London (UK): The Pakistan number one wheelchair tennis player, Asif Gul Abbasi will take part in a couple of international wheelchair tennis competitions, which will be rolled into action from February 17, 2023, in Bolton, United Kingdom (UK).
The first tournament will be held from 17th to 19th February while the second on 21st to 24th February this year 2023. Asif, who has previously won three international tournaments for Pakistan and achieved a career-high world ranking of 82 in October 2018, hopes to gain valuable exposure and experience in international tennis.

Asif Abbasi was the leader of the Pakistani wheelchair tennis team, and his leadership skills have been pivotal in the team's recent success. In March 2022, he led the team to victory against India by 2-1 in the World Team Cup qualifying round in Turkey, a historic moment in the tennis history of Pakistan. The team came fourth out of seven countries in the Asia Oceania group, cementing their position as a competitive team.
The Pakistani wheelchair tennis team, comprising Asif Gul Abbasi, Fida Hussain, and Mohammad Ayub, with Khalid Rahmani as the team manager, will be preparing to participate in the Asian qualifying round, which will be taken place in Thailand from 28th February to 3rd March 2023. The team is focused on performing well in this qualification round of the world team and achieving success. They are well-prepared and have been working hard to improve their game in hopes of qualifying for the world team event.
The participation of the Pakistani wheelchair tennis team in these international tournaments will certainly enhance the profile of wheelchair tennis in Pakistan and inspire a new generation of tennis players.
