Taimur Ali Malik showcased exceptional skill by scoring three goals, with Jorge Antonio Vasquez scoring the remaining one goal for Lahore Polo Club. On the American side, William G Boland netted twice, and Carter Robert Carnegie added one goal.The closing ceremony was graced by Maleeha Shahnawaz as the chief guest, who awarded prizes to the talented players. The event attracted a significant gathering of club members and their families.

The standout performer of the match was Juan Cruz Greguol, who delivered an outstanding performance, contributing six crucial goals. Mian Abbas Mukhtar added two more goals to seal their victory. On the opposing side, Saqib Khan Khakwani and Raja Temur Nadeem managed a brace each, while Mir Shoaib Ahmad secured the remaining goal for Diamond Paints. Exhibition polo match: Lexington Club and Lahore Club play a 5-5 draw
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: An exhibition match between Lexington Polo Club of Kentucky and Lahore Polo Club played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Wednesday and after a tough competition, the enthralling encounter ended in a 5-5 draw.This was the first match of the two exhibition match series that is the part of the ongoing Lipton Polo Cup 2023. From team Lexington Polo Club, William G Boland and Jorge Antonio Vasquez contributed with two goals each while Michael Lawrence Frank struck the remaining one goal. From Lahore Polo Club team, Alman Jalil Azam and Faisal Shehzad converted two goals each while Taimur Mawaz pumped in the remaining one. The second exhibition match will be played on Saturday.Meanwhile, on the other hand, two important matches will be played in Lipton Polo Club today (Thursday). The players of the visiting American team met President Lahore Polo Club Malik Azam Hayat Noon and executive committee members of the club, and expressed their delight of playing at such a historic polo ground. “We have come here from America to play polo on the invitation of Lahore Polo Club. It's great to be here and play polo on a historic polo ground,” they added.

Shah Rafi Alam Polo Cup 2023: Remounts clinch coveted title

Mrs. Tamiz Alam, the esteemed chief guest and wife of the late Gen Shah Rafi Alam, graced the occasion with her presence. Haider Malik of United Bank Limited, Azam Hayat Noon, the President of the Lahore Polo Club, executive committee members, Gen Shah Rafi Alam's family, and many polo enthusiasts joined in to enjoy the high-quality polo showcased during the finals. The day's festivities also included a classic car parade and an archery competition.The main final lived up to its reputation as an enthralling encounter. After a hard-fought battle, Team Remounts emerged victorious with a final score of 9-5. The Argentinian sensation, Abelenda, representing Team Remounts, displayed exceptional prowess by scoring impressive six goals. His teammates, including Mohammad Naeem, Shahid Imran, and Hamza Iqbal, contributed with one goal each. On the opposing side, Juan Cruz Greguol led the charge for FG/Din Polo with a remarkable hat-trick, while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Mian Abbas Mukhtar each scored one goal.In the subsidiary final, Team Diamond Paints registered a 9-6½ victory over DS/Sheikhoo Steel. Raja Temur Nadeem showcased outstanding performance by firing four incredible goals for Diamond Paints. Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Saqib Khan Khakwani added to the tally with three and two goals, respectively. For DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel, which held a half-goal handicap advantage, Nicholas Roberts stood out with five goals, while Lt Col Omer Minhas scored one goal.

