Lahore Smart City qualify for main final of LSC Polo in Pink Tournament
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE (October 26, 2023): Lahore Smart City qualified for the main final while FG Polo team earned a place in the subsidiary final of the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Tournament 2023 being played here at the Lahore Polo Club.In a thrilling contest, Lahore Smart City clinched their main final berth with a last-minute 4-3½ victory over Remington Pharma. Agha Musa Ali Khan was the star player for Lahore Smart City, showcasing his skills with four spectacular goals. Hamza Mawaz Khan, representing Remington Pharma with a half-goal handicap advantage, displayed an impressive performance by scoring three goals.The second match of the day saw Rijas Polo defeating Platinum Homes with a score of 5-4½. Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed significantly with three goals for Rijas Polo, while Maj Adil Sultan Rao added two goals to their tally. On the other side, Malik Atif Yar Tiwana of Platinum Homes, with a one and a half goal handicap, displayed a strong performance by scoring three goals.In the third match, Guard Group dominated Team Barry's with an impressive 11-2½ victory. Taimur Ali Malik and Chaudhry Hayat Mehmood led the way for Guard Group, each scoring five goals, while Dominique Theones contributed one goal. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana scored both of Team Barry's goals.The path to the finals began with two round-robin matches, ultimately granting FG Polo a spot in the subsidiary finals. FG Polo defeated Diamond Paints 3½-2, and Diamond Paints managed to beat ZS Polo 5-4½. In the final round-robin match, ZS Polo secured a 4½-4 draw against FG Polo, but FG Polo advanced to the subsidiary finals due to a better goal average.

ZS Polo, Lahore Smart City, DS Polo Sheikhoo Steel, and Pebble Breaker register winsSports Bulletin ReportLAHORE (October 25, 2023): The Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Tournament 2023, organized by the Lahore Polo Club, saw four action-packed matches on its third day, as ZS Polo, Lahore Smart City, DS Polo Sheikhoo Steel, and Pebble Breaker registered wins.In the first match of the day, ZS Polo outperformed the Noorpur Bandobast team with a score of 11½-4. With a handicap advantage of one and a half goals, Lt Col (retd) Omer Minhas and Zuraiz Shahzad made significant contributions by scoring three goals each. Bilal Hayat Noon and Phillipa Henry added a brace each to their team's tally. For the Noorpur Bandobast team, Charlotte Amy managed to score three goals, while Taimur Hayat Noon contributed one goal.The second match of the day was an exhilarating contest, with Lahore Smart City narrowly defeating the Master Paints team by a score of 6-5½. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Agha Musa Ali Khan from Lahore Smart City scored hat-tricks each, while Raja Temur Nadeem (three goals) and Sufi Haroon (one goal) were standout performers for the Master Paints team, which held a handicap advantage of one and a half goals.In the third match, DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel faced off against Black Horse Paints. After a fierce competition, DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel emerged victorious with a score of 7-5½. Omar Asjad Malhi was the star of the match, scoring all seven goals for his team. Black Horse Paints, with a handicap advantage of one and a half goals, saw contributions from Sofia Dean Ali Khan, Chaudhry Hassan Mansoor, Ahsan Javed Sher, and Abu Bakar Siddique, with each player scoring one goal.The day concluded with the fourth match, in which Pebble Breaker overcame Newage Cables with a final score of 7-5. Bilal Haye shone as the top scorer for Pebble Breaker, netting four remarkable goals, while Ahmed Ali Tawana scored the remaining three. For Newage Cables, Shah Shamyl Alam converted three goals, and Alman Jalil Azam struck the remaining two goals.

