Arshad Nadeem Unveils Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games 2024 Trophy
Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games to commence on Saturday at Pakistan Sports ComplexIslamabad (By Abdul Jabbar Faisal): The 3rd edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games 2024 will get underway on Saturday (December 14) here at Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), as the unveiling trophy ceremony took place on Friday in a colourful ceremony.The trophy was unveiled by Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist, Arshad Nadeem, who expressed his enthusiasm and encouragement for the young athletes during the event. The ceremony was also attended by the Director General PSB Yasir Pirzada. The grand opening ceremony of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games will take place on Saturday at the PSB. Arshad Nadeem said on this occasion: "This is a major step towards the promotion of sports in Pakistan. It will provide young athletes with an excellent opportunity to showcase their talents, and I am hopeful that this platform will produce international-level players for the country."DG, PSB Yasir Pirzada said: "The purpose of this event is to highlight the existing sports talent in the country and provide them with opportunities to grow. We are optimistic that these competitions will play a pivotal role in bringing new talent to the forefront."The top national male and female athletes of different sports disciplines from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Islamabad will fights for the medals in 15 sports including athletics, badminton, boxing, football, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, squash, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling.

The week-long festivities brought together students, faculty, and their families in a vibrant display of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community spirit.  Cricket Finals: A Display of Talent and Strategy: The day began at 9:00 AM with the highly anticipated cricket finals. The Faculty of Management Sciences triumphed in the boys' final with a stellar performance, while the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities clinched victory in the girls' final. The matches concluded at 1:00 PM, with players and spectators alike energized by the thrilling competition. Family Gala: Fun and Togetherness: At 11:00 AM, the Family Gala began, adding a festive atmosphere to the campus. Families of faculty and staff enjoyed a variety of games, activities, and food stalls. From face painting and ring toss to a wide array of delicious cuisines, the gala catered to all age groups and brought everyone together in a spirit of joy and camaraderie. Closing Ceremony: Celebrating Achievements: The day culminated with the grand closing ceremony at 2:30 PM. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by an address by Dr. Hasan Raza, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Science, and Technology (FEST) and Convener of Sports Week 2024. Dr. Hasan commended the participants and organizers for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork, and resilience.The Director General of HUIC delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging students to carry the same spirit of determination into all aspects of their lives. Pakistan Army marksmen win Central Meet Rifle Shooting contests
Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army have won the overall Championship Trophy contests of the 44th Pakistan Army Rifle Association Central Meet that concluded at the Army Marksmanship Unit in Jhelum on Thursday.According to a press release of ISPR, in the Inter Services matches, Pakistan Army won three contests including Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) matches, while Pakistan Air Force (PAF) won the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) contest.Over 2000 shooters from Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Armed Forces including Rangers, Federal Rifle Association, Lahore Garrison Shooting Gallery and civilians participated in the competition. FTR team trophy was won by Pakistan Army led by Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez.The President's Cup National Challenge match trophy was awarded to Naik Waseem Ahmed Khan of Pakistan Army. Pakistan Air Force won the Prime Minister 'Skills at Arms' Big Bore National Challenge. Azad Kashmir Regiment won the first prize in para firing matches (infantry squad).The highest military shooting honor, 'The Master at Arms' Trophy was awarded to Sepoy Aftab Ahmed of Punjab Regiment. The 'Best Shot Match Trophy' Group 2 and Group 3 was awarded to Lance Dafadar Mohammad Imran of Cavalry and Havaldar Fateh Ullah Khan of EME Battalion.Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir graced the occasion as chief guest of the mega shooting event, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu was the guest of honor at the ceremony. Interacting with the participants, General Syed Asim Munir appreciated the players for their excellent standards of marksmanship.

