Rashid back as No.1 in ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings
Dubai (SBR): Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has returned to the top position in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings after playing a crucial role in a 3-0 series win over Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi.Rashid, who finished with 11 wickets in the series that included a five-for in the second match, has moved up five slots to take the top position with 710 rating points, 30 more than South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj, who is in second spot. Rashid had become No. 1 for the first time in September 2018 and last occupied the position in November 2024.Seam bowler Azmatullah Omarzai has achieved a career-best 21st position after a 19-spot leap with seven wickets in the series while Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz (up four places to 24th) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib (up 24 places to 67th) have also moved up the bowling rankings.New high for Ibrahim Zadran: In the batting rankings, Ibrahim Zadran has leapt eight places to reach a career-best second position after top-scoring with a total of 213 runs that won him the Player of the Series award.He has achieved the highest-ever batting rating by any Afghanistan player, surpassing Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s 686 points achieved last November, and his second position is also the highest position by any ODI batter from his country.Rahmanullah (up two places to 16th) and the Bangladesh pair of Towhid Hridoy (up seven places to 42nd) and Mohammad Nabi (up six places to 50th) too have moved up the batting rankings.Azmatullah and Rashid have also prospered in the ODI Rankings. Junior World Cup: Pakistan play 3-3 draw against high ranked India
Islamabad (SBR): Pakistan produced remarkable performance in the ongoing 13th Sultan of Johor Cup 2025 being played in Johor, Malaysia, as they played 3-3 draw against heavyweight India on Tuesday.For Pakistan, the first goal was scored through a penalty stroke, while the other two goals came via penalty corners. The first goal was netted in the 5th minute by Captain Hannan Shahid, while Mohammad Sufyan Khan scored the second and third goals in the 39th and 55th minutes, respectively.For India, Arjit, Anand, and Manmeet Singh each scored one goal. India was also awarded a penalty stroke. Overall, Pakistan earned 6 and India 9 penalty corners. Pakistan successfully converted two of its penalty corners into goals and scored one via penalty stroke, while India failed to capitalize on any of its penalty corners. Mohammad Sufyan Khan was declared the Man of the Match.The Pakistan Junior Hockey Team will play its fourth match against New Zealand on October 15, and the fifth match against Australia on October 17.

LAHORE (PR): The Lahore Smart City Pink Polo Cup 2025 burst into action on the first day at the historic Jinnah Polo Fields, with two thrilling matches delivering drama, skill, and unforgettable moments.  Spectators filled the stands as eight teams, each featuring at least one female player, commenced their tournament campaigns under the sponsorship of Lahore Smart City. Secretary of Jinnah Polo Fields, Maj (Retd) Adil Rao, along with numerous former polo players, graced the opening ceremony. Maj Rao announced that this four-goal tournament would see eight competing teams and praised the presence and enthusiasm of fans. Match 1: Rijas/Din Polo vs Master Paints Black: 8‑7 Sudden Death In the first match, Rijas/Din Polo narrowly defeated Master Paints Black 8‑7 in a dramatic sudden-death finish during the fifth chukka. The match remained tightly contested from the outset, with both teams exchanging goals and momentum throughout.  The tension peaked as neither side could break the deadlock during regular play, pushing the game into sudden death where the stakes were higher than ever. Ultimately, it was Rijas/Din Polo, who seized the crucial winning goal, clinching victory to the delight of their supporters. The victory was largely powered by an outstanding individual performance from Raja Samiullah, who scored a remarkable six goals for Rijas/Din Polo. Pakistan ready for crucial away clash against Afghanistan, says Solano
Sports Bulletin ReportKuwait City (Kuwait): Pakistan National Football Team Head Coach Nolberto Solano has expressed confidence ahead of the team’s away fixture against Afghanistan in the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifiers, scheduled to be played in Kuwait on October 14.Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Solano said the squad remains focused and eager to build on their previous performance.“We were a little disappointed that we didn’t take all three points in the home game, especially after how we played in the second half,” Solano said. “We’re a team that loves the ball but unfortunately couldn’t score. Still, this is part of the process, these young lads are playing together for the first time and I’m very pleased with their performance.”Responding to a question he said:“We go again tomorrow with the same attitude and desire to win, the focus is on getting three points. It’s football and anything can happen. We’ll also have another chance against Syria at home in November and then again in March, but tomorrow’s game is a key,” he added.Solano confirmed that there would be no major changes to the lineup, adding that all players are fit and ready for action.Captain Abdullah Iqbal echoed his coach’s sentiments, highlighting the team’s belief on their recent progress.“I believe we showed the potential within this squad, after the home game, we felt disappointed because we believed we could have taken all three points. Lahore Test: Pakistan score 313 runs for 5 on opening day
Lahore (Sports News): Pakistan batters were satisfied when they finished 313 for 5 on the opening day of the first Test match at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore on Sunday after 90 overs game.Left-handed batter Imam ul Haq was the top scorer with 93 runs while skipper Shan Masood added 75 runs. Both batters aggregated 160 runs for the second wicket. Acha Salman and Mohammad Rizwan were not out at the end of day 1 game. Babar Azam could only made 23 runs.
PTBF Ranking Tenpin Bowling Championship to start on November 20
Islamabad (SBR): The 9th PTBF Ranking Tenpin Bowling Championship, will be rolled into action from November 20, 2025 in Karachi.According to President, Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association, President, Aleem Agha said that the President, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijazur Rahman has approved the championship and preparations for the event have already started and male and female players from all over the country will participate in the tournament. He said that eight different categories have been kept in the tournament, including men's singles, men's doubles, ladies' singles, amateur, deaf men's singles, deaf ladies' singles, team event and media categories. Players who wish to participate in the events can register their names from November 1 to 14. The draws for the tournament will be announced on November 18 at 3 pm. The semi-final matches of the tournament will be played on November 24 while the final matches will be played on November 25.

Johor Cup 2025: Great Britain beat Pakistan 5-1
Islamabad (Sports Desk): Great Britain beat Pakistan 5-1 in the 13th Sultan of Johor Cup 2025 being held in Johor, Malaysia.Pakistan started the game with an impressive performance but, unfortunately, missed several clear goal opportunities. On the other hand, Great Britain outplayed Pakistan, scoring five goals to Pakistan’s one. For Great Britain, Jonny and Henry scored two goals each, while Caddy scored one. Pakistan only goal came from Mohammad Sufyan Khan through a penalty corner.The Pakistan Junior Hockey Team will play its third match against traditional rivals India on October 14, fourth match against New Zealand on October 15, and fifth match against Australia on October 17.

Rawalpindi qualify for final of National U19 Cup
 Lahore (PCB Report): Rawalpindi region have qualified for the final of the National U19 Cup after topping Group ‘B’ at the conclusion of the ninth round of the tournament today. Rawalpindi remained unbeaten in the event, securing 15 points after winning seven of their eight fixtures, with one match abandoned due to rain.Rawalpindi’s opponents for the final will be confirmed after the completion of the ninth-round fixtures of Group ‘A’, which could not take place today due to unavoidable circumstances. Islamabad (SBR): The Pakistan National Football Team will depart for Kuwait in the wee hours of October 12 on a direct flight from Islamabad for their upcoming away fixture against Afghanistan in the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifiers.The match is scheduled to take place at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in Ardiya, Kuwait, with kickoff set for 10:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time.In the home leg held earlier in Islamabad, Pakistan and Afghanistan played out a goalless draw, earning one point each in Group E of the qualifiers.Pakistan has been drawn in Group E, alongside Afghanistan, Myanmar and Syria.
