Corporate Challenge Cup: Digital Planning Services and Jaffer Brothers post wins

Lahore (Sports Report):-As many as four matches were played in the third edition of Corporate Challenge Cup at Ittefaq Cricket Ground and Race Course Cricket Ground. Teams from Digital Planning Services, Olive Group, UCS and Jaffer Brothers won their round matches.
In the first match played at Ittefaq Cricket Ground, Digital Planning Services (DPS) defeated Auditor General of Pakistan by 7 wickets. The team of Auditor General of Pakistan was bowled out for 163 while playing first. Irshad Hussain remained prominent by scoring 49 runs. Mudassar Rathore led three players to the pavilion. The DPS team achieved the target at a loss of three wickets. Ali Arham batted brilliantly and scored a century while Sharafuddin and Qasim Malik fielded one player each. Ali Arham was awarded Man of the Match for his excellent innings.
In the second match, Jaffer Brothers beat Locative & UB Sports by 7 wickets. UB Sports team scored 127 runs for the loss of 7 wickets while playing first, Mohammad Yousuf remained the top scorer by scoring 36 runs, Syed Abrar dismissed two players. Jaffer Brothers team achieved the target at a loss of three wickets. Mohammad Salman played an unbeaten innings of 64 runs, Tehseen Mirza, Rehmat UB and Wasim Ahmed took one wicket each. Mohammad Salman was awarded the best player of the match for his excellent batting. Olive Group and UCS also won their round matches.
National Boys Under-13 & Under-16 tournaments to start from Friday
Karachi (Sports Report):-A total of 270 boys from across the country will be engaged in National Under-13 and National Under-16 tournaments in Karachi and Multan from Friday, 14 January.
The participating players will have a massive and unprecedented incentive to pursue during the tournament as up to 40 top performers from the two events will secure year-long contracts with monthly retainers.
The players will be coached by a panel of high performance coaches in summer camps at the NHPC Lahore (National High Performance Centre) and academies across the country. Academic scholarships will also be provided to these players.
Twelve teams will participate in the National U16 One-Day Tournament 2021-22 (45 overs) which will be played at five venues in Multan from 14 to 25 January. The teams have been divided into two pools with all six Cricket Associations fielding two sides (one in each pool).
Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh and Southern Punjab Whites will form Pool A while Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh and Southern Punjab Blues will constitute Pool B. The top sides from each pool will compete in the 25 January final which will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Six teams will participate in the National U13 One-Day Tournament 2021-22 (25 overs) which will be played at three venues in Karachi from 14 to 24 January.
One side each from Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh and Southern Punjab will compete in the group stage, each team will play the other once in the round-robin format.
The top sides will proceed to compete in the 24 January final which will be played at the UBL Sports Complex, Karachi.

United Star Captain won the toss and elected to bat first, United Star bowled out for 183 in the 29th overs, Ihtesham (35), Zeeshan (22), Sajid (17) and Naeem (15) were the key contributors. Shifa International Shahzad Kiani (3 for 21), Riffat Nisham (2 for18), Abrar Ikhlaq (2 for 38), Mohammad Naseer (1 for 08), Azmat Bashir (1 for 21) and Syed Mudassar Ahmad Bukhari (1 for 24) were the other main wicket-takers.

Shifa International Captain Qutab Uddin Qureshi won the toss and invited Afshan Lions to bat first, Afshan Lions posted 100 runs for all out on the board in the in 24th overs. Wajahat (22), Yazdan (20) and Huzaifa (10) were the key contributors. For, Shifa International Abrar Ikhlaq bowled well and claimed (3 for 20) in 3 over, While Syed Mudassar Ahmad (2 for 31), Muzammil Rana (1 for 8) and Naveed Malik (1 for 12) were the other main wicket-takers.
In reply, Shifa International achieved the target in the 13th over for the loss of three wickets.
