ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will participate in the Under-20 World Junior’s Asian Style Kabaddi Championship, which will be held from February 26 to March 6, 2023, in the Urmiah, Iran. Hosts will defend their title, as Pakistan had won a bronze medal in last edition.
According to an official of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF), 18 teams will fight for the top honour during the 9-day international kabbadi showpiece, which will be played in Asian Style. Pakistan’s 16-man team will visit Iran to take part in said event.
Pakistan selected the squad after conducting the National Junior Kabbadi Championship at Pakistan Sports Complex in the very first week of January 2023. The camp is going on at Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of PKF. Final team will be announced in January 2023.
Besides hosts Iran, Pakistan, India, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Syria, Kenya, Uganda, Germany, Estonia, and Azerbaijan will take part in the championship. Secretary PKF Mohammad Sarwar Rana has been nominated by the international kabbadi Federation (IKF) to perform the duties of the Director Technical during the 9-day international kabaddi tournament.
