Basketball News: Pakistan squad arrive in Male for 5-nation fixture
Sports Bulletin ReportMale (Maldives):-Pakistan Basketball team arrived here on Wednesday to participate in the five-nation international basketball championship 2023, which is scheduled to be kicked off on June 15 in the capital city Male.Besides, hosts Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal will fight for the championship title. The top four teams will qualify for semifinals of the championship.Pakistan will play their first match against Nepal on June 15 while green shirts will be in action against host Maldives on June 16. Pakistan will play third league match against Bhutan on June 17 and will play his last match against Bangladesh on June 18. Basketball News: Federation Names Squad for 5-nation Fixture
Mohamad Shahbaz Ali to lead Pakistan in the international basketball championshipAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD:-The four-man selection committee of Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) headed by Khalid Bashir named a 10-player squad for the upcoming 5-nation international basketball championship starting from June 15, 2023, in the Maldives. Col (Retd) Shujaat Ali Rana, Mohammad Riaz Malik, and Modood Jafri were members of the selection committee.According to an official of PBBF, after getting the official affiliation with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) this year 2023, the top management of PBBF headed by Brig. (R) Mohamad Iftikhar Mansoor and Secretary General Khalid Bashir took vital steps to organize national events as well as send Pakistan teams abroad for international competitions. Besides Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal will take part in the five-nation fixture, which will be held from June 15 to 22, 2023 in Male, Maldives.Secretary PBBF Khalid Bashir said:“The five countries’ basketball event will be helpful for the Pakistan team to get good exposure, as our players will take part in an international competition after seven years. This tournament will be a door opener for talented basketball players to represent Pakistan, the main purpose of participating in the event is to provide opportunities to the players so that they can get experience as PBBF set the target of the Pakistan basketball team to win the medal in upcoming South Asian Games to be held next year.”“PBBF is especially grateful to Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari and Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Shoaib Khoso for their full support and assistance that make it possible for PBBF to train the spikers in the camp for more than a month as well as Pakistan team participation at international level. Basketball News: National Training camp begins again in Sports Complex

Basketball News: PBBF selects 25 players for national training camp
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD:-The selection committee of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) has selected 25 players for the national training camp after analyzing their performance in three-day trials at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad, as the training camp will get underway from May 10 at the same venue.According to an official of PBBF, the three days trials were held to select the probable for the national camp under the control of PBBF, as 80 players from different affiliated units of federation took part in the trials.The national selection committee was headed by Col. (Retd) Shujaat Ali Rana, while the members of the committee included Mohammad Riaz Malik and Maudood Jafri, who shortlisted the names of the players for the training camp.Secretary PBBF, Khalid Bashir said:"The selection of basketball players for the national team is a complex process that involves a variety of factors. The selected players will go through extensive training plan to enhance their skills and fitness standard during national camp. Basketball News: National Team’s trials to commence on May 5
Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD:-The 3-day trials to select the national basketball will start from May 5, 2023 at Pakistan Sports Complex under the supervision of Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF), as the top national players have been invited for selecting process from all over the country; this was announced by Associate Secretary PBBF Ouj E Zahoor on Wednesday.“The top national basketball lads players nominated by the affiliated departments, provinces, and divisions of the Pakistan Basketball Federation will participate in the three-day trials, which will start on May 5 and continue till May 7 at the Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad, as the best performer will be picked up for Pakistan team, which will visit Maldives at the end of this year, “he further added.“The national selection committee headed by chief selector Colonel (retd) Shujaat Ali Rana and other members including Mohammad Riaz Malik, Malik Ijaz and Maudood Jafri will observe the participating players during the trials. The national selection committee will shortlist the names of the players for the training camp of the national basketball team after the three-day trials, “he said.“Pakistan will take part in a 4-nation basketball championship that will be in Maldives this year 2023. The secretary General PBBF Khalid Bashir will announce the training and coaching plan for the selected players as the national team will go through extensive training camp for the preparation of the international event, “he concluded.
