BAHAWALPUR: Hosts Bahawalpur and Okara set to meet in the final of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy 2022 (Grade-1) after winning the semifinals at Dring Cricket Ground Bahawalpur on Friday.

Bahawalpur beat AJK by 7 wickets

In the morning, Bahawalpur won the toss and decided to bowl first. Azad Kashmir made 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Nisar Ali was the top scorer with 70 runs off 58 balls and Faisal Mehmood made 31 runs off 27 balls. Sajid, Babar and Shahzaib took 1 wicket each for Bahawalpur.

In reply, Bahawalpur openers Moeen and Rashid dominate Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) bowlers and helped their side to reach the target in 16.5 overs. Moeen Aslam also carried his rich vein of form forward and scored brilliant unbeaten 78 runs off 48 balls while Mohammad Rashid made 62 runs off 37 balls. Faisal Mehmood took 2 wickets for Azad Kashmir.

Result: Bahawalpur won by 7 wickets

Okara beat Islamabad by 51 runs

The second semifinal of the event was played between Islamabad and Okara. Islamabad won the toss and put Okara into bat first. Okara posted a massive total of 237 runs on the board for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Badar Munir played an extraordinary innings of unbeaten 160 runs off 69 balls and Iftikhar Hussain made 36 runs.

In reply, Islamabad was restricted to 186 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Shahzaib Haider was their highest scorer with 72 runs off 58 balls and Yasir Malik remained not out on 43 runs off 34 balls. Badar, Niamat and Shahzad claimed 1 wicket each for Okara.

Result: Okara won by 51 runs
