ISLAMABAD: The Gun and Country Club (GCC) Open Tennis Championship 2024 got underway here at GCC tennis court on Sunday, as the 60 players are competing 4 different categories including Men's Singles, Ladies' Singles, Boys' U-18, and Senior 45 Doubles.
The championship was formally inaugurated by Imran Afraz Khan, Secretary of the Gun Club. Hussain Mahmood has been appointed as the Referee, while Nauman Afzal will serve as the Tournament Director.
Tariq Murtaza, Chairman of the Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) praised the efforts of the Gun Club and expressed his optimism for the tournament's success. He emphasized the importance of promoting tennis in the region.
The event drew a large crowd of spectators, including renowned International Referee, Mohammed Arif Qureshi, who commended the organizers for their exceptional arrangements. The championship promises to deliver exciting tennis action, and the Gun and Country Club is committed to providing a world-class experience for players and spectators alike.
