ISLAMABAD:-Ahmed Asjad has won the single title of ITC Twin City Tennis Tournament after thrashing Mian Bilal in a well contested three sets final, as the match lasted two hours and thirty minutes at Islamabad Tennis Complex G-6 Islamabad on Sunday. The final score-line was 6-7(7), 6-3 and 10-4.
Hamza Asim took the title of Under 16 event by eliminating Abdullah Mohammad. Ali Zain, a promising youngster, claimed the title of Under 14 event by winning the match against Haziq Asim. Abdul Wasay, an upcoming player and grandson of Fazal e Subhan clinched the title of Under 12 by displaying quality tennis in the final against Orhan Sohail 8-4. Ayesha Masood out classed Amir Masood in the final of the Under 10 event.
Tariq Murtaza Chairman/President Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) graced the occasion as chief guest and distributed the prizes among the winners. Arif Qureshi Secretary ITA and a large number of tennis fans witnessed the final matches. Tariq Murtaza congratulated ITC management specially Kamran Khalil tournament director and Fazal e Subhan Director ITC for organizing the event in a professional manner. He also thanked Madam Khadeja Laghri for sponsoring this prestigious league and said that her valuable support will help to promote the tennis activities in the region.