Master Paints, Newage Cables, Rijas Polo, and Platinum Homes post triumphsSports Bulletin ReportLAHORE (October 24, 2023): Master Paints, Newage Cables, Rijas Polo, and Platinum Homes registered victories in the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Polo Tournament 2023, which rolled into action under the banner of Lahore Polo Club (LPC) here on Tuesday, marking a historic occasion for both women's participation and awareness for breast cancer.In the first match of the day, Master Paints edged out ZS team by a narrow margin of 7-6 while in the second match of the day, Newage Cables outpaced Master Paints Black by 8-3½. Rijas Polo defeated Guard Group by 5-3 in the penultimate fixture of the day, as in the last match of the day, Platinum Homes overwhelmed Barry’s by 12½-5.The participating teams are divided into two pools, with Pool A featuring Lahore Smart City, The Noorpur Bandobast, ZS, Master Paints, FG Polo Team, Remington Pharma, and Diamond Paints. Pool B consists of Pebble Breaker, DS Polo/Sheikhoo, Black Horse Paints, Newage Cables, Platinum Homes, Barry’s, Guard Group, and Rijas Polo. Azam Hayat Noon emphasized the landmark nature of this tournament, highlighting the presence of 15 women players in a first-of-its-kind four-goal competition with 15 teams. He underscored the Lahore Polo Club's status as Pakistan's oldest and most esteemed polo club, consistently delivering top-quality matches for polo enthusiasts worldwide. Noon also noted that 15 female players, hailing from countries like America, England, Australia, Holland, and Iran, have converged on Lahore for this significant event, aimed at raising breast cancer awareness under the banner of Pink Ribbon Pakistan. Two Pakistani female players are also participating in this international gathering. Imran Zahid, Chief Operating Officer of Lahore Smart City, highlighted the company's long-standing connection with polo, emphasizing their support for this regal sport and their commitment to spreading awareness about breast cancer through this annual tournament. He pledged to continue endorsing positive activities in the future. Umar Aftab, CEO of Pink Ribbon Pakistan, expressed gratitude to the Lahore Polo Club, Lahore Smart City, and women from around the world for their support in raising awareness for breast cancer. He acknowledged the vital work done by Pink Ribbon Hospital in combating this disease. Among the female players are Sally Cates, Charlotte Amy, Natasha Monica, Isabelle Victoria, Chloe Victoria Horswell, Scarlett Natasha, and Dominique Tinis from England; Sayeda Aafia, Hadithi Soltani, and Sahir Yaqoubi from Iran; Eesha Haye and Sofia Dean Ali Khan from Pakistan; William Meanley from Holland; Philippa Henry from Australia; and Romina Sinclair from America. The women players expressed their honor to participate in the Lahore Polo Club and commended the tournament's positive cause. Saim, Chengiz, Akbar Aurangzeb, Saad Mirza, Mohammad Ali, Hashim display a sparking gameAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD:-Hosts Islamabad Club Junior Polo player overcame tourist Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, United Arabs Emirates (UAE) 6-5 in the second exhibition contest of a 2-match tie here at Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Sunday, as the first match ended a 4-4 draw on Saturday at the same venue.Pakistani players, who were in white shirts, started the game with a bang by scoring the first goal very quickly when Abdullah hit the ball in the goalpost on a pass from Saim Abbas. However, the local guys could not maintain their lead for a long time, as the very next minute when Charlie Matthews scored the goal for UAE. Both teams missed a couple of occasions to get the lead in the first chukker that finished 1-1 square.In the second chukker, Saim Abbas, Saad Mirza, and Chengaz Lagahri were dominating, as joint efforts were made by the Pakistani horsemen. Saad Mirza gave his side 2-1 lead by scoring a tremendous goal. Saim Abbas doubled by making the third goal in the second chukker. Pakistan were ahead 3-1 after the completion of the first half of the match.Hosts players maintained the same pace in the penultimate