ISLAMABAD:-Sarah Mahboob, Sheeza Sajid and Meheq Khokhar moved into the semifinals of Ladies’ Singles discipline of the Subh-e-Nau Ladies National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2022 after beating their respective challengers PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Wednesday. Fatima Ali Raja also booked her berth in the semifinal, as her opponent Asifa Khan could not reach the court owing to death of her grandfather.
In the first quarterfinal, top seed Sarah Mahboob thrashed Seher Aleeem in straight sets 2-0 with the score of 6-1 and 6-2. In the second quarterfinal Sheeza Sajid beat Noor Mushtaq 2-0 at 6-4 and 6-0. Meheq Khokhar ousted Kainat Ali in similar style 2-0. The final score-line was 6-4 and 6-0. The semifinals will be played on Thursday at the same venue.
President, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Salim Saifullah Khan visited the tennis complex and witnessed some of the matches. He appreciated Sahaida Kausar Farooq (Chairperson Subh-e-Nau) for organizing the tournament for the promotion of girls’ tennis in the country. Shahida Kausar Farooq thanked the President PTF for extending all-out support for the smooth conduction of the event.

Girls’ Under-14 (Semi-Finals):
Zunaisha Noor beat Mahrukh Sajid 6-0, 6-1
Amna Ali Qayum beat Lalarukh Sajid 6-0, 6-0
