Islamabad (Thursday 21 October 2021):-All-rounder Shakib Al Hassan guided Bangladesh in the next round after beating Papua New Guinea (NPG) by 84 runs in 9th match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T 20 World Cup 2021 at Al Amerat Ground Oman on Thursday.
Bangladeshi batters post 182 runs target on score board after losing 7 wickets. Bangladesh’s captain Mahmudullah won the toss and decided to play first. Skipper Mahnudullah played a sparkling innings and scored 50 runs in just 28 deliveries. He hit huge 3 sixes and 3 fours. Left handed Shakib Al Hassan scored 46 runs in 37 balls and hit long 3 sixes while Liton Das counted only 29 runs in 23 balls. NPG right hand pacer Kabua Morea picked up 2 wickets for 26 runs. Assad Vala took 2 wickets and conceded 26 runs.
In reply, NPG batter Kiplin Doriga 46 runs in 34 balls. He smashed couple of fours and two big sixes. Chad Soper scored only 11 runs in 12 balls. NPG 9 batters could not reach in double figure while Bangladeshi Left hander all-rounder Shalib Al Hassan hunted 4 for only nine runs. Taskin Ahmed and Mohammad Saiduddin took 2 wickets each. Shakib Al Hassan was declared “Man of the Match” on his sparking batting and bowling.
