Polo Cup: FG / Din overpower Newage Cables / Master Paints 9-5 in final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE (November 27, 2022): FG/Din Polo overpowered Newage Cables/Master Paints by 9-5 to win the title of the two-week Coca-Cola Aibak Polo Cup 2022 that concluded here at Lahore Polo Club on Sunday. To witness and enjoy the challenging and enthralling Aibak Polo Cup final, the officials of Coca-Cola, Century Ventures Director Ayaz Lakhani, Director Kamran Afzal, Director Wasim Mazhar and COO Century Ventures Nazia Wasim, Lahore Polo Club President Omer Sadiq, Secretary Agha Murtaza Ali Khan, executive committee members and a great number of polo lovers, players and their families were present. At the concluding ceremony, officials of Coca-Cola and Century Ventures distributed prizes and shields among the winners and top performers. In the main final, both the teams played superb polo and gave tough time to each other, but FG/Din Polo dominated the last two chukkers and managed to take a huge lead, which helped them win the title clash comfortably by 9-5. Argentinean player Tomas Marin Moreno stole the show by displaying high-quality mallet and polo pony work and firing in fabulous five goals for the winning side. Shah Shamyl Alam also played well and banged in a brace while Farhad Mohammad Shaikh and Mian Abbas Mukhtar contributed with one goal apiece. For the losing side, Juan Cruz Greguol pumped in all the five goals. Earlier in the subsidiary final, Remington Pharma outlasted Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel 7-4. For Remington Pharma, Hamza Nawaz Khan emerged as hero of the day as he smashed in superb five goals while Ahmed Zubair Butt converted a beautiful brace. For Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel, Osman Aziz Anwar, Omer Asjad Malhi, Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Nicolas Antinori scored one goal each. Talking to media after the prize distribution ceremony, Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Farhad Mohammad Shaikh from FG/Din Polo said: “The way the spectators supported polo at the Lahore Polo Club boosted the morale of the teams. We worked really hard and this title triumph is the result of this hard work. We will work harder and try to win more titles in the upcoming high-goal events.”

Newage/MP, FG / Din Polo book berths in Polo Cup main final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Newage Cables/Master Paints and FG/Din Polo booked berths in the main final of the Coca-Cola Aibak Polo Cup 2022 after winning their respective semi-finals played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Friday. In the first semi-final, Team Newage Cables/Master Paints defeated Team Diamond Paints by 9½-7. Juan Cruz Greguol emerged as hero of the day as he smashed in superb six goals while his teammates Adnan Jalil Azam, Alman Jalil Azam and Farooq Amin Sufi converted one goal each for Newage Cables/Master Paints, which had a half goal handicap advantage. For Team Diamond Paints, Abdur Rehman Monnoo hammered a hat-trick of goals while Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) and Ahmed Ali Tiwana banged in a brace each.  The second semifinal of the day, Team FG/Din Polo outlasted Team Remounts by 10½-3. Thomas Marin Moreno played hero’s role in the winning team’s triumph as he played superb polo and hammered impressive six goals while he was ably assisted by Farhad Muhammad Sheikh and Mian Abbas Mukhtar, who slammed in three and one goal respectively for FG/Din Polo. Raja Temur Nadeem, Muhammad Shahzad and Sawar Muhammad Naeem managed to convert one goal each for Team Remounts. A large number of spectators were present at the ground to watch both the semi-finals. Other notables present on the occasion were Lahore Polo Club President Omer Sadiq, Secretary Agha Murtaza Ali Khan and executive committee members of the club and polo enthusiasts.  Now, the main final will be played between the teams of FG/Din Polo and Newage Cables/Master Paints here at the Lahore Polo Club ground at 3:00 PM.

