Sheheryar Memorial Tennis: Rashid Malik/Arif, Aisam/Muzamil clinch doubles titles
LAHORE (SBR): Rashid Malik/Arif Feroze clinched the seniors’ 55 plus doubles title while Aisam ul Haq/Muzamil Murtaza won the men’s doubles title in the 9th Sheheryar Malik Memorial Pakistan Open Tennis Championship 2025 at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy Nishtar Park Lahore on Saturday. Shoaib had to struggle hard to beat Aqeel Khan 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 while Muzamil Murtaza got walk over against Mudassar Murtaza. Now M Shoaib will take on Muzammil in the men’s singles final on Sunday (October 26, 2025). In the ladies’ singles final, Ushna Sohail beat Mehaq Khokhar 6-4, 6-0 to clinch the title. In the seniors 45 plus doubles semifinals, Talha Waheed/Ashar Khan beat Arif Feroze/Khurram Imtiaz 7-5, 6-1. In the seniors 70 plus doubles final, Asad Niaz/Kh Khurram beat Waqar Nisar/Christopher 6-1, 7-5. In the seniors 65 plus doubles semifinal, Brig Ghazanfar/Maj Saeed beat Malik Imtiaz/Dr Zulfiqar 6-1, 6-2. In the girls U-12 semifinals, Khadija Khalil beat Zaina Abdullah 4-0, 4-0 and Aiman Rehan beat Eman Shahbaz 4-0, 5-3.

ITF Pakistan International J-30 Junior Tennis Championships Leg-1 conclude
Islamabad (Sports Desk): The ITF Pakistan International J-30 Junior Tennis Championships 2025 (Leg-1) concluded held at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad.A large number of junior tennis players from around the world participated in this prestigious tournament. The countries represented included China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the host nation, Pakistan.In the Boys’ Singles Final, Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK) defeated Kristijonas Milasaukas (LTU) 6-3, 6-4 to claim the Boys’ Singles Title.In the Girls’ Singles Final, Ecrin Lal Yavuz (TUR) defeated Yewon Lee (KOR) 7-5, 6-3 to win the Girls’ Singles Title.Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, Vice President of the Asian Tennis Federation, was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony, while Mr. Zamrud Khan, CEO of Pakistan Sweet Home, was the Guest of Honour. They distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up, along with Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary General of PTF.The ceremony was also attended by Saddam Husssain -OGDCL,Major Suleman Junaid (SEVP-PTF), Saeed Ahmad Khan (SVP-PTF), Col. Gul Rehman (Director C&S-PTF), as well as a large number of players, parents, coaches, and tennis enthusiasts.As part of the ITF-PTF Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) Program, around 200 children from Dar-e-Arqam School, Allied School Margalla Town, Pakistan Sweet Home School (H-9), and ICG Islamabad Girls College visited the PTF Tennis Complex to witness the final match. The children also had the opportunity to play with foreign coaches and players under the supervision of Hamid Niaz (JTI Coordinator, PTF) and Masood Abbasi (Regional JTI Coordinator).The Pakistan Tennis Federation is also pleased to announce that the Ali Embroidery Pakistan World Junior Tennis Championship 2025 (Leg-2) main draw will commence on Monday, 27th October 2025, at the PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

Pakistan Youth Volleyball Team Defeat Uzbekistan 3-0 to Qualify for Semi-Finals
Islamabad (PR): The Pakistan Youth Volleyball Team has qualified for the semi-finals of the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025, currently taking place in Bahrain, after a commanding 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan in the quarter-final match.The young Pakistani squad delivered a powerful and disciplined performance, winning the sets by 25-13, 25-20, and 25-18 at the Isa Bin Rashid Sports City. Pakistan’s impressive teamwork and strategic play overwhelmed the Uzbek side, marking another milestone in the country’s growing youth volleyball legacy.Outstanding performances came from Mohammad Yahya, Mohammad Anas, Muhtad Ali Shah, and Khizar Hayat, who led the team with remarkable energy, attacking precision, and defensive stability. Their synergy and confidence were instrumental in Pakistan’s straight-set win.Following this crucial victory, Pakistan has now qualified for the semi-finals, showcasing their strength among Asia’s top youth volleyball teams. However, before the semi-final round, Pakistan will play a classification match against Saudi Arabia on 24 October 2025 at 4:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time) as part of the tournament’s structured phase leading to the medal round.

DP World ILT20 Schools Cup 2025 begins in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah
 Dubai (SBR): The DP World ILT20 Schools Cup began this week across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Now in its third edition, the competition stands as the premier national schools’ cricket tournament in the UAE, designed to encourage participation and nurture young cricketing talent. The DP World ILT20 Schools Cup is part of the long-term vision to strengthen the foundations of UAE cricket, the event plays a crucial role in identifying and developing the next generation of players.  Past champions include GEMS Modern School (2023) and Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi (2024). This year’s edition introduces an exciting new addition — a girls’ competition, which will feature nine school cricket teams for the first time – matches to be played with proper leather cricket balls, reflecting the rapid growth of the sport among girls across the Emirates.  The DP World ILT20 Schools Cup provides a direct pathway from schools to the DP World ILT20, offering young and aspiring cricketers a platform to showcase their skills. A total of 39 school teams are participating, each vying for the coveted title of DP World ILT20 Schools Cup Champion.  The tournament, open to school XI players, begins this week and will culminate on 22 November 2025 at the ICC Academy, Dubai. The final match will form part of the DP World ILT20 Junior Cricket Festival, adding to the excitement in the lead-up to DP World ILT20 Season 4 which will be played from Tuesday, 2 December 2025 to Sunday, 4 January 2026.    Through this initiative, the DP World ILT20 franchises will also partner with schools to foster stronger connections with students and build a loyal fan base for their home city teams. The winner of the final stage will be crowned the DP World ILT20 Schools Champion for the year 2025.

Pakistan squads announced for white-ball series
Lahore (SBR): The Men’s National Selection Committee has named a 15-member squad for the T20I series against South Africa and the T20I tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, while a 16-member squad has been announced for the ODI series against South Africa and Sri Lanka.The T20I series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from 28 October to 1 November, while the T20I tri-series will be staged at the same venues from 17 to 29 November. In the T20I squad, Abdul Samad, Babar Azam and Naseem Shah make a comeback to the side after missing out on the previous events. Usman Tariq is the only uncapped player in the T20I squad.Pakistan and South Africa, who are currently playing the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, will also feature in a three-match ODI series to be held at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from 4 to 8 November. Islamabad (PR): The opening ceremony of 18th Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup 2025 was held at the Margalla Greens Golf Club (MGGC), Islamabad. Iran, China on top as Asia-Pacific Goalball C'ship enters knockout stage
ISLAMABAD (PR): Asian giants Iran and China continued their commanding run as the group stage of the IBSA Asia-Pacific Goalball Championship 2025 concluded at the Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, on Sunday, paving the way for an exciting knockout phase.In the men’s competition, Iran dominated Pool A with 12 points, remaining unbeaten throughout the group stage. Australia finished second with 9 points, followed by Thailand (9), Saudi Arabia (3), and Iraq (0). From Pool B, defending champions China topped the standings with 12 points, while South Korea followed with 9. Kazakhstan took third place with 6 points, Uzbekistan earned 3, and Pakistan finished winless at the bottom of the table.In the women’s category, China emerged as the undisputed leader of Pool X, registering four straight wins to secure 12 points.