Women Basketball Tournament: Lions B wins title
Mohammad Azam Dar ISLAMABAD: Lycans B becomes champion after defeating Lycans A by 11-5 points in the final of Federal Cup 3x3 Women's Basketball Tournament, organisied by Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) here at Multipurpose Court F-6 Islamabad. According to the secretary of Federal Basketball Association Ouj E Zahoor, the purpose of organizing women's tournament along with men's events is to encourage female basketball players so they could get opportunities to show their skills as six teams were competed in the one-day event. Federal Basketball Association President Ijaz Butt was the chief guest of concluding ceremony who along with former coach Malik Riaz and FBBA Secretary Ouj E Zahoor distributed prizes among the players. In the final of the tournament, Lycans "B" defeated Lycans "A" by 11 points against 05 with support of Sana Mahmood scored 5 points and Asma Shehryar scored 4 points while Rehana Naz of Lycans A scored two points. Earlier in the semi-final round, Lycans "B" defeated AK "A" by 11-7 points, while Lycans A defeated AK B by 13-6 points. The matches of the event were supervised by Moazzam Naveed and Mohammad Mudassar.
Islamabad Basketball News: Bulls B defeat Generals to win Federal Cup
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Bulls B have clinched the title of the Federal Cup 3x3 Basketball Tournament after defeating the powerful Generals in the final by 11-05 points at F-6 Multipurpose Court, which was held under the banner of Federal Basketball Association (FBBA).  President FBBA Mohammad Ijaz Butt graced the occasion as the chief guest of the closing ceremony while General Secretary FBBA Ouj E Zahoor, Pakistan Team Basketball Coach Malik, Mohammad Riaz, Mohammad Azam Dar, DDG (Facilities), PSB Ch Saeed Akhtar and other dignities were also present during the closing ceremony. https://sports-bulletin.com/single?id=4823 In the decisive final Bulls B dominated throughout the match and never allowed their opponent to fight back for the tournament trophy. As many as 37 teams participated in the event which continued for four days.

Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Hawks, City Reapers, Bulls A, Raptors Red have qualified for the pre-quarterfinals round of the Federal Cup 3x3 Basketball Tournament organised by Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) at F-6 Multipurpose court, Islamabad. Islamabad Hawks defeated Bulls C by 18-11 points and reached the pre-quarter final round. In the second match, City Reapers won against Raptors White by 19-10 points, while in the third match, Bulls A won against Ball Magician A by 17-12 points. Raptors Red beat Ball Magician B by 20-16 points, Thunders beat Capital Hoppers by 18-14, TW B beat Bahria Town C by 16-09 points, G-5 beat Titans by 19-12 points, Bahria A beat BBL by 17-11 points, Hawks Greens beat T-Hoppers by 16-10 points, DHA Rockets beat Thunders by 20-11 points, Bulls B beat Bahria Town B by 15-9 points respectively.
Federal Cup 3x3 Basketball Tournament starts in F-6 Islamabad
Mohammad Azam Dar ISLAMABAD: Under the patronage of the Federal Basketball Association (FBBA), the Federal Cup 3x3 Basketball Tournament has started here at the F-6 Multipurpose court, as 37 teams from Rawalpindi and Islamabad are participating in the tournament. According to Secretary FBBA, Ouj E Zahoor, a large number of basketball clubs are participating in the four-day event as 37 teams have been divided into eight pools in the tournament to be played under floodlights. Ouj-E-Zahoor said: “To promote the 3x3 basketball standard and to increase the interest of this game amongst the youth is the main objective to organize the tournament, adding that 3X3 is an excellent way to introduce inactive children and youth to the sport of basketball.” On the first day of the event, Islamabad Hawks with a brilliant game defeated AKA Club by 53-34 points while Bahria Town CH faced defeat against DHA Lakes by 56-43 points. In the third match, Spurs won the pool match against Hawks Greens by 50-34 points. In the fourth match, Thunders defeated Titan by 62-51 points. City Reapers beat Ball Magician A by 47-29 points. In other pool matches, City Reapers beat Raptors White 46-31, Bulls B beat Ball Magician B by 56-32, Hawks Blues beat Hawks Greens by 47-29, Thunders beat G-5 by 59-41, Raptors Red beat Bulls B by 61-37, Net Reapers beat TW C by 63-40 and Bahria A defeated Miracles by 52-29 points respectively.
