Also, Hamza Saeed grabbed silver, Haroon Khan and Rafia Abdul Samad won bronze medals.On the second day of the Kyorugi event, in the men's -54 kg final, Pakistan's Shahzaib Khan showed a brilliant performance against Saudi Arabia’s Riad Hamdi to win the Gold medal while Pakistan's Tanzeel Hasnat won the bronze, compatriot Abubakar Siddique got the 4th bronze.In the men's -63 kg category final, Afghanistan's Mohsin Raza won 2-0 against Saudi Arabia's Mohammad Zakariya. Pakistan's Haroon Khan won the bronze while Pakistan's Nouman Khan won the fourth bronze.In the men's +87 kg final, Afghanistan's Ali Akber Amiri defeated Pakistan's Hamza Umar Saeed 2-1 after an exciting and thrilling contest. Egypt's Mohammad Ali won the bronze and Kuwait's Ali Hameed Hassan won the fourth bronze.In the women's -46 category final, Kazakhstan's Nargiza Koishybekova won the gold medal by defeating her compatriot Aidana Yedilbayeva 2-0. In the women's -53kg final, Iran's Nahid Kiyani won the gold medal by winning 2-0 against her compatriot Mobina Nimatzadeh. Pakistan's Rafia Abdul Samad won the bronze, and Dunia Ali Abutalib of the Saudi Arab world won the fourth bronze.In the women's -67 kg category final, Kazakhstan's Nuray Khussainova won 2-1 against Britain's Erin Shaw, Pakistan's Maleeha Ali won the bronze, while Kazakhstan's Zhadyra Khairullina won the fourth the bronze medal.

Also, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia claimed medals in different disciplines.Results (Day-III):In the men's-74 category final, Uzbekistan's Najmiddin Kosimkhojiev defeated Afghanistan's Omid Sahak 2-0 to win the gold medal, Jordan's Muhammad Othman won the bronze and Mahmood Khan of Pakistan won the fourth bronze.In 87- Pakistan's Ikhtisham-ul-Haq defeated world ranking number 13 Michael Rodriguez of America 2-0 to win the gold medal, Kazakhstan's Nurbul Yersaiynov won bronze and Pakistan's Mohammad Adnan got the fourth bronze.In the women's -49 category final, Indonesia's Ni Kadek Heni won the gold medal by defeating Nepal's Anjali Tamang 2-1 after an exciting contest, while Afghanistan's Zarghana Noori won the bronze. Pakistan’s Sheeza Jawad won the fourth bronze. In the final of the women's -57 category, Mariya Sevostyanova of Kazakhstan defeated Noor Rehman of Pakistan 2-0, Sabira Bibi of Pakistan won the bronze and AraLiym of Kazakhstan won the fourth bronze medal. In women's 73-kg, Lauren Williams of Great Britain defeated her compatriot Emily Sutherland 2-0 and won the gold medal.Pakistan's Bushra Zuberi won the bronze medal while against Kazakhstan's Diana Absenova, she won the gold medal by winning 2-0.

Asian Taekwondo Open Championship: Pakistan grab Poomsae title

Sports Bulletin ReportIslamabad: Pakistan athletes have clinched the Poomsae Event title of the 5th COMBAXX Asian Taekwondo Open Championship by collecting 14 gold, 11 silver, and 22 bronze medals here at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex on Thursday. Saudi Arabia finished second with one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals while Nepal won third position with single gold medal. WTH (Refugee) players were fourth with one silver while Iran finished fifth with one bronze medal.Results (Day-II):In the men's over-18 individual freestyle event, Pakistan's Ameer Hamza won the first position with 6.73 points.In the women's over-18 individual freestyle, Pakistan's Zymal Naqvi scored 4.56.In the freestyle pair over 18, Pakistan's Ameer Hamza and Naila bagged the gold medal with a score of 6.76.In the mixed team event, Pakistan's Maryam, Usman, Waheed, Abbas and Naqvi won the gold medal by scoring 6.26 points.In men's under-50 freestyle, Ali Adnan of Saudi Arabia won the first position with a score of 7.16.In the women's under-50 freestyle individual competition, Pakistan's Sana Sabir won the gold medal with a score of 6.23.

