KARACHI:-Challengers defeated Dynamites by 7 runs to reach in the final of the Pakistan Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament here at State Bank cricket ground on Friday, as Javeria Khan (83), Noreen Yaqoob (3 for 21, and Saima Malik (3 for 29) were notable performance that led Challengers to final. Now, Challengers and Dynamites will meet again in the final of the tournament on Sunday, 4 June at the same venue.
Omaima Sohail-led Challengers managed 160 for seven in 45 overs. Javeria Khan was top scorer with 83 runs, as her innings was laced with six fours. She faced 126 balls. The only prominent partnership of 75 runs in the innings came from Javeria and Fareeha Mehmood for the fifth wicket. Nashra Sundhu claimed 2 wickets for 25 from 9 overs
Dynamites opening batters Khadija Chishti (15 runs off 37 balls) and captain Sidra Amin (36 runs off 53 balls) provided a solid 43-run start to the innings. After the dismissal of Khadija, Aima Saleem soon followed Khadija, both batters were snared by left-arm spinner Saima as Dynamites were 48 for 2 in 14.2 overs. Experienced Aliya Riaz joined Sidra Amin in the middle and both knitted 26 runs for the third wicket. Javeria got player of the match award.
