ISLAMABAD (October 20, 2021):-Sri Lanka beat low ranked Ireland by 70 runs in the ICC Men’s T 20 World cup 2021 match at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Sri Lankan team scored 171 for 7 runs in 20 overs fixture. Lankan middle order batter Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was top scorer in the match. He scored 70 runs in 47 balls. He knocked 10 fours and a solitary six. Opener right handed batter Pathum Nissanka played 61 runs innings in only 47 delivers .He smashed 6 fours and single six while Lankan Captain Dasun Shanaka make 21 runs in 11 balls.
Ireland’s passer Josh Little picked up 4 wickets for 24 runs. Al rounder Paul Stirling took 1 wicket and conceded just 4 runs while Mark Adair grabbed 2 for 35.
In reply, Ireland’s cricket team got all out in 101 runs in the chase of 172 runs target. Ireland’s batter Andy Balbirnie scored 41 runs in39 balls and hit two huge sixes and four. Lankan bowler Maheesh Theekshana got 3 wickets for 17. Lahiru Kumara, Chamika Karunaratne took two wickets each.