Asian Open Taekwondo Championship: Pakistan claim 9 golds

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan male and female earned 9 gold medals on the opening day of the 5th COMBAXX Asian Open Taekwondo Championship after showing impressive and notable performance in the poomsae discipline here at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex on Wednesday. The national players lifted 9 gold medals in 10 bouts, as Nepal won solitary gold.In Poomsae's U-30 mixed pair event, Pakistan's Flower Zaheer and Anas won gold with 7.48 points, Higher Education Commission's Ammar and Fatima won silver with 6.71 points, and Sindh's Shafi & Ulma won bronze with 6.43 and Zain Hasan and Latif of Nuces University won the fourth bronze medal by scoring 6.39 points.In the mixed pair of over 30 category, Ali and Shafaqat of Pakistan WAPDA were first with 6.59, Ali and Bashir of Pakistan were second with 6.26, Changaizi and Kausar of Punjab were third while Farhan and Hajra of Sindh came fourth.In the men's under-30 team event, Pakistan's Qadeer, Waheed and Hussain won gold with 7.48 points, Pakistan Army's Shehzad, Didar and Ahmed got silver with 7.36 points, While WAPDA's Khalid, Abbas and Ayub won the bronze and Army's Tariq, Gul and Jameel won the fourth bronze medal.In the men's over 30 team category, Pakistan's Hussain, Mumtaz and Ali stood first with 6.98, Army's Haq, Mehmood and Waqas stood second with 6.79, WAPDA's Ali, Saleem and Akhtar stood third and Saudi Arabia Albane, Al-Madali and Al-Abbas took the fourth position.In the women's under-40 individual event, Mehru-Nisa of Pakistan won gold, Aqsa Shafaqat of Pakistan won silver, Mahdiyeh Oghbaei of Iran won bronze and Hajira Nawab of Sindh won second bronze.In the Men's Under-40 Individual Event, Pakistan's Shahbaz Ahmed finished first, Saudi Arabia's Mohammad Ali Al-Abbas took second, Pakistan's Mudassar Hussain third and Saudi Arabia's Salman Ali Al-Albane took fourth position.In the Men's Under-30 Individual Event, Nepal's Ashmin Raut won gold, Pakistan's AqdusUllah won silver, Sindh's Hasan Alam won bronze and Pakistan's Ahmed Shahzad won fourth to bronze.In the women's under-30 individual event, Naila of Pakistan won first, Kinza Fatima of Pakistan second, Izha Rehman of Pakistan third and Yamna Bint Khalid of Pakistan won the fourth bronze medal.

Asian Taekwondo Open Championship to kick-off on Wednesday

Col (Retd) Mohammad Wasim Janjua officially announced that the 5th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship would be kicked off on November 1, 2023, at the Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Monday.Janjua was addressing a press conference at a local hotel flanked by the president, the Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU), Professor Kyu Seok Lee, and Omar Saeed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PTF and further added that martial arts players from 27 countries would take part in the different taekwondo disciplines during the five days international prestigious showpiece.“The opening ceremony of the championship will take place on November 2 at the mentioned above venue while the closing ceremony will be celebrated on November 5, 2023. Taekwondo players from all over the world would chip in the mega event, as it will be a nice occasion for the local players to show their game skills in the mega international fixture, “he further said.While responding to a question, the head of the PTF said that the same venue had hosted the 4th Asian Open successfully. “Sports events are uplifting the positive image of Pakistan all over the world. This time, a huge number of international players will fight for medals. We invited India after completing all the requirements for the documentation but now the ball is in Indian court. I think they will not visit Pakistan, “he asserted.“Around 500 to 600 athletes from different 27 nations will compete for gold and different medals in Khyrougi and Poomsae disciplines during the 5-day competitions. 463 players from 16 countries participate in the mega martial arts event of the regionSports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: As many as 16 countries, including Pakistan, have confirmed their participation in the 5th COMBAXX Asian Open Taekwondo Championship, which will be held at Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex, under the auspices of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF).According to an official of PTF Mr Najam, the countries include England, Netherlands, Turkey, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Oman, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Nepal, Afghanistan, WT Refugees, Saudi Arabia, Luxembourg, Jordan, Mali, and the host Pakistan will fight for top honour.The registration process of 268 athletes has been completed. Before the mega championship, under the auspices of the Asian Taekwondo Union in collaboration with the PTF, 5-day Kyrugi, and Poomsae education courses will be held from October 27 to 31 at the Islamabad Sports Complex, in which international coaches and managers from different countries including Pakistan will participate.The Asian Taekwondo Union Referees Education Course will be held on October 29 and 30, as well as the education programme of Khyrougi and Poomsae will also be conducted from 27 to 31 October 2023 at Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad.