Polo Cup: FG-Din, Newage Cables-Master Paints record wins
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: FG-Din Polo and Newage Cables-Master Paints recorded comfortable victories in the Coca-Cola Aibak Polo Cup 2022 matches played here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Monday. The interesting competitions are going on in the historic Aibak Polo Cup in collaboration with Coca Cola and Century 99. In the first match of the day, FG / Din Polo defeated Team Barry's-DS Polo by 12.5-5 goals. Tomas Marin Moreno emerged as hero of the day as he displayed outstanding mallet and pony work and successfully converted superb six goals from the winning side. Mian Abbas Mukhtar also played well and fired in fabulous four goals while Farhad Mohammad Shaikh thrashed in two tremendous goals for Team FG/Din Polo, while they had also a handicap advantage of half goal. On the other hand, Rulo Trotz slammed in four goals and Daniyal Shaikh converted one for Team Barry's-DS Polo. The second match of the day was dominated by Team Newage Cables/Master Paints, who overpowered Team Rijas by 10-4.5. Juan Cruz Greguol did the magic with mallet and polo pony and smashed in splendid seven goals while Adnan Jalil Azam hammered an impressive hat-trick for Newage Cables / Master Paints. Bilal Haye, Mian Mustafa Aziz and Nazar Dean Mohammad Khan scored one goal each for Team Rijas, which had also a handicap advantage of one and a half goals.

Aibak Polo Cup: MP Black, Remounts, Diamond Paints victorious
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Master Paints Black, Remounts and Diamond Paints recorded victories in the Coca-Cola Aibak Polo Cup 2022 matches played here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Sunday.  Remounts from Zone D and Diamond Pants from Zone B also qualified for the semifinals of the two-week eight-goal tournament. A large number of lively Lahorites were present on the occasion to witness and enjoy the enthralling and exciting matches of the historic Aibak Polo Cup which is being organized in collaboration with Coca-Cola and Century 99.  In the first match of the day, Master Pants Black defeated Guard Rice 9-6½. Manuel Carranza emerged as hero of the day from the winning side as he displayed outstanding polo skills and techniques and smashed in superb six goals.  Sufi Mohammad Amir and Sufi Mohammad Haroon also played well for Master Paints Black and converted two and one goal respectively. Saqib Khan Khakwani and Taimoor Ali Malik scored two goals each while Taimur Noon and Hamza Ejaz scored one goal each for Guard Rice. In the second match of the day, Remounts defeated Salam Polo by 10-4½. Raja Temur Nadeem was in sublime form as he played excellent polo and slammed in superb six goals while Shahzad fired in fabulous four goals. Hamza Ali Hakeem and Raja Arsalan scored one goal each for Salam Polo. This victory helped Remounts qualify for the semifinals.  The third match of the day proved a nail-biting encounter where Diamond Paints edged out Platinum Homes by a narrow margin of 3-2½. Abdul Rehman Monnoo was impressive with mallet and polo pony and banged in a beautiful brace for the winning side while Ahmed Ali Tiwana struck the remaining one goal. Iran’s Amirreza Behboudi scored both the goals for Platinum Homes, which had a half goal handicap advantage. Today (Monday), two important matches will be played.

Aibak Polo Cup: Three important matches decided
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Three important matches were decided on the second day of the Coca-Cola Aibak Polo Cup 2022 and after a tough contest, teams of Remington Pharma, Remounts and Newage Cables/Master Paints emerged as winners here at Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday.  Hamza Mawaz Khan’s heroics helped Remington Pharma defeat Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel by 7½-7 goals. For Remington Pharma, Hamza Mawaz Khan was hero of the day as he was in sublime form and played outstanding polo and fired in four fantastic goals. His teammate Ahmed Zubair Butt also played well and hammered an impressive hat-trick for Remington Pharma, which had also a handicap advantage.  For Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel, Nicolas Antinori and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed also displayed high-quality polo skills and techniques and smashed in superb seven and two goals but their efforts proved futile in the end as their side lost the crucial match by a narrow margin of 7-7½. The second match of the day proved a one-sided affair which was comfortably won by Remounts, who overpowered Guard Rice by a huge margin of 11-3½. For Remounts, Raja Temur Nadeem and Sawar Muhammad Naeem did magic with mallet and pony and pumped in fantabulous five goals each while Shehzad scored one goal. Hamza Ejaz and Saqib Khan Khakwani scored two and one goal respectively for Guard Rice, which had a handicap advantage of a half goal. The third encounter of the day proved a thrilling one, where Newage Cables/Master Paints faced tough resistance from FG/Din Polo team before winning the crucial match by 7-6. Juan Cruz Greguol slammed in sterling six goals while Alman Jalil Azam converted one for Newage Cables/Master Paints while Tomas Marin Moreno scored all the six goals for FG/Din Polo.

