Pattya (Thailand): Former Davis Cupper tennis men, Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik registered upset victories in the 60+ Singles of the ITF Seniors’ Master Championship at Pattaya, Thailand.
Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik moved in the semifinals after these wins. Rashid malik outclassed Peter Schubert of Germany (World Ranking 70) in straight sets 2-0 with the score-line of 6-0, and 7-6 while Hameed-ul-Haq overpowered Simon Arms of Australia (World Ranking 12) with the score-line of 6-1, and 6-1.
In the 65+ Doubles Category Waqar Nisar (Pak) and Kazuhico Imahashi (Japan) lost to Shay Abramovich (Israel) and Robert McGuigan 3-6, 7-5, 6-10 in the quarterfinals.
