Army outclass WAPDA 56-19 in the final to clinch the title

ISLAMABAD: The 2nd National Junior’s Kabaddi (Asian Style) Championship 2023 was held from January 13 to 16 here at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF). Pakistan Army outclassed Pakistan WAPDA 56-19 in the final to clinch the title.
Eight teams from all over the country participated in the championship including Pakistan Army, Pakistan Police, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Balochistan, Punjab, and Islamabad.
All eight teams were divided into two pools, as Pakistan Army, Pakistan Police, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) were bracketed in Pool A while Pool B consisted of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Balochistan, Punjab, and Islamabad.
After the first round, four teams Army, WAPDA, Police, and Punjab qualified for the top-four stage of the national juniors’ kabaddi championship 2023. Army and WAPDA reached the final, which was won by Army athletes with a big margin at 56-19.

National Junior Asian Style Kabaddi Championship to start on January 13

ISLAMABAD: The 2nd National Junior Asian Style Kabaddi Championship will start on January 2023 at Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF).
According to an official of PKF, eleven teams will take part in the championship, including Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Police, Pakistan WAPDA, Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Managers' meeting of the teams participating in the event will be held on January 12 and the draw of the tournament will also be announced on the same day January 12. The championship will continue till January 16 and at the end of the championship, prizes will be distributed among the winning teams.
Charsadda Kabaddi team overcome high ranked Peshawar by 30-29

PESHAWAR:-After a nerve-wracking contest Charsada defeated high-ranked team Peshawar 30-29 with a solitary point difference at the last moments of the match in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa traditional games’s festival.
Host Charsadda made a name for itself in the final despite Peshawar's excellent performance. However, Charsadda won the match by 30 points as compared to 29. Captain Mohib and Saddam played a key role in the victory of Charsadda.
Director Sports, Jamshed Baloch distributed the prizes among the players. District Sports Officer Tehseen Ali, Assistant Director Sports Zakira, Admin Officer Irshad Khan, Admin Officer Imran A, International Kabaddi Referee Malang Jan and other personalities were present on the occasion.
Kabaddi Festival concludes at Shah Jeewana Jhang

LAHORE:-Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said Jhang Kabaddi Festival will play a key role in the promotion of Kabaddi in this region of the province; he said this while talking at the closing ceremony of Jhang Kabaddi Festival at Sports Stadium Mandi Shah Jeewana on Thursday.
Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Chief Sports Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officer DG Khan Atta urRehman, District Sports Officer Jhang Mohammad Jameel and a large number of kabaddi enthusiasts were also present on this occasion.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti was warmly received by the local kabaddi officials. He was also introduced to all participating teams of the event. It may be noted here that the competitions of Jhang Kabaddi Festival and Kabaddi Taakra events are being organised under the aegis of Sports Board Punjab.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimmor Khan Bhatti said kabaddi is the traditional and most popular sport of our province. “We organized Jhang Kabaddi Festival as part of our campaign to promote sports culture at regional level after the successful holding of sports events in South Punjab and we will continue this sequence in future as well”.
Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said that Jhang Kabaddi Festival and Kabaddi Taakra events are being staged for the promotion of this traditional game among the young generation of the province. “We are quite upbeat to find several talented kabaddi players though this event,” he added.
Potohar Kabaddi Tournament from March 22

RAWALPINDI: -Pakistan Day ( Youm-e-Pakistan) Potohar Kabaddi Tournament will start from 22nd March, 2022 at Dhamial Stadium Rawalpindi. The tournament will be played under the auspices of Punjab Kabaddi Association (PKA) and in collaboration with Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF). Four teams will be participating in tournament which teams are Pothohar Region, Central Punjab Region, West Punjab Region and South Punjab Region.
Chairman, Tournament Organizing Committee, Raja Shahid Iqbal and secretary PKF further told reporters in a press conference at Mini Sports Complex Liaquat Baugh Rawalpindi on Friday that all all arrangements had been given final touches for this tournament. He said that big name of Kabaddi from all over the Pakistan would be in action in the tournament. He further disclosed that seven 700 thousands rupees prize money will be distributed among the team, as the winners would be pocked 300 thousands.
Final will be played on 23rd March. Punjab Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja will be chief guest of final match. He will distribute the prizes among the players.
National Kabaddi Championship: PAF and WAPDA set to meet in final

LAHORE (January 15, 2022):-Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan WAPDA set to meet in the final of the National Kabaddi Championship (Circle Style) after winning their respect semifinals at Punjab Stadium Lahore on Saturday, as the final will be played on Sunday at the same venue.
In the first semi-final, Pakistan Air Force defeated Punjab Police 51-37 points to reah in final while Pakistan WAPDA defeated Army 45-37 in the second semifinal. The championship is being held at Punjab Stadium Lahore in collaboration with Pakistan Kabaddi Federation and Higher Education Commission.
National Kabaddi Championship: PAF, WAPDA, Army and Police reach in semifinals

ISLAMABAD (January 14, 2022):-Pakistan Air Force (PAF), WAPDA, Army and Police moved into the semifinals of the 42nd National Kabaddi Championship after posting comprehensive victories in the quarterfinals at Punjab Stadium Lahore.
In the first quarterfinal, Pakistan Air Force overcame Higher Education Commission with the score of 55-34 while WAPDA beat South Punjab at 61-32 in the second quarterfinal, as first two quarterfinals was held on Thursday at the same venue.
However, on Friday, in the 3rd quarterfinal Pakistan Army beat Center Punjab 52-35 while Police got rid of North Punjab at 47-42 in a close contest. Semifinals will be played on Saturday, as PAF will meet WAPDA while Army will face Police in the second semifinal.
