Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with Municipal Committee Islamabad (MCI) organized Amateur Premier Cricket League Tournament at F-9 Park Ground Islamabad. 12 cricket teams of the capital city took part in the tournament that was finally won by Islamabad Vikings. According to an official, Islamabad Vikings lifted the title after defeating Dhamyal Thanders in the final, who received Rs.100 thousands as winning prize money along with a shining trophy. Runner-up team captain got Rs. 50,000 with Trophy.  Choudary Shahzad, Assistant Director of Sports CDA, Rizwan Sarwar, Assistant Director Sports & Culture graced the ceremoney as guests of honours. Ch Shahzad said: “It was a nice tournament, which was staged first in the history of Islamabad under the floodlights and It was a nice opportunity for the players to show their game. All organizers worked hard to make this tournament successful. Naeem Sardar also worked day and night for this event”. Sports Bulletin Report Quetta (Pakistan):-Quetta and Qila Abdullah have won their matches in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Under-19 City Cricket Tournament after beating their opponents at two different cricket arenas in Quetta, Balochistan. A spectacular match at Balochistan Bugti Stadium was played between Quetta and Khuzdar Under-19 teams. Quetta CCA captain won the toss and asked Khuzdar to play first. They could score only 69 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Abdul Haseeb scored 12 runs for Khuzdar. Mohammad Qasim got four wickets while Umer and Abdullah Khan shared each two. Zeeshan took 1 wicket. In reply, Quetta CCA batters played brilliantly. Sameer Ahmed scored 25 not out while Usman Ghani scored 23 runs. Quetts finished the match with a 9 wickets victory. Sultan Mehmood and Mumtaz Ali supervised the match while Mohammad Anwar Khilji was the official scorer. The other match of the day was played at Fatima Jinnah Cricket Ground between Qila Abdullah and Pishin. Qila Abdullah CCA, after winning the toss, the captain decided to bat first and they set a target of 212 runs in the stipulated 50 overs on the scoreboard. In reply, Pishin CCA cricket team was bowled out for 194. Mohammad Ismail scored 32 and Saboor scored 28 in the second innings. Qila Abdullah won by 18 runs. Sports Bulletin Report Quetta (Pakistan):-District Lorlai defeated Turbat by 245 runs in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Under-19 Balochistan City Cricket Tournament at Bugti Cricket Stadium, Quetta. Lorlai cricket team captain won the toss and seceded to bat first. District Lorlai scored 340 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Dunya Khan was top scorer 128 runs for the winning team. Turbat could score just 94 runs. Lorlai won the match by 241 runs. Top umpires Mohammad Akram and Hadyat-Ullah supervised the match while Ali Ahmed performed the duties of official scorer. Abdullah Asjad RAWALPINDI:-The Markhor Cricket League (MCL) Tape Ball Cricket Festival will start from March 21, 2022 at Ayub Park Cricket Ground Rawalpindi, as the overseas teams will also take part in the prestigious tournament. Chairman Markhor Cricket League (MCL), Sardar Saifullah Abbasi informed the media while unfolding the details of the tournament that four overseas teams including Dubai Whales, UK Rams, Pak-Qatar Dyx and Eshaal Falcons would compete in the Tape Ball Cricket Festival. Former Test cricketer Mohammad Khalil and Marketing Director Ali Nawaz were also present on the occasion. A total of 34 matches will be played in MCL. The opening ceremony will be held at Ayub Cricket Ground Rawalpindi while the final of the event will be played on March 29 at the same venue. “Pakistani cricket fans love to watch Tape Ball Cricket, “said Abbasi. Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD:-CFU Blues defeated CFU Reds by 62 runs in a match played at Al-Muslim cricket ground F-11 Islamabad on Wednesday. The aim of this practice match was to train the Cricket Federation Uzbekistan (CFU) Team for upcoming fixtures of the tour. CFU Reds won the coin battle and decided to put challengers CFU Blues into bat first. Blues piled-up 219 runs in 30 overs per innings fixture. Atif Oryakhail was top scorer with 86 runs not out and smashed seven fours and five sixes in his 40 balls innings. Tariq Safi made 55 runs in 54 balls while Saleem Khan 38 runs in 33 balls. Mohammad Imran (3 for 39), Najeeb Ullah (2 for 49) and Ashan Ullah (2 for 39) were top performer with the ball for CFU Reds. In reply, CFU Reds could score 157 runs, as only Mohammad Hasan could face the bowling opponents and played a nice inning of 72 runs with the help of seven fours and couple of maximum hits. Mirwais Khan claimed four wickets for winners after conceding just 25 runs while Sher Khan chipped in three wickets for 21 runs. Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI:-Nasira Public School, Civil Aviation Authority Model School, Karachi Public School, Dawood Public School and Aga Khan Higher Secondary participated in the 2nd AHC-JCA Girls School Cricket Cup, which was organized by the Australian High Commission (AHC) at Jalaluddin Cricket Academy (JCA) in Karachi. The girls also participated in a five-day coaching clinic before the competition. At the end of the tournament, the special guest, Deputy High Commissioner of Australia Joanna Frederickson distributed prizes among the players and officials, who showed outstanding performance, including the winning team. "We are delighted to have first class PCB coaches at the five-day coaching clinic, who helped to build confidence, boost team spirit and inspire the girls," said Joanna Frederickson, Deputy High Commissioner of Australia.

Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Southern Punjab Blues defeated Northern Blues by five wickets to top Group B and qualify for Monday’s final in the National U16 Cup against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Whites, which had topped Group A on Friday. Southern Punjab not only needed to beat Northern but also had to improve their net run-rate. And they achieved both with success as they first dismissed Norrhern for 190 and then achieved the target for the loss of five wickets in 43.3 overs. This meant Southern Punjab finished with a net run-rate of 0.93, while Northern ended with a net run-rate of 0.78. The stars of Southern Punjab’s win were Mohammad Jansher, who took four for 40, and batters Sameeer Akhtar (45), Zain Arshad (41) and Mohammad Saqib (35 not out). For Northern, Mohammad Bilal was the top scorer with 58, while Syed Ali Mehdi scored 53. With the ball. Mohammad Nabeel took three for 38. At the Multan Cricket Stadium, Farhan Yousuf scored 84 not out with 12 fours and a six as Central Punjab Blues achieved the 172-run target in 33.3 overs to defeat Sindh Blues by seven wickets. The result meant Central Punjab finished third with five wins, while Sindh finished with two wins in fourth place. Sports Report LAHORE:-Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended the ongoing National Under-13 and under-16 One-Day Tournaments after it became aware that some over-aged cricketers had been participating in the events taking place in Karachi and Multan, respectively. To protect the spirit and essence of these U13 and U16 tournaments by ensuring that only deserving cricketers feature in the relevant age-group competitions, which act as pillars of the PCB’s Pathways Programme, the PCB has decided to conduct a third round of bone age verification tests, following which the teams may be revised before both tournaments commence next week from scratch. Bone age tests in Multan, where each Cricket Association has fielded two teams each, will be conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, while tests on 150 cricketers (including playing members, traveling reserves and reserve pool of players per side) participating in the U13 event in Karachi will be held on Tuesday. Players found over-aged following the latest bone age tests, will not be allowed to participate in these competitions. However, before the PCB takes appropriate actions, it will provide these players a two-day appeals window at the back of the fresh tests, during which the players can either undergo another round of bone age test or submit their original birth certificates and other supporting documents to verify their ages. Until the tournaments resume, the teams will remain at their stations and will continue to train and practice under the supervision of the PCB-appointed coaches. PCB Director – High Performance, Nadeem Khan: “After visual assessment confirmed that some over-age cricketers were participating in the U13 and U16 tournaments, suspending the events and conducting fresh bone age tests was absolutely the right thing to do. “The PCB, as the sole governing body of cricket in Pakistan, cannot allow over-age cricketers to take advantage of the flaws in the system and cause demotivation and mental stress to deserving under-age cricketers as well as their parents. “Falsifying age to become eligible to participate in age-group cricket is not only an offence but a menace that has been plaguing our system. This now needs to be corrected to protect the integrity of the tournaments as well as to stop the exodus of young talented cricketers. “The PCB will carry-out third round of bone age tests and players who are ultimately found to have breached the process, will be ejected from the tournaments before a decision on their future participation in PCB-organised events is made. Separately, the PCB will also review its internal processes and try to put in place protocols whereby only cricketers who are genuinely the relevant age get an opportunity to compete in PCB-organised events so that they remain on track to fulfilling their dreams though our pathways programmes.”

Sports Report Lahore (Sports Report):-As many as four matches were played in the third edition of Corporate Challenge Cup at Ittefaq Cricket Ground and Race Course Cricket Ground. Teams from Digital Planning Services, Olive Group, UCS and Jaffer Brothers won their round matches. In the first match played at Ittefaq Cricket Ground, Digital Planning Services (DPS) defeated Auditor General of Pakistan by 7 wickets. The team of Auditor General of Pakistan was bowled out for 163 while playing first. Irshad Hussain remained prominent by scoring 49 runs. Mudassar Rathore led three players to the pavilion. The DPS team achieved the target at a loss of three wickets. Ali Arham batted brilliantly and scored a century while Sharafuddin and Qasim Malik fielded one player each. Ali Arham was awarded Man of the Match for his excellent innings. In the second match, Jaffer Brothers beat Locative & UB Sports by 7 wickets. UB Sports team scored 127 runs for the loss of 7 wickets while playing first, Mohammad Yousuf remained the top scorer by scoring 36 runs, Syed Abrar dismissed two players. Jaffer Brothers team achieved the target at a loss of three wickets. Mohammad Salman played an unbeaten innings of 64 runs, Tehseen Mirza, Rehmat UB and Wasim Ahmed took one wicket each. Mohammad Salman was awarded the best player of the match for his excellent batting. Olive Group and UCS also won their round matches.

Karachi (Sports Report):-A total of 270 boys from across the country will be engaged in National Under-13 and National Under-16 tournaments in Karachi and Multan from Friday, 14 January. The participating players will have a massive and unprecedented incentive to pursue during the tournament as up to 40 top performers from the two events will secure year-long contracts with monthly retainers. The players will be coached by a panel of high performance coaches in summer camps at the NHPC Lahore (National High Performance Centre) and academies across the country. Academic scholarships will also be provided to these players. Twelve teams will participate in the National U16 One-Day Tournament 2021-22 (45 overs) which will be played at five venues in Multan from 14 to 25 January.  The teams have been divided into two pools with all six Cricket Associations fielding two sides (one in each pool). Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh and Southern Punjab Whites will form Pool A while Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh and Southern Punjab Blues will constitute Pool B. The top sides from each pool will compete in the 25 January final which will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