Asian Open Taekwondo Championship to start on November 1, 2023

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: The 5th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship will roll into action from November 1, 2023 here at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF).According to an official of PTF, the foreign players' registration process has been started, as players are eager to show their game skills during the five-day mega event of martial arts.The mega event is to be played from November 1 to 5 at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, the top taekwondo players from all over the world will participate in the senior category competitions of Kyorugi and Poomsae.

PTF President Waseem Janjua welcomes ATF General Assembly's decisionSports Bulletin ReportBeirut (Lebanon): Pakistan will host 5th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship 2023 in Islamabad, as the Executive Office and General Assembly of the Asian Taekwondo Federation (ATF) awarded this prestigious fixture to Pakistan in the meeting, which took place in Beirut, Lebanon. Delegates from 30 Asian countries participated in the general assembly chaired by AFC President Kyu Seok Lee. President, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Mohammad Waseem Janjua and Secretary General Murtaza Bangash represented Pakistan in the meeting.On this occasion, AFC President Lee Kyu Seok announced the hosting of the 5th COMBAXX Asian Open Taekwondo Championship in Pakistan. Assuring full support to the PTF for the championship, Prof. Kyu Seok Lee said that the 4th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship was successfully organized in Pakistan last year under the auspices of PTF. “I am looking forward to seeing the talent of Pakistani taekwondo players”, he added. PTF President Janjua said: “The hosting of the Asian Championship is an honour for Pakistan. I thanked AFC President Lee Kyu Seok and other officials for awarding this international event. Hamza Saeed wins bronze in World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Games

Sports Bulletin ReportChuncheon (Korea): Pakistan's Hamza Saeed won the bronze medal in the ongoing World Taekwondo Octagon (Octagon) Diamond Games 2023 in Chuncheon, Korea. Ryong Woo Li of Korea won 2-0 against Hamza Saeed in the semi-final of the event. Earlier, Hamza Saeed defeated Mohammad Ashraf of Afghanistan by 2-1 in the quarterfinal. Meanwhile, in World Taekwondo Beach Championship G-2, Pakistan's Aqdasullah Qadeer and Naila won bronze medals in the Poomsae Event.

Taekwondo Federation launches World Taekwondo Federation Care Program

The primary aim of the program is to raise awareness about self-defense and promote the global sport of Taekwondo among students from rural backgrounds in schools and colleges.Former cricketer and Chairman Selection Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohammad Wasim graced the occasion as a chief guest. Also, other political figures, sports personalities, parents of children, and other people from the local community participated in the ceremony. President PTF, Col (Retd) Wasim Ahmed Janjua was also present in the ceremony.Former cricketer, Mohammad Wasim said:“Cricket is the most popular sport in Pakistan and the role of young players is important in popularizing this game. There is no shortage of talent in Pakistan, I am happy to see the children's Taekwondo competitions and also encouraged that Pakistan's young talent is coming up in cricket as well as other sports.”“Children should focus on education first and besides, extra-curricular activities including sports should also be included in their own.
