ITF Pakistan: Guryleva Vlada thrashes LEE Yejun 2-0 in final to lift title

ISLAMABAD: Guryleva Vlada from Russia outclassed LEE Yejun from Korea 2-0 in the Girls’ Singles final of the ITF Pakistan, PPL Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championship at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad on Saturday. The final score-line was 6-2 and 6-2.

In the first set, Vlada build up the winning lead 3-1 by breaking 1st and 3rd game of Lee then continued the winning pace till the score reached 4-2. Valada again played excellent tennis and break the 7th game of Lee 0-40 and then hold the 8th game to win the first set at 6-2.

Meanwhile, in the second set, Valada again played aggressively and did not allow her opponent to settle down and took the lead 4-0 by breaking 1 & 3rd game of Lee in comfortable style. Lee struggles hard to reduce the lead 4-2 and then by breaking the 6th game of Vlada.

In the 7th game, Valada did not allow her opponent and hit some excellent cross court short to advance the lead 5-2. In the 8th game Vlada comfortably won the game and match 6-2, 6-2. Both the players displayed excellent game of tennis which was appreciated and witnessed by tennis lovers. The match lasted 1 hour and was chaired by Shahzad Akhtar Alvi ITF White Badge Official.

Islamabad Tennis Association organized this ITF Pakistan – PPL Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Ranking Tennis tournament in the memory of Late Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, who played vital role for promotion of the game of tennis in the country. He remained President/Patron of PTF, Lifetime Senior vice President of Asian Tennis Federation, and Hon. Lifetime Patron Islamabad Tennis Association, he was also member of ITF Constitutional Committee.

As many as 46 boys and 17 girls from 12 countries Turkey, Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, United Kingdom (UK), Poland, Romania, Russia, Canada, United States of America (USA) and host Pakistan participated in the  Championships.

Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority and President Islamabad Tennis Association grace the occasion as chief guest and distributed the trophies among the winner and runner-up of boys singles. Ali G. Noon, CSS PPL, Major Rashid Khan Former Secretary PTF, M T Cheema SEVP ITA also witness the final and distributed the prizes with the chief guest.
