PTV New Center and PTV Headquarters set to meet in final on Saturday

ISLAMABAD: PTV New Centre and PTV Headquarters set to meet on Saturday in the final of the Inter-Department cricket tournament after winning their respective semifinals on Friday.
In the first semifinal, PTV News Center defeated PTV Sports by 40 runs in a 10 overs per innings fixture. PTV New Center scored 96 for 3 in 10 overs. Asad Nawaz 34 not out (22 balls) and Ahmed Nawaz 32 (30 balls) were the main scorers. Fahim Butt, Mohammad Asif and Abdullah Tenvir got one wicket each.
PTV Sports XIs could score just 56 runs in 9.4 overs. Only two batters could touch the double figures. Khurram scored 22 and Fahim Butt scored 17 runs. Ahmed Nawaz sent five opposite batters back into the hut after conceding only 7 runs. Arsalan Saeed got three wickets.
Later, in the second semifinal, the PTV Headquarter team beat PTV Home by six wickets to reach the final. PTV Home batters could score just 35 for 6 runs in 10 overs. Zarar Khan contributed 13 runs. Waqas and Numan shared two wickets each.
PTV Headquarter batters reached their target on the penultimate delivery of the 7th over. Wajhat hit 10 while Ibrahim 8 runs. Owais grabbed three wickets while Rab Nawaz chipped in one. The final will be played on Saturday to decide the champions.
Showbiz XIs defeat Askari XIs by 8 wickets in an exhibition cricket match

ISLAMABAD (December 30, 2022): Showbiz XIs outclassed Askari XIs by 8 wickets in an exhibition cricket match here at Islamabad Club cricket ground on Friday.
Film and TV artists and ex-military officers and others enjoyed the exhibition cricket match. The Showbiz XIs were led by the talented Faisal Qureshi, while the Askari XIs were led by Major (retd) Ahmed Nadeem Sadal.
After winning the toss and playing first, Askari XI scored 128 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Major (R) Hasnain 26 and Colonel (R) Mansoor were outstanding with 25 runs. Mohsen Awan took 2 wickets and Ijaz Aslam took 1 wicket each on behalf of Showbiz XIs.
Showbiz XIs achieved at the loss of two wickets. Kamran Khan scored 60 runs not out while Daniyal scored 40 runs. Wicketkeeper Abeer Amjad performed brilliantly. He took two catches and one stump behind the wickets.
The special guest in the prize distribution ceremony was Lieutenant General (Retd) Munir Hafeez, winner trophy Shobar XI captain Faisal Qureshi while D-Concept's Daniyal Arshad, Samiralias and Umeer Zai gave the runner-up trophy to Askari XI captain Major (R) Ahmed Nadeem Sadal.
Shifa International Hospital Islamabad beat Jaguars XIs by 39 runs

ISLAMABAD: The Shifa International Hospital Islamabad beat Jaguars XIs by 39 runs in the Champions League Cricket Tournament match here at Ghouri Cricket Ground F-11 Islamabad.
Jaguars Captain won the toss and invited to Shifa International team batting. Shifa International piled up 197 for 9 runs in the allotted 30 overs. Azmat Bashir 38, Shahzad Kiani 36, Irfan Khan 25, Captain Qutab Uddin Qureshi 23 and Nasir Mehmood 21 runs were their leading run-getters. Jaguars XI Saad (3 for 31), Sohail Qaiser (3 for 40) and Usman Khaleequ (2 for 41) were the other main wicket-takers.
In reply, Jaguars XIs were bowled out for 158 runs in the 28th overs, Bedar (40), Usman Khaleequ (28) and Taha Kiani 24 were their main scorers. Imtiaz Alam bowled well and claimed 2 wickets for 17 runs in 6 overs, while Ali Mubashir (2 for 21), Tahir Akhtar (2 for 26) and Irfan Khan (2 for 36) bowled well for Shifa International. Azmat Bashir was declared “Man of the Match” for his impressive Performance.

ISLAMABAD: Batsman Mannan Abbasi guided Shifa International Hospital Islamabad to 134 runs victory against Renegades Cricket team in a Champions League Cricket Tournament match here at Mumtaz City Cricket Ground Islamabad.
Shifa International Captain Qutab Uddin Qureshi won the toss and elected to bat first, Shifa International piled up 262 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 30 overs. Mannan Abbasi hit a fine century 100 runs 61 balls with 7 six and 6 fours, while Shahzad Kiani (56), Imtiaz Alam (36), Nasir Mahmood (17) and Captain Qutab Uddin Qureshi (8) were their leading run-getters. Yasir (3 for 45) and Faheem (1 for 44) were the other main wicket-takers.
In reply, Renegades were bowled out for 128 runs in the 25th over, Younis (26), Asif (20) and Faisal 16 were their main scorers. ISLAMABAD: Shifa International Hospital Islamabad beat Panthers Cricket Club by 137 runs in the friendly here at Margallah Cricket Ground Islamabad.
Panthers Club Captain won the toss and invited to bat first Shifa International, Shifa International bowled out for 268 in the 30th overs, Batsman Azmat Bashir hit a fine century 115 runs 77 balls with three six and 13 fours, while Mohammad Naseer (45), Salman Khan Kundi (28) and Imtiaz (17) were their leading run-getters. Panthers Club Atif (4 for 53), Hafi (2 for 40) and Akbar (2 for 44) were the other main wicket-takers.
In reply, Panthers Club could score 131 for seven in 30 overs. Asif 32, Umar Jilani 23 and Akbar 22 were the key contributors. Salman Khan Kundi bowled well and claimed 2 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs. Azmat Bashir was declared “Man of the Match” for his impressive Performance.
Amateur Premier League: Islamabad Vikings become Champion