Lahore Polo Club President Azam Hayat Noon, alongside executive committee members and Secretary Lt Col (R) Aamir Umar, graced the occasion with their presence. The contest between Remounts and Pebble Breaker proved to be a captivating showdown. As the fourth round commenced, both teams were level at 4-4 goals. In the dying moments, Remounts delivered a spectacular goal, clinching the match with a final score of 5-4. It was Abelenda who shone the brightest, single-handedly contributing all five goals for the victorious Remounts. Bilal Noon and Ahmad Ali Tiwana displayed commendable performances for Pebble Breaker, each adding two goals to the tally. Kicking off the day's events, Diamond Paints showcased their prowess by defeating the Rijas Polo team with a score of 7-2½. Saqib Khan Khakwani was the standout performer, scoring four fabulous goals, while Raja Temur Nadeem and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed secured two and one goal, respectively, for Diamond Paints. Pebble Breaker exhibited exceptional gameplay, ultimately defeating Lahore Smart City with a score of 5-3. Bilal Haye was the standout performer, contributing three crucial goals, while Ahmed Ali Tiwana scored two goals for Pebble Breaker. On the opposing side, Farooq Amin Sufi, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi, and Agha Musa each scored a goal for Lahore Smart City. Agha Musa Ali Khan was the star player for Lahore Smart City, showcasing his skills with four spectacular goals. Hamza Mawaz Khan, representing Remington Pharma with a half-goal handicap advantage, displayed an impressive performance by scoring three goals.The second match of the day saw Rijas Polo defeating Platinum Homes with a score of 5-4½. Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed significantly with three goals for Rijas Polo, while Maj Adil Sultan Rao added two goals to their tally. On the other side, Malik Atif Yar Tiwana of Platinum Homes, with a one and a half goal handicap, displayed a strong performance by scoring three goals.In the third match, Guard Group dominated Team Barry's with an impressive 11-2½ victory. Taimur Ali Malik and Chaudhry Hayat Mehmood led the way for Guard Group, each scoring five goals, while Dominique Theones contributed one goal. With a handicap advantage of one and a half goals, Lt Col (retd) Omer Minhas and Zuraiz Shahzad made significant contributions by scoring three goals each. Bilal Hayat Noon and Phillipa Henry added a brace each to their team's tally. For the Noorpur Bandobast team, Charlotte Amy managed to score three goals, while Taimur Hayat Noon contributed one goal.The second match of the day was an exhilarating contest, with Lahore Smart City narrowly defeating the Master Paints team by a score of 6-5½. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Agha Musa Ali Khan from Lahore Smart City scored hat-tricks each, while Raja Temur Nadeem (three goals) and Sufi Haroon (one goal) were standout performers for the Master Paints team, which held a handicap advantage of one and a half goals.In the third match, DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel faced off against Black Horse Paints. After a fierce competition, DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel emerged victorious with a score of 7-5½. Omar Asjad Malhi was the star of the match, scoring all seven goals for his team. Master Paints, Newage Cables, Rijas Polo, and Platinum Homes post triumphsSports Bulletin ReportLAHORE (October 24, 2023): Master Paints, Newage Cables, Rijas Polo, and Platinum Homes registered victories in the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Polo Tournament 2023, which rolled into action under the banner of Lahore Polo Club (LPC) here on Tuesday, marking a historic occasion for both women's participation and awareness for breast cancer.In the first match of the day, Master Paints edged out ZS team by a narrow margin of 7-6 while in the second match of the day, Newage Cables outpaced Master Paints Black by 8-3½. Rijas Polo defeated Guard Group by 5-3 in the penultimate fixture of the day, as in the last match of the day, Platinum Homes overwhelmed Barry’s by 12½-5.The participating teams are divided into two pools, with Pool A featuring Lahore Smart City, The Noorpur Bandobast, ZS, Master Paints, FG Polo Team, Remington Pharma, and Diamond Paints. Pool B consists of Pebble Breaker, DS Polo/Sheikhoo, Black Horse Paints, Newage Cables, Platinum Homes, Barry’s, Guard Group, and Rijas Polo. Azam Hayat Noon emphasized the landmark nature of this tournament, highlighting the presence of 15 women players in a first-of-its-kind four-goal competition with 15 teams. He underscored the Lahore Polo Club's status as Pakistan's oldest and most esteemed polo club, consistently delivering top-quality matches for polo enthusiasts worldwide. Noon also noted that 15 female players, hailing from countries like America, England, Australia, Holland, and Iran, have converged on Lahore for this significant event, aimed at raising breast cancer awareness under the banner of Pink Ribbon Pakistan. Two Pakistani female players are also participating in this international gathering. Imran Zahid, Chief Operating Officer of Lahore Smart City, highlighted the company's long-standing connection with polo, emphasizing their support for this regal sport and their commitment to spreading awareness about breast cancer through this annual tournament. He pledged to continue endorsing positive activities in the future. Umar Aftab, CEO of Pink Ribbon Pakistan, expressed gratitude to the Lahore Polo Club, Lahore Smart City, and women from around the world for their support in raising awareness for breast cancer. He acknowledged the vital work done by Pink Ribbon Hospital in combating this disease. Saim, Chengiz, Akbar Aurangzeb, Saad Mirza, Mohammad Ali, Hashim display a sparking gameAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD:-Hosts Islamabad Club Junior Polo player overcame tourist Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, United Arabs Emirates (UAE) 6-5 in the second exhibition contest of a 2-match tie here at Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Sunday, as the first match ended a 4-4 draw on Saturday at the same venue.Pakistani players, who were in white shirts, started the game with a bang by scoring the first goal very quickly when Abdullah hit the ball in the goalpost on a pass from Saim Abbas. However, the local guys could not maintain their lead for a long time, as the very next minute when Charlie Matthews scored the goal for UAE. Both teams missed a couple of occasions to get the lead in the first chukker that finished 1-1 square.In the second chukker, Saim Abbas, Saad Mirza, and Chengaz Lagahri were dominating, as joint efforts were made by the Pakistani horsemen. Saad Mirza gave his side 2-1 lead by scoring a tremendous goal. Saim Abbas doubled by making the third goal in the second chukker. Pakistan were ahead 3-1 after the completion of the first half of the match.Hosts players maintained the same pace in the penultimate chukker of the international junior fixture, as they added two more goals to their total. Saim Abbas and Saad Mirza displayed excellent skills of the game of polo and hit the ball right on target and scored 4th and 5th goals respectively. Islamabad Club players were 5-1 ahead after 3rd chukker.The last and final chukker was a thrilling contest, as both teams fought bravely. Although Dubai Club wasted a free penalty back-to-back twice. Later, they succeeded in reducing the deficit by scoring two goals in quick succession. Ayden Al Ahmed, and Charlie Matthews scored two goals each for their team. Hashim Waheed did well in the last chukker with his mallet. Pakistan finished the match at 6-5 to secure the series 1-0.At the closing ceremony, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al-Zaabi was chief guest and he distributed the prizes among the players. Additionally, Islamabad Club Administrator Dr Touqeer Shah, Col Gill, Sohail Shigri, Hashim Asad, Haider Asad, diplomats from various countries, dignitaries, and polo enthusiasts gathered in large numbers to witness and enjoy the enthralling encounter.The Dubai team comprised Hassan Al Abbar, Ayden Al Ahmed, Charlie Matthews, and Harmes Werle, with Lisa Mathews as the team manager and Jan Azam as the team coach. The Islamabad Club Polo Team consisted of Chengiz Khan Leghari, Akbar Aurangzeb, Saad Mirza, Mohammad Ali Malik, Hashim Waheed, and Saim Abbas.
