RAWALPINDI:-Top seed, Saeed Abdul and 3nd seed Farhan Hashmi set to meet in the final of the 1st Commissioner Rawalpindi Satellite Men’s Open Squash Tournament after winning their respective semifinals that played at Jehangir Khan Squash Court at Liaquat Baugh Sports Complex Rawalpindi on Thursday.
In the first semifinal, Saeed Abdul aka Saad Abdullah trounced Zain Ramzan 3-1 in a four games thriller, as both players exhibited top quality squash, however, Saeed managed the things smoothly after losing the first game at 4-11. During the rest of match winner lad did not allow his opponent to settle his feet in the court, however, Zain showed some resistance in the 4th game that ended 11-9 in the favour of Saad.
Meanwhile, in the second semifinal, local guy Farhan Hashmi from Rawalpindi outclassed Mohammad Faraz 3-0 in straight games after showing excellent skills of game. He was in great form and claimed the first two games comfortably, however, he faced some powerful strokes from his rival and game went up neck-to-neck, which won by Hashmi at tie-break 12-10 to qualify for the championship match that will be played on Friday (March 25, 2022) at the same venue.