chukker of the international junior fixture, as they added two more goals to their total. Saim Abbas and Saad Mirza displayed excellent skills of the game of polo and hit the ball right on target and scored 4th and 5th goals respectively. Islamabad Club players were 5-1 ahead after 3rd chukker.The last and final chukker was a thrilling contest, as both teams fought bravely. Although Dubai Club wasted a free penalty back-to-back twice. Later, they succeeded in reducing the deficit by scoring two goals in quick succession. Ayden Al Ahmed, and Charlie Matthews scored two goals each for their team. Hashim Waheed did well in the last chukker with his mallet. Pakistan finished the match at 6-5 to secure the series 1-0.At the closing ceremony, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al-Zaabi was chief guest and he distributed the prizes among the players. Additionally, Islamabad Club Administrator Dr Touqeer Shah, Col Gill, Sohail Shigri, Hashim Asad, Haider Asad, diplomats from various countries, dignitaries, and polo enthusiasts gathered in large numbers to witness and enjoy the enthralling encounter.The Dubai team comprised Hassan Al Abbar, Ayden Al Ahmed, Charlie Matthews, and Harmes Werle, with Lisa Mathews as the team manager and Jan Azam as the team coach. Polo News: Islamabad Club and Dubai Polo & Equestrian play 4-4 draw
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD:-The first match of the 2game tie between the junior teams of Islamabad Club and Dubai Polo & Equestrian ended a 4-4 draw, which was played here at Islamabad Club Polo Ground (ICPG) on Saturday. The second match will be played on Sunday at the same venue.The Islamabad Club is hosting for the first time a series of exhibition matches aiming to encourage young talented polo lads to excel at the international level. The visiting team consisted of Hassan Al Abbar, Ahmed, Charlie Matthews, and Harmes Werle while the host team was comprised Chengiz Khan Leghari, Akbar Aurangzeb, Saad Mirza, Mohammad Ali Malik, Hashim Waheed, and Saim Abbas.Lisa Mathews Team Manager is the team manager while Jan Azam team coach of the UAE team.

Team Remington Pharma Stars win LPC Super League 2023
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Team Remington Pharma Stars have won the title of Lahore Polo Club (LPC) Super League 2023 after defeating FG/Din Polo Warriors by 9-4 in the final played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday.  Hamza Mawaz Khan's outstanding performance helped team Remington Pharma Stars win the final by 9-4 against FG/Din Polo Warriors. Hamza, hero of the final, hammered six superb goals for Remington Stars while Ahmed Zubair Butt contributed with two goals and emerging young player Basel Faisal Khokhar struck one goal. Sheikh Mohammad Raffay scored three goals and Bilal Hayat Noon scored one goal for FG/Din Polo.  Speaking on the occasion, Basel Faisal Khokhar of Remington Pharma Stars said: "The 2022-23 season has been very good for Remington Pharma. I have won three eight-goal tournaments and an Under-19 event and now clinched the LPC Super League title. All this is the result of the prayers of my parents and the hard work of the team.” Earlier in the subsidiary final, Pebble Breakers defeated Master Paints/Diamond Paints by a narrow margin of 5-4½. The Super League awards were also distributed during the prize distribution ceremony. The best mare of the match was awarded to Remington Pharma Director Dr. Faisal Khokhar's mare Ice. The most valuable player award was handed over to Hamza Mawaz Khan, who also earned the award for scoring the most goals in the tournament. The amateur player of the league award was claimed by Basel Faisal Khokhar. The patron of the league award was given to Din Polo's Sheikh Mohammad Farhad while the fair play award was given to Ibrahim Sultan. Former polo player Maj (Rtd) Javed Mawaz was the chief guest on this occasion and gave away winning trophy to team Remington Pharma Stars. Other notables present on the occasion were Lahore Polo Club President Umar Sadiq, executive committee members and a large number of polo players, who witnessed and enjoyed the enthralling final of the Super League.

