Golden Star Club beat Pindi Gym by eight wickets in 20-K Cup T20 Cricket
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Brilliant bowling by Mohammad Naveed guided Golden Star Cricket Club to a thumping eight-wicket victory over Pindi Gymkhana in the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament here at the Model Town Greens ground on Saturday. Pindi Gymkhana couldn’t start their innings well and kept on losing wickets on a regular interval. Only their middle order batters Asfand Mehran and Wasif Khan made their side’s total respectable as they contributed with 32 and 31 runs respectively. Opener Aneeq Mushtaq was another batter, who scored 11 runs as no other Pindi Gym batter could cross the double figures. Mohammad Naveed was main wrecker-in-chief of Pindi Gymkhana batting line-up as he took three scalps conceding 22 runs while his teammates Asad Raza and Abrar Ahmad bagged two wickets each and Sadaqat and Ahmad Safi Abdullah took one wicket each. Golden Star Cricket Club replied strongly and reached home safely in 11.2 overs for the loss of just two wickets. Their openers Azzam ul Haq and Huzaifa started well for their side and added 57 runs for the opening stand. Azzam (20) was the first batter from the winning side, who lost his wicket at a total of 20 runs while in the very next over, Huzaifa (21) was also sent packing by Zaid Butt at a total of 59-2. After that Ali Raza (20) and Ammar Sajid (23) chased the target in 11.2 overs. For his brilliant bowling, Mohammad Naveed was adjudged as player of the match. In the only match of the day (Sunday – January 8, 2023), Ludhiana Club will play against Apollo Club at 11:00 am.

Cricket Center, MTG record victories in 20-K Cup T20 Cricket Tournament
Sports Bulletin REport LAHORE: Cricket Center Club and Model Town Greens recorded victories on the second day of the 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament against their respective opponents here at Model Town Greens ground on Friday. The first match of the day proved a low-scoring affair, where Cricket Center comfortably overpowered Yu Slim Cricket Club by 7 wickets. Cricket Center won the toss and elected to ball first. Their decision paid divided as Cricket Center bundled out Yu Slim Club for 81 in 15.4 overs, thanks to excellent bowling by Qaiser Ashraf 3-14, Adnan Rasool 3-12 and Said ur Rehman 2-10. For Yu Slim Club, only Safeer Azam (32) and Aamer Jamil (24) could cross the double figures. Cricket Center replied strongly and chased the required target in just 12 overs for the loss of just three wickets. Anaz Mehmood hammered unbeaten 21 runs off 22 balls while Tariq Nawaz struck 13-ball 19 runs, and Basit Ali contributed with 18 runs off 21 balls. Only Awais Munir (2 for 20) and Haider Butt (1 for 9) bowled well for Yu Slim Club. Adnan Rasool was named player of the match. The second match, of the day was a one-sided affair, in which Model Town Greens outclassed P&T Gymkhana by a huge margin of 61 runs. Model Town Greens decided to bat first after winning the toss and posted a mammoth total of 171 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mirwais Khan was top scorer from the winning team as he played 25 balls to smash superb 41 runs while other key contributors were Awais Zafar (35) and Usman Khalid (29) and Waleed (17). From P&T Gymkhana, Adan Mir claimed 4-35 and Asad Raza 3-30. P&T though started their run-chase well but the outstanding bowling by Model Town Greens bowled very tightly and restricted their opponents to 110 all out in 19.1 overs. Mohammad Ishaq top-scored with 42 runs while Ali Razzaq and Ahmed Bhatti scored 12 runs each. Mirwais Khan bowled brilliantly and grabbed 3 wickets for 26 runs while Ahmad Arif bagged 3 for 19 runs and Usman Khalid 2 for 15. For his all-round performance, Mirwais Khan emerged as man of the match. On Saturday (January 7), the only match of the day will be played between Golden Star Cricket Club and Pindi Gymkhana at 11:00.

20-K Cup 2023: Pindi Gymkhana beat Model Town Greens by 19 runs
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Pindi Gymkhana opened their 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament campaign on a winning note as they defeated hosts Model Town Greens by 19 runs in the opening match here at Model Town Greens ground on Thursday. Pindi Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batters though couldn’t start well and kept on losing wickets on regular intervals yet their middle order batted with responsibility and helped their side post a decent total of 127-9 on the board. Wasif Khan emerged as the top scorer with 21 runs off 24 while Imtiaz Ali struck 20 and Nadeem Ahmad scored 19 runs. Ahmad Arif bowled well for Model Town Greens Club and clinched four wickets for 16 runs while Mirwais Khan grabbed two wickets for 18. In reply, Model Town Greens just fall short by 19 runs as they were bowled out on 108 in 17.4 overs. Ali Annar was the wrecker-in-chief of the host club’s batting line up as he grabbed four wickets for 22 runs. He was ably assisted by Zaib Butt (3 wickets for 21) and Asfand Mehran (2 for 16). From Model Town Greens, Bilal Dar (35), Mohammad Azeem (24) and Waris Khan (16) could cross the double figures while rest of the batters failed miserably and resulting in the defeat of the hosts. Ali Annar was declared player of the match for his brilliant bowling. Before the inaugural match between Pindi Gymkhana and Model Town Greens Club, the opening ceremony of the prestigious event was held here at the Model Town Greens ground, which was graced by Nadeem Khan, Pakistan Cricket Board’s Director High Performance Centre Lahore while Test cricketer Abid Ali, former cricketer Mohammad Ilyas, Tournament Organizer Shoaib Dar and others were also present on the occasion. On Friday (January 6), two matches will be played. In the first match, Model Town Greens will take on P&T Gym while Cricket Center Club will play against Yu Slim Club in another match of the day. Both matches will be played at 11:00 am.