Aibak Polo Cup: Barrys / DS Polo, Diamond Paints win openers
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Teams Barry’s / DS Polo and Diamond Paints have won their opening day matches of the Coca-Cola 46th Aibak Polo Cup played here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Tuesday. In the first match of the opening day, Barry’s/DS Polo outpaced Team Rijas by 9-5. Rulo Trotz played brilliantly for the winning team and smashed in superb seven goals, while Nafees Barry and Daniyal Shaikh also played well and contributed with one goal each. Faisal Shehzad, Mustafa Aziz and Nazar Dean Ali Khan slammed in one goal each for Team Rijas, which had a two-goal handicap advantage. The second match of the opening day saw Diamond Paints defeating Master Paints by 9-5, thanks to superb performance by sensational Mir Shoaib Ahmed. Diamond Paints CEO Mir Shoaib Ahmed was hero of the day as he fired in four fabulous goals under the neck.  The two other notable performers were Mustafa Monnoo and Ahmed Ali Tiwana as both banged in a beautiful brace each. Lt Col Omer Minhas also played well and converted one goal. Manuel Carranza played well for Master Paints Black and thrashed in three goals while Sufi Muhammad Amir scored two goals. The first match on Wednesday will be played between Remington Pharma and Diamond Paints / Sheikhoo Steel at 12:30 pm, the second one between Guard Rice and Remounts at 1:30 pm and the third one between Newage Cables/Master Paints and FG/Din Polo at 2:30 pm here at the Lahore Polo Club ground.

SRA Memorial Polo Cup: Platinum Homes qualify for main final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Platinum Homes defeated Master Paints Black to qualify for the main final while FG/Din Polo defeated Barry’s for the subsidiary final in the Lt Gen Shah Rafi Alam (SRA) Memorial Polo Cup Tournament sponsored by Dawn Bread here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Thursday.  The first match of the day was contested between Platinum Homes and Master Paints Black and after a tough competition, Platinum Homes recorded a narrow 6½-5 victory and also earned a place in the main final. Amirreza Behboudi played a key role in Platinum Homes’ triumph as he hammered a hat-trick of goals while his teammates Bilal Noon banged in a brace Agha Musa Ali Khan converted one goal.  Manuel Caranza though played outstanding polo and smashed in all the six goals from Master Pants Black yet his magic couldn’t steer his side to a much-needed victory.  In the second match of the day, FG/Din Polo overpowered Team Barry’s by a good margin of 10½-5 goals. In-form Edward Morris pumped in fabulous five goals from the winning team while Mian Abbas Mukhtar converted two and Farhad Mohammad Sheikh and Shah Shamyl Alam one goal apiece. For Team Barry’s, Rulo Trotz fired in four goals while Daniyal Sheikh scored one goal.

Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and Guard Group registered victories in the Lt Gen Shah Rafi Alam (SRA) Memorial Polo Cup Tournament sponsored by Dawn Bread here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday. The first match of the day was contested between Diamond Paints/Shekhoo Steel and Dawn Bread, and after a tough fight, the team Diamond Paints/Shekhoo Steel succeeded in winning the match by 5-3½ goals. Nicolas Antinori emerged as hero of the day from the winning team, as he not only displayed high quality polo skills and techniques but also contributed with three tremendous goals while Mir Huzaifa Ahmed thrashed in two goals. Juan Cruz Greguol banged in a brace and Alman Jalil Azam struck one goal from Dawn Bread, while they had a half goal handicap advantage. In the second match of the second day, the Guard Group team defeated Diamond Pants by a narrow margin of 5-4. Taimur Ali Malik was the hero from Team Guard Group as he was in sublime form and displayed very impressive mallet and horse work to amuse the spectators with his marvelous three goals while his teammate Saqib Khan Khakwani also played well and contributed with two brilliant goals. Abdul Rehman Monnoo scored all the four goals from team Diamond Paints. Today (Thursday), two crucial matches will be played as FG/Din Polo will compete against Barry’s in the first match of the day at 1:30 pm while Master Pants Black will fight against Platinum Homes in the second match of the day at 2:30 pm. Lahore Polo Club President Omar Sadiq, Secretary Agha Murtaza Ali Khan, Executive Committee members Shah Qubilai Alam, Feroz Gulzar, Usman Haye, Agha Najeeb Raza and Saqib Khan Khakwani as well as players, their families and a large number of polo lovers were also present on this occasion. Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Two important matches were played on the first day of the Lt Gen Shah Rafi Alam Memorial Polo Cup sponsored by Dawn Bread as Platinum Homes and Master Paints Black emerged victorious on Tuesday here at the Lahore Polo Club.  A good number of families and spectators along with Lahore Polo Club President Omar Sadiq, Secretary Agha Murtaza Ali Khan, Executive Committee members Feroze Gulzar, Usman Haye, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Agha Najeeb Raza and others were also present on this occasion. The polo lovers witnessed and enjoyed the enthralling matches and also supported and cheered for their favourite teams during the matches.  In the first match of the day, Platinum Homes edged out FG/Din Polo by a close margin of 6-5½ goals. Iranian player Amirreza Behboudi of Platinum Homes showed a great game and smashed in superb six goals. English player Edward Morris scored three goals while Shah Shamyl Alam and Farhad Muhammad Shaikh converted one goal each from FG/Din Polo.  In the second match of the day, Master Paints Black played a great game and defeated Team Barry’s by 8-7. Argentinean player Manuel Caranza was in sublime form and pumped in splendid seven goals while Sufi Muhammad Haroon and Sufi Muhammad Amir slammed in one goal each for Master Paints Black. Shaukat Khanum Pink Polo Cup 2022: DP/Sheikhoo Steels win trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steels clinched the Shaukat Khanum Pink Polo Cup after defeating FG/Din Polo by 9-6½ in the main final played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields (JPF) on Sunday. Before the main final, various events were organized to support the Shaukat Khanum to spread awareness about breast cancer. The variety of shows and the exciting main final were witnessed by a good number of polo enthusiasts including Chief Guest CEO Shaukat Khanum Dr Faisal Sultan, some showbiz stars, JPF President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), Secretary Major Baber Mehboob (R) and others. Before the main final, the women's tent-pegging competition was held followed by cavalcade competitions and Harley-Davidson bikers’ march past. Apart from this, there was a performance by the army band. The final match between Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and FG/Din Polo proved very interesting and thrilling and after a tough contest, Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steels emerged as winners with a score of 9-6½. Nicholas Antinori played superb polo from the winning side as he smashed in superb six goals while he was ably assisted by Mir Huzaifa Ahmed, who contributed with three tremendous goals. At the concluding ceremony, chief guest CEO Shaukat Khanum Dr. Faisal Sultan expressed special thanks to Jinnah Polo Fields and also handed over prizes to the winners and top performers. He also gave away the prize of the final to Mir Huzaifa Ahmed's mare Kamila. At the end, Quadrum Band performed well while singer Malko also enthralled the audience by singing different songs.
