waheed bagged 2 wickets each.  Cricket Center replied strongly and chased the target in 18.3 overs, losing 7 wickets. Bilal Asif slammed 37 runs while Ali Zafar hit 28 and Tariq Nawaz 20. Usman Ali took 2 wickets and Hammad Ali and Ali Hamza got one wicket each.  All-rounder Jahangir Mirza (33 runs & 2-14) steered City Gymkhana to a thrashing 72-run triumph over Prince Club in the 38th match of the tournament. City Gymkhana, batting first, posted a huge total of 180-8 in 20 overs with Jahangir Mirza smashing superb 33 runs while Rana Arslan and Waseem Akram contributed with 25 and 21 runs respectively. Zeerak Ghazi and Ammar Tariq grabbed 2 wickets each.  Prince Club failed to chase the target and could score 108-8 in 20 overs. Only Shoaib Arshad (24) and Shams ud Din (28) batted sensibly. Jahangir Mirza claimed 2-14 while Rana Arslan and Usama Tariq got one wicket each.  Fahad Munir (39 runs) batted Ludhiana Gymkhana to a convincing 6-wicket victory over Shah Faisal Club in a low-scoring 39th match of the tournament. Shah Faisal, batting first, could score 94 runs in 20 overs. Ali Manzoor cracked unbeaten 32 runs while Muhammad Ilyas hit 32. Imran Ali, Tanveer Aslam and Kashif Siddique took one wicket each. Ludhiana Gymkhana comfortably chased the target in 10.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Fahad Munir thrashed tremendous 39 runs while M Waqas scored 26 runs and Asim Ali Nasir unbeaten 22. Subhan Malik bagged 2 wickets for 10 runs. The only match of Saturday (January 21, 2023) will be played between Pindi Gymkhana and Pak Lions.

Model Town Whites, City Gymkhana, Ali Garh triumphant in K-20 Cup
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Model Town Whites, City Gymkhana Cricket Club and Ali Garh Cricket Club emerged as triumphant in the K-20 Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament matches played on Thursday.  All-rounder Naveed Malik excelled in Model Town Whites’ thrashing 9-wicket victory over Yu Slim Club in the 34th match of the tournament. Naveed Malik not only smashed scintillating 59 runs but also clinched 3 wickets for 16 runs to emerge as player of the match.  Yu Slim Club, batting first, could score 119-9 in 20 overs. Safeer Azam struck 43 and Amir Jamil 22 runs. Naveed Malik bagged 3-16, Aon Shahzad 2-20 and Shahab Khan 2-28. Model Town Whites easily chased the target in 10.2 overs, losing just 1 wicket. Naveed Malik hammered 59 and Aon Shahzad hit 40. Majid Majeed took the only wicket.  A brilliant batting performance by Rana Arslan steered City Gymkhana to a 20-run win over Lucky Star Club in the 35th match. Rana Arslan not only cracked classic 75 runs but also got one wicket that helped him become a player of the match.  City Gymkhana, batting first, posted a huge total of 186-10 in 20 overs. Rana Arslan was top scorer with 75 runs while Muhammad Bilal scored 47 and Rizwan Haider 30 runs. M Subhan bowled extremely well and clinched 6-10 while Daniyal Hanif took 2-25. Lucky Star could score 166-8 in 20 overs. Zain ul Hassan slammed 61 while Junaid Ali hit 39 and Zeeshan Khadim 24 runs. Saad Athar grabbed 4-20 and Abdul Rehman took 3-29.  Zeeshan Ashraf guided Ali Garh Club to a thumping 8-wicket triumph over Shah Faisal Club in the 36th match. Zeeshan Ashraf was in sublime form and hammered 70 runs to emerge as man of the match.  Shah Faisal Club, batting first, scored 128 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. M Ilyas scored 27 runs, Gohar Hafeez 19 and Naimat Ullah 17 runs. Faraz Ahmad claimed 3 wickets for 40. Ali Garh comfortably chased the target in 14.3 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets. Zeeshan Ashraf made superb 75 and Nouman Ali 41 runs.  On Friday (20th January 2023), three matches will be played. Cricket Center will play against Shinning Club in the 37th match of the tournament at Model Town Greens ground, Prince Cricket Club will compete against City Gymkhana Cricket Club in the 38th match at Ittefaq Cricket Ground while in the 39th match of the tournament at Model Town Club, Shah Faisal Cricket Club will vie against Ludhiana Gymkhana Cricket Club.