ISLAMABAD:-Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with Municipal Committee Islamabad (MCI) organized Amateur Premier Cricket League Tournament at F-9 Park Ground Islamabad. 12 cricket teams of the capital city took part in the tournament that was finally won by Islamabad Vikings.
According to an official, Islamabad Vikings lifted the title after defeating Dhamyal Thanders in the final, who received Rs.100 thousands as winning prize money along with a shining trophy. Runner-up team captain got Rs. 50,000 with Trophy.
Choudary Shahzad, Assistant Director of Sports CDA, Rizwan Sarwar, Assistant Director Sports & Culture graced the ceremoney as guests of honours.

“It was a nice tournament, which was staged first in the history of Islamabad under the floodlights and It was a nice opportunity for the players to show their game. All organizers worked hard to make this tournament successful. Naeem Sardar also worked day and night for this event”.

PCB Under-19 Tournament: Quetta and Qila Abdullah earn victories

Quetta (Pakistan):-Quetta and Qila Abdullah have won their matches in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Under-19 City Cricket Tournament after beating their opponents at two different cricket arenas in Quetta, Balochistan.
A spectacular match at Balochistan Bugti Stadium was played between Quetta and Khuzdar Under-19 teams. Quetta CCA captain won the toss and asked Khuzdar to play first. They could score only 69 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Abdul Haseeb scored 12 runs for Khuzdar. Mohammad Qasim got four wickets while Umer and Abdullah Khan shared each two. Zeeshan took 1 wicket. In reply, Quetta CCA batters played brilliantly. Sameer Ahmed scored 25 not out while Usman Ghani scored 23 runs. Quetts finished the match with a 9 wickets victory. Sultan Mehmood and Mumtaz Ali supervised the match while Mohammad Anwar Khilji was the official scorer.
The other match of the day was played at Fatima Jinnah Cricket Ground between Qila Abdullah and Pishin. Qila Abdullah CCA, after winning the toss, the captain decided to bat first and they set a target of 212 runs in the stipulated 50 overs on the scoreboard. In reply, Pishin CCA cricket team was bowled out for 194. Mohammad Ismail scored 32 and Saboor scored 28 in the second innings. Qila Abdullah won by 18 runs. PCB Under-19: Lorlai defeat Turbat by 245 runs

Quetta (Pakistan):-District Lorlai defeated Turbat by 245 runs in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Under-19 Balochistan City Cricket Tournament at Bugti Cricket Stadium, Quetta.
Lorlai cricket team captain won the toss and seceded to bat first. District Lorlai scored 340 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Dunya Khan was top scorer 128 runs for the winning team.
Turbat could score just 94 runs. Lorlai won the match by 241 runs. Top umpires Mohammad Akram and Hadyat-Ullah supervised the match while Ali Ahmed performed the duties of official scorer. (Thanks to Abdullah for picture)
Markhor Cricket League Tape Ball Festival starts from March 21, 2022

RAWALPINDI:-The Markhor Cricket League (MCL) Tape Ball Cricket Festival will start from March 21, 2022 at Ayub Park Cricket Ground Rawalpindi, as the overseas teams will also take part in the prestigious tournament.
Chairman Markhor Cricket League (MCL), Sardar Saifullah Abbasi informed the media while unfolding the details of the tournament that four overseas teams including Dubai Whales, UK Rams, Pak-Qatar Dyx and Eshaal Falcons would compete in the Tape Ball Cricket Festival. Former Test cricketer Mohammad Khalil and Marketing Director Ali Nawaz were also present on the occasion.
A total of 34 matches will be played in MCL. The opening ceremony will be held at Ayub Cricket Ground Rawalpindi while the final of the event will be played on March 29 at the same venue. “Pakistani cricket fans love to watch Tape Ball Cricket, “said Abbasi.
Former Test cricketer Mohammad Khalil said that Season 3 would be an event full of entertainment.

ISLAMABAD:-CFU Blues defeated CFU Reds by 62 runs in a match played at Al-Muslim cricket ground F-11 Islamabad on Wednesday. The aim of this practice match was to train the Cricket Federation Uzbekistan (CFU) Team for upcoming fixtures of the tour.
CFU Reds won the coin battle and decided to put challengers CFU Blues into bat first. Blues piled-up 219 runs in 30 overs per innings fixture. Atif Oryakhail was top scorer with 86 runs not out and smashed seven fours and five sixes in his 40 balls innings. Tariq Safi made 55 runs in 54 balls while Saleem Khan 38 runs in 33 balls. Mohammad Imran (3 for 39), Najeeb Ullah (2 for 49) and Ashan Ullah (2 for 39) were top performer with the ball for CFU Reds.
In reply, CFU Reds could score 157 runs, as only Mohammad Hasan could face the bowling opponents and played a nice inning of 72 runs with the help of seven fours and couple of maximum hits. Mirwais Khan claimed four wickets for winners after conceding just 25 runs while Sher Khan chipped in three wickets for 21 runs.