Quaid-e-Azam Polo Gold Cup 2023: BN Polo claim Trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: BN Polo outplayed Master Paints/Newage Cables by 12-6 in the Century Ventures National Open Polo Championship for Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2023 main final played here at the crowded Lahore Polo Club on Sunday. Hamza Mawaz Khan emerged as hero of the main final, as he hammered five fabulous goals while he was ably supported by foreign players Tito Ruiz Guinazu and Elena Venot, who contributed with two and three goals respectively. Babar Naseem converted one goal. For Master Paints/Newage Cables, Simon Prado scored a hat-trick while Juan Cruz Greguol knocked in a brace and Raja Temur Nadeem scored one goal. BN Polo were off to flying start in the final, as they thrashed in three goals, two by Hamza and one by Tito Ruiz, to take a 3-0 lead while Master Paints/Newage’s Simon Prado converted one before the end of the first chukker to make it 1-3. Prado added one more in his team’s tally at the beginning of the second chukker to further reduce the margin to 2-3. But BN bounced back well by banging in a brace, one each by Hamza and Tito Ruiz, to stretch their lead to 5-2. The third chukker began with a field goal by Raja Temur that helped MP/Newage make it 3-5 but BN Polo converted two back-to-back goals through Hamza and Babar to enhance their lead to 7-3. The highly-charged fourth chukker saw BN Polo cracked a quartet including two by Elena and one each by Tito and Hamza. They earned a healthy 11-3 lead while MP/Newage scored three goals, two by Greguol and one by Prado to reduce the deficit to 6-11. In the decisive chukker, BN Polo struck the only goal through Elena Venot to win the historic event by 12-6. Earlier in the Subsidiary Final, Team FG Polo outpaced DS Polo by 10-6. For FG Polo, Juan Ambroggio emerged as top scorer with a contribution of five goals while Abbas Mukhtar struck a hat-trick and Ramiro Zavaleta banged in a brace. For DS Polo, Javier Gurrero thrashed in three goals while Hissam Ali Hyder scored two and Bilal Haye hit one goal. The chief guest of the final was Chairman Pakistan Polo Association Lt Gen Khalid Zia while Club President Umar Sadiq, Directors of Century Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Ayaz Lakhani, Kamran Afzal, Wasim Mazhar, Nazia Wasim, Secretary of PPA Lt Col Ayaz Mahmood, LPC executive committee members, players, their families and a large number of spectators were also present on the occasion. In the end, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners, runners-up and top performers and also honoured the organizers and club staff. Ibrahim Sultan was awarded in -2 to 0 category, Basel Faisal Khokhar in 0 to 2 category and Agha Musa Ali Khan in 2 to 4 category while the most valuable pakistani player of the season award was handed over to Hamza Mawaz Khan and the best foreign player of the tournament to Tito Ruiz Guinazu. Simon Prado of Master Paints scored the most goals in the tournament. The best Pakistani mare of the tournament was awarded to Raja Temur Nadeem's mare 11-481. The Syed Wajid Ali Shah trophy was awarded to Kamila, a foreign mare owned by Babar Naseem. Diamond Paints fourth team to qualify for National Open Polo semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Diamond Paints emerged as winners of the penalty shootouts contested among three teams that helped them qualify for the semifinals as the fourth team in the Century Ventures National Open Polo Championship for Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2023 here at the Lahore Polo Club on Thursday. The penalty shootouts were played among three teams including Diamond Paints, FG Polo and DS Polo. From Diamond Paint, Chulo Corti managed to convert three penalties out of four to help side emerge as triumphant. From FG Polo, Ramiro Zavaleta could slam in only one out of four penalties while from DS Polo, Javier Gurrero failed to convert a single one. With the qualification of Diamond Paints in the semifinals as the fourth team, now the lineup for the semifinals has been completed. Now in the semifinals to be played tomorrow (Friday), BN Polo will take on Diamond Paints and Master Paints/Newage will compete against Master Paints. Meanwhile, DS Polo and FG Polo have qualified for the subsidiary final.

Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup: Master Paints breeze into semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Master Paints qualified for the semifinals of the Century Ventures National Open Polo Championship for Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2023 here at the Lahore Polo Club. The fourth semifinalist will be decided on penalty shootouts among the three teams on tomorrow (Thursday).  In the first match, Master Paints defeated HN Polo by 12-6. From Master Paints, Manuel Crespo played a great game and smashed superb six goals while Pelayo Berrazadi hammered a hat-trick, Sufi Mohammad Haroon banged in a brace and Agha Musa Ali Khan scored one goal. For HN Polo, Raja Mohammad Mikael Sami thrashed in three goals, Santiago Loza scored two goals and Haider Naseem struck one.  Master Paints started the match in great style as they converted a field goal to take a 1-0 lead. HN Polo made a strong comeback with three back-to-back goals to gain a 3-1 lead. Master Paints first scored the only goal of the second chukker to make it 2-3 and then hammered a hat-trick in the third chukker to get back a 5-3 lead.  In the fourth chukker, HN Polo bounced back in style and thrashed in three goals against one by Master Paints to level the score at 6-6. The fifth and decisive chukker saw the total dominance of Master Paints, who smashed in superb six goals to win the match by 12-6, thus also qualifying for the semifinals.  In the second match, Diamond Paints team missed the opportunity to qualify for the semifinals directly as they lost the important match against FG Polo by 4-6. For FG Polo, Juan Ambroggio hammered three goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar struck a brace and Ramiro Zavaleta scored one goal. For Diamond Paints, Chulo Corti scored two goals, Ahmed Ali Tiwana and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed hit one goal apiece.  FG Polo made a tremendous start in the match with two back-to-back goals to earn a 2-0 lead. They added two more goals in the second chukker to have a 4-0 lead but Diamond Paints then made their presence felt by thrashing in three back-to-back goals to reduce the deficit to 3-4. The only goal of the third chukker was converted by FG Polo that helped them enhance their lead to 5-3. In the fourth chukker, Diamond Paints struck one more to reduce the margin to 4-5 but FG Polo added one more in their tally, taking their lead to 6-4. No more goals were scored after that, thus FG Polo winning the match by 6-4.

Quaid-e-Azam Cup: BN Polo, Master Paints/Newage qualify for semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: BN Polo and Master Paints/Newage Cables qualified for the semi-finals of the Century Ventures National Open Polo Championship for Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2023 here at Lahore Polo Club on Tuesday.  The first match of the day proved a thrilling encounter where BN Polo defeated Remounts by a narrow margin of 8-7. Baber Naseem was the hero of the match as he hammered an impressive hat-trick in BN Polo’s victory while Tito Ruiz Guinazu and Hamza Mawaz Khan banged in a brace each while Elena Venot contributed one goal. For Remounts, Shahid Imran, Jota Chavanne and Sawar Naeem thrashed in two goals each while Manuel Sundblad struck one. Both the teams – BN Polo and Remounts – started well but BN Polo played comparatively better polo and finished the first chukker, having a slight 3-2 lead. The only goal of the second chukker was converted by Remounts that helped them equalize the score at 3-3. The third chukker was identical to the first one where once again BN Polo managed to score three goals against two by Remounts to gain a minor 6-5 lead.  Remounts started playing aggressively in the fourth chukker that helped them slam in two goals against one BN Polo to draw the blood at 7-7. Both the sides fought well in the fifth and decisive chukker but BN Polo succeeded in smashing in the match-winning goal through Elena Venot, who fired in a fantastic field goal to power her side to a well-deserving 8-7 win.  The second match of the day proved a one-sided affair, where Master Paints/Newage Cables comfortably beat DS Polo by 9-5. From Master Paints/Newage, Juan Cruz Greguol played extremely well and smashed six superb goals while Simon Prada hammered an inspiring hat-trick. For DS Polo, Hissam Ali Hyder thrashed in three goals and Javier Guererro struck two goals.  The match started well by both the teams, who managed to convert two goals each to equalize the score at 2-2 but just before the end of the first chukker, Master Paints/Newage fired in a field goal to take a slight 3-2 lead. The second chukker was fully dominated by Master Paints/Newage, who banged in a brace to take a good 5-2 lead.  DS Polo played better polo in the third chukker and thrashed in two goals against one by Master Paints/Newage to reduce the margin to 4-6. The fourth chukker was evenly poised as one goal each was converted by both the sides, with Master Paints/Newage still enjoying 7-5 lead.
