ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships leg-1: Yuan Lu wins title

ISLAMABAD: Yuan Lu from China beat Cem Atlamis from Tureky 2-1 in the final of the ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships leg-1 at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Saturday. The final score-line was 3-6, 6-3, and 6-4.

A  Large number of foreign players (boys and girls) from Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, UK, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore, China, Poland, South Korea, Canada and Pakistan participated in the leg-1 event.

Iftikhar Rashid acting President-PTF was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He distributed the prizes amongst the winners and runner-ups and congratulated all the players. The ceremony was also graced by Saeed Ahmad Khan SVP-PTF, and large number of players, parents and coaches.

Iftikhar Rashid welcomed all the participants and also appreciated the PTF organizer for the smooth conduct of the event. He thanked Cherat Cement Factory for their kind support and sponsorship. Rashid lauded the efforts of Arif Qureshi ITF White Badge Referee, for organizing the event in a highly professional manner.

Results (finals):

Boys’ Singles: Yuan Lu of China beat Cem Atlamis of Tureky 3-6, 6-3, 6-4

Girls’ Singles: Jinshu Xia of China beat Zeynep Erbakan of Turkey 4-6, 6-2, 6-0

Boys’ Doubles:

Huzaima Abdul Rehman (Pakistan) & Edward Kruppe (Canada) beat Daniil Chizhuk (Russia) & Sevastian Tasenkov (Russia) 6-3, 6-2

Girls’ Doubles: Taira Abildayeva (Kazakhstan) & Vlada Guryleva(Russia) beat Defne Erbakan (Turkiya) & Zeynep Erbakan (Turkiya) 6-2, 6-2 and won the ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships leg-1- February 2023 event.

Also, ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships Leg-2 commenced on Saturday at same venue PTF -SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad.

Hamza Asim (PAK) 6-0, 6-1; Mahatir Mohammad Khan (PAK) beat Ilya Kryukov (RUS) 6-1, 6-2: Hamza Rehmat(PAK) beat Yahya Musa Luni(GBR) 1-6, 6-3 (10-6); Kivanc Bedir (TUR) beat Nabeel Qayum (PAK) 6-2, 6-0; Mohammad Ali (CAN) beat Mustansir Ali Khan(PAK) 6-0, 6-1; Ilya Mosolkin (RUS) beat Hamza Roman (PAK) 7-5, 6-0.