Kits launching ceremony of 20-K Cup T20 Cricket Tournament
LAHORE (Press Release): The kits launching ceremony of 20-K Cup 2023 T20 Cricket Tournament was held here at the Model Town Greens Cricket Academy on Monday. The simple but impressive ceremony was attended by former Test Cricketers Ali Naqvi and Aizaz Cheema, who graced the occasion as chief guests, while other notables present were Chief Organizer Shoaib Dar, captains and representatives of all the twenty participating teams, their officials. Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has been named as brand ambassador of the tournament. 20-K Cup T20 Cricket Tournament to commence on January 5, 2023
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: 20-K Cup T20 Cricket Tournament will commence on January 5, 2023, as the 20 teams will showcase their talent in the event which aims at promoting cricket at the grass-roots level and to revive of the club cricket 5 at five different grounds. According to an official, the opening match will be played between Model town greens and Pindi Gymkhana at Model town greens ground. All the participating teams will be colorful playing kits and Model Town Green Cricket Club is hosts of the tournament.  Nabeel Ahmad said: “For years, this event was played under the title of Col (retd) Fateh Sher Khan Memorial T20 Cup but this year it has been given a new title. The tournament is a step forward and a part of his year’s long efforts to revive cricket at grass root level and to engage upcoming cricketer in a competitive action packed cricket activity”. PTV New Center and PTV Headquarters set to meet in final on Saturday
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: PTV New Centre and PTV Headquarters set to meet on Saturday in the final of the Inter-Department cricket tournament after winning their respective semifinals on Friday. In the first semifinal, PTV News Center defeated PTV Sports by 40 runs in a 10 overs per innings fixture. PTV New Center scored 96 for 3 in 10 overs. Asad Nawaz 34 not out (22 balls) and Ahmed Nawaz 32 (30 balls) were the main scorers. Fahim Butt, Mohammad Asif and Abdullah Tenvir got one wicket each. PTV Sports XIs could score just 56 runs in 9.4 overs. Only two batters could touch the double figures. Khurram scored 22 and Fahim Butt scored 17 runs. Ahmed Nawaz sent five opposite batters back into the hut after conceding only 7 runs. Arsalan Saeed got three wickets. Later, in the second semifinal, the PTV Headquarter team beat PTV Home by six wickets to reach the final. PTV Home batters could score just 35 for 6 runs in 10 overs. Zarar Khan contributed 13 runs. Waqas and Numan shared two wickets each. PTV Headquarter batters reached their target on the penultimate delivery of the 7th over. Wajhat hit 10 while Ibrahim 8 runs. Owais grabbed three wickets while Rab Nawaz chipped in one. The final will be played on Saturday to decide the champions.

Showbiz XIs defeat Askari XIs by 8 wickets in an exhibition cricket match
Faisal JB ISLAMABAD (December 30, 2022): Showbiz XIs outclassed Askari XIs by 8 wickets in an exhibition cricket match here at Islamabad Club cricket ground on Friday. Film and TV artists and ex-military officers and others enjoyed the exhibition cricket match. The Showbiz XIs were led by the talented Faisal Qureshi, while the Askari XIs were led by Major (retd) Ahmed Nadeem Sadal. After winning the toss and playing first, Askari XI scored 128 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Major (R) Hasnain 26 and Colonel (R) Mansoor were outstanding with 25 runs. Mohsen Awan took 2 wickets and Ijaz Aslam took 1 wicket each on behalf of Showbiz XIs. Showbiz XIs achieved at the loss of two wickets. Kamran Khan scored 60 runs not out while Daniyal scored 40 runs. Wicketkeeper Abeer Amjad performed brilliantly. He took two catches and one stump behind the wickets. The special guest in the prize distribution ceremony was Lieutenant General (Retd) Munir Hafeez, winner trophy Shobar XI captain Faisal Qureshi while D-Concept's Daniyal Arshad, Samiralias and Umeer Zai gave the runner-up trophy to Askari XI captain Major (R) Ahmed Nadeem Sadal.

Jaguars Captain won the toss and invited to Shifa International team batting. Shifa International piled up 197 for 9 runs in the allotted 30 overs. Azmat Bashir 38, Shahzad Kiani 36, Irfan Khan 25, Captain Qutab Uddin Qureshi 23 and Nasir Mehmood 21 runs were their leading run-getters. Panthers Club Captain won the toss and invited to bat first Shifa International, Shifa International bowled out for 268 in the 30th overs, Batsman Azmat Bashir hit a fine century 115 runs 77 balls with three six and 13 fours, while Mohammad Naseer (45), Salman Khan Kundi (28) and Imtiaz (17) were their leading run-getters. Panthers Club Atif (4 for 53), Hafi (2 for 40) and Akbar (2 for 44) were the other main wicket-takers. In reply, Panthers Club could score 131 for seven in 30 overs.
