CAS International Squash Championship starts in Islamabad

Nasir Iqbal, Mohammad Ammad, Hamza Khan, Anas Shah clinch victories on opening day

ISLAMABAD: Four Pakistani lads including Nasir Iqbal, Mohammad Ammad, Hamza Khan, Anas Shah advanced into the next round by winning their respective matches of the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) International Squash Championship 2025, which rolled into cation here at Mushaf Squash Complex in the premises of Pakistan Sports Complex under the banner of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) on Monday.

The tournament is pursuing a prize money of US$37,500. Second seed Noor Zaman and Mohammad Asim got a bye in the first round of the championship, as the next round matches will be played on Tuesday at the same venue.

Anas Shah overcame Ziad Ibrahim from Egypt 3-1 in a well-contested 4 games competition. After losing the first game at 4-7, local squash player did well by displaying top quality squash and won rest of three games with confidently. He played powerful forehand and backhand drives during the whole match, as his game was laced with classic drop shorts.

Mohammad Syafiq Kamal (MAS) beat Viktor Byrtus (CZE) 3-1: 11-8, 3-11, 11-6, 11-5 (37m)

Adam Hawal (EGY) beat Tayyab Aslam (PAK) 3-0: 11-9, 11-8, 11-6 (36m)

Mohammad Ammad (PAK) beat Chi Him Wong (HKG) 3-0: 11-3, 11-5, 11-9 (32m)

Hamza Khan (PAK) bea Seif Shenawy (EGY) 3-0: 11-8, 11-5, 11-5 (27m)

Tomotaka Endo (JPN) beat Ming Hong Tang (HKG) 3-0: 11-9, 11-9, 14-12 (41m)

Khaled Labib (EGY) beat Louai Hafez (SUI) 3-0: 11-8, 11-6, 11-6 (39m)

Anas Shah (PAK) beat Ziad Ibrahim (EGY) 3-1: 4-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-5 (38m).