Sports Bulletin ReportDubai (UAE): Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi emerged victorious in the DP World ILT20 Schools Cup 2024, claiming the championship with a thrilling six-run win over Gems Modern Academy, Dubai. The closely contested final at the ICC Academy, marked a fitting highlight for day one of the DP World ILT20 Junior Cricket Festival. Put in first, Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi posted 157/2 in 20 overs. Openers Prithvi Madhu and Yayin Kiran set the tone, scoring half centuries of 65 and 58 runs respectively. In the death overs, Ishaan Sujay Rai contributed a vital knock of 15 runs in just five balls. In response, Gems Modern Academy, Dubai fell short of the target to finish at 151/8 in 20 overs. Aryan Thapar top scored with 47 runs, while Sanjith Ram and Jaidev Gattani also made contributions of 26 and 24 runs respectively. Yayin Kiran Rai was lethal with the ball as well, picking up two wickets for 24 runs. Notably, the innings would see as many as four run outs. 
Karachi Grammar School athletes win Sindh Swimming Championship
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: Karachi Grammar School athletes have won the title 61st Sindh Swimming Championship during the 2-day festival of the Naya Nazimabad Sindh Open and Boys Age Group Swimming competitions held under the banner of the Sindh Swimming Association.Once again the swimmers of Karachi Grammar School dominated the competitions held at the newly constructed beautiful swimming pool of Naya Nazimabad. Karachi Grammar School team won the championship trophy with 1,462 points. Karachi Club secured the second position with 488 points and Bay View School got the third position with 481 points. More than three hundred swimmers from eighteen institutions from across Sindh participated in the event.Special guest Chief Executive Officer Javadan Corporation Limited Abdul Samad Habib distributed the prizes among the players. President Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana Syed Mohammad Talha, President of Sindh Swimming Association Colonel Saeed Ahmed Khan, Secretary Izhar ul Haq, Member of Pakistan Olympic Association Veena Masood, Manager Sports Mohammad Asif and a large number of citizens were also present on this occasion.

PU secure positions in All Pakistan HEC Taekwondo Championship
LAHORE (PR): Punjab University has secured 2nd position in 13th All Pakistan HEC Taekwondo men’s and women’s Championships 2024 held at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. As many as 17 universities participated in the event.Deputy Director Hurria Hussein was the team manager while Wasif Mehmood was assistant manager. Moreover, in the 13th All Pakistan HEC Taekwondo Men Championships 2024 held at University of Central Punjab, Punjab University secured 3rd position. As many as 16 universities took part in the championship. Assistant Director Sports Mohammad Nabeel was the team manager.

Women’s Sports Carnival: Army Public School claim top position

Army Public School Hamayon Road Rawalpindi earned the top position with three gold medals, as they won football, basketball, and table tennis events after showing impressive performance.On this occasion, the Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Andrea Wieck, visited all the stalls in the carnival and appreciated all efforts. Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, Army Public School System Rawalpindi Brigadier Dr. Mohammad Naveed, Federal Board, and Federal Directorate Directors were present on this occasion.Federal Secretary for Education Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani thanked all the participants from the core of the heart and said that he was very happy to see such a large crowd and a successful festival organized for women.In the end, he disbursed cash prizes, medals, and certificates to the sports teams from all the provinces of Pakistan, and congratulated the winning teams.
Girls’ Sports Carnival to start on October 18 in Capital City
Over 4000 female athletes ready to show power in seven different sports disciplinesAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Over 4000 female athletes will participate in the 3-day Girls’ Sports Carnival 2024, which will roll into action on October 18 at Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of the Federal Minister of Education.According to an official, ministry of the education has set all the arrangements to stage a 3-day mega girls’ sports carnival 2024 to be started on October 18 at Pakistan Sports Complex. As many as 4000 female students across the country, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, will participate in Girls Sports Festival in 7 sports. As many as 42 teams will fight for top honour in badminton, table tennis, athletics, volleyball, basketball, football and tennis. Syed Junaid Akhlaq, Senior Joint Secretary and Chairman, Federal Board Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Islamabad, said that the girls’ sports carnival organized by the FBISE and FDE would help bring out the real talent of Pakistan. “This festival will also groom the talent of female students to express their talents and to make headway at domestic and national levels, “he added. He said that for the first in sports events history in Islamabad, girls would perform in a cordial environment under the supervision of women technical officials. He noted that the Youths Education and Sports (YES) Welfare Society would be providing technical support for this mega event.
