Pakistan Navy Academy’s Cadets shine at International Regatta
Karachi (PR): Cadets of the Pakistan Navy Academy (PNA) sailing team achieved a historic feat by securing a silver medal and overall second position in the 79th International Naval Academy Sailing Competitions. Which were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Nine teams from around the world participated in the J24 Boat category competitions.The participating teams included Cadets from the Naval Academies of Pakistan, Brazil, China, Italy, Portugal, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and India. Speaking on the occasion, the PNA team captain dedicated the victory to the quality training of the Pakistan Naval Academy.After securing the first position during an International Sailing Championship in Sri Lanka earlier in August 2024, this was the consecutive second extraordinary performance at the international level during the last three months by cadets of PNA.The Chief of the Naval Staff congratulated the victorious team of PNA. He also lauded the efforts of PNA faculty and instructors for their back to back performances at the international stage.

Qasim wins top position, as CNS International Sailing Regatta concludes
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: The first Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) International Sailing Regatta 2023 concluded here on Sunday, as CNS Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi graced the closing ceremony as chief guest to distribute the prizes amongst the winners and runner-ups.Besides host Pakistan, the players from Australia, Bahrain, Egypt, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand participated 5-day international sailing championship. The championship was featured in different competitions including Laser Standard, Laser 4.7, and Windsurfing categories. A total of twelve races were held in each category.In the Laser Standard, Malaysia's Khair Nizam Mohammad Effendi won the first position while Malaysia's Asri Bin Azman remained runner-up. In the laser 4.7 category, Thailand's Nupasoon Khunban Jan earned the first position while Singapore's Izak Gow grabbed the second position. In the windsurfing category, Pakistan's Raja Qasim Abbas won the first position and Malaysia's Mohammad Azdeen claimed the second position.On this occasion, the Chief of the Naval Staff Mohammad Ajmal Khan Niazi appreciated the efforts of participants and congratulated the winners in various categories. He further said that Pakistan Navy would continue to organize national and international sailing competitions to promote sailing and provide a platform to emerging national athletes to excel at national and international level.
