Islamabad to host Asian Open Taekwondo Championship in February 2025

ISLAMABAD: The capital city Islamabad will host the 7th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship in February 2025 at Pakistan Sports Complex under the control of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF).

According to president PTF Col (Retd) Raja Wasim Ahmed, who attended the World Taekwondo General Assembly that took place on September 30, 2024 in South Korea during the World Taekwondo Junior Championship, held from September 2 to 6 Oct 2024 at Korea informed the house regarding the conduct modalities of 7th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The elections for the Commonwealth Taekwondo Union were held on 1st October 2024 at Korea, as Raja Wasim Ahmed Janjua contested in the elections and was successfully elected as a Council Member .

After the conclusion of both events, the World Junior Taekwondo mega event was started in which three Pakistani athletes including Rayhaan Khan (Athlete, M-55 kg), Mohammad Hadi Ejaz (Athlete, M-59 kg), and Hanna Alice Siddiqui (Athlete, W-68 kg) participated in the competitions.

On 5th Oct 2024 (first day of the event Hannah Siddiqui won the first match against Serbia and lost in round of 16 against Holland. Rayyan Khan lost to 2nd match against Mexico. On Second day of the event, Hanna Siddiqui won her first fight against Serbia and lost in Quarterfinals.
