Badminton: Peshawar, Multan, Technical and Gujranwala Boards qualify for semifinals
SB News ISLAMABAD (January 13, 2020):- Peshawar Board, Multan Board, Technical Board Peshawar and Gujranwala Board qualified for the semifinals of badminton event of Inter Boards Sports Gala on Monday here at Rodham Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex. In first match BISE Peshawar beat Mardan by 2-0 while in the second BTE Peshawar beat Sahiwal by 2-0. In the third match Gujranwala beat Faisalabad by 2-1 while in the fourth quarterfinal match Multan beat Mirpur Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) by 2-0 to qualify for the semifinal.   BISE Peshawar beat Swat Board by 2-0 in the final of table tennis. In the third position match, Technical Education Board Peshawar defeated the Intermediate Board Karachi  by 2-0.

Technical Officials Education and Certificate System Level–I Course concludes
SB News LAHORE:-Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) organizinged a 5-day Technical Officials Education and Certificate System (TOECS) Level – I Course in with the collaboration and support of World Armature Athletics Federation (IAAF) and Area Development Centre (ADC) Jakarta at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Coaching Centre Lahore.  Five days TOECS course concluded Sunday. The participants of course gain a lot of knowledge from this course.  On the occasion of closing ceremony of TOECS course Major Gen (Retd) Mohammad Akram Sahi, President Athletics Federation of Pakistan and Vice President Asian Athletics Association distributed the certificates among the participants of course. As many as 24 Technical Officials from all affiliated units of AFP attended the TOECS Level 1 course. Wg Cdr Pervaiz Saeed Mir has conducted this course.

Aussie music stars to open 2020 celebration
SB News ISLAMABAD:-Singer Vera Blue (Celia Pavey) has announced as one of four Australian artists set to entertain crowds as part of a spectacular pre-game celebration at the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. Blue will be joined by First Nations performer Mitch Tambo, DJ Dena Amy and Indian-born musician Harts (Darren Hart). The crowd at Sydney Showground Stadium for the blockbuster between hosts Australia and India under lights on Friday 21 February will be treated to a celebration of music, dance and cricket. The event will also be broadcast to a global TV audience. The line-up showcases a diverse mix of Australian artists and complements the earlier announcement that global pop superstar Katy Perry will perform at the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday 8 March, International Women’s Day. Vera Blue is a singer-songwriter who combines her love of folk music with moody electronica. A leading artist on the music festival circuit, Blue recently featured on the chart-topping track ‘Rushing Back’ with Australian electronic producer Flume. Mitch Tambo, a proud Gamilaraay man is renowned for his didgeridoo playing and deeply committed to his First Nations culture and the people he represents. Mitch and DJ Dena Amy will together open the celebrations, performing a traditional welcome to country as part of an energetic set. Likened to Prince and Jimi Hendrix thanks to his singular blend of funk, jazz, blues, psychedelic rock and indie electronic, Harts (Darren Hart) is the voice behind the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 campaign song, ‘You’ve Gotta Get Up and Dance’. A re-record of the ‘70s hit from English rock-band, Supercharge, the song is available on streaming platforms, including Spotify. It’s not very often you get to be performing at the opening celebration of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Inter Boards Sports Gala: Peshawar, Malakand, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur boards win hockey matches
SB News ISLAMABAD (January 12, 2020):-Peshawar, Malakand, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur boards have won their first round matches of hockey event on the second day of Pakistan Inter Board Boys Gala 2020 at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Sunday. Peshawar defeated Abbottabad in the first match 7-1, as the Yasir scored two goals while Tawheed, Saleem, Ismail and Athar scored one goal each. Zubair scored solitary goal for Abbottabad. In the second match, Malakand beat Sahiwal by 3-0. In the third match, Faisalabad beat Rawalpindi by 4-0 goals. Bahawalpur beat Larkana 3-0 in the fourth match of the day. Wasil scored 2 goals and own Abbas one goal. In the first match of football, Faisalabad defeated the Technical Education Board Peshawar by 2-1 while Board defeated Lahore 3-2 in the second match.

“Essentials of Nutrition in Sports and Fitness” a workshop at PSB
SB News ISLAMABAD:-Health Association of Nutrition and Dietetics Pakistan (HANDP) in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) organized an expert workshop on the topic of “Essentials of Nutrition in Sports and Fitness” at Jinnah Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. There were many experts and stakeholders, who discussed the seven founding pillars of Sports Nutrition. The workshop provided an extensive overview on seven topic which includes Optimizing Nutrition in Sports Performance, Sports Psychology, The Role of Super and Natural Foods on Body Development, The Synergistic effects of Nutrition and Physical activity on Mental and Organ Health, Sports Nutrition and Athletic Development, The Role of Supplements and Nutraceuticals in Sports and Fitness, Anti-Doping Regulatory Framework; The Narrow line Between use and misuse of Nutritional Supplements, and lastly, Talk on Role of Media in Sports and Fitness. Speakers who explained these topics were; RDN Ayeza Umer (HOD Clinical Nutrition Dept. Quaid e Azam International Hospital), Qurat ul Ain (Sports Psychologist Pakistan Sports Board), Rao SanaUllah (PhD UMT Lahore), Mariya Khan (Vostro World Islamabad), Waseem Ullah (CEO Ginnastic Nutrition), Mohammad Abbas (CEO Jacked Nutrition), Dr. Waqar (Chairman WADA Pakistan), and Bilal Azfar Abbasi (Health and Media Advisor). Umer Tanveer Butt Chairman Punjab Food Authority, Akbar Durrani Secretary Ministry of Inter Provisional Coordination and Amna Imran Khan Director General PSB also graced this workshop with their presence and valuable remarks. The workshop helped to raise awareness of nutrition, fitness, nutritional issues and the potential challenges ahead in the athlete’s life. This workshop provided a forum for dialogue between national regulatory authorities, students, athletes, professionals and other stakeholders. In penal discussion session questions were also raised by audience and answered by proficient speakers of health, nutrition, sports and fitness industry in the question answer session. Certificates and Suvinoirs were presented to guests and organizing team. Event concluded with the closing remarks of Abdullah Sarfraz (President Health Association of Nutrition and Dietetics Pakistan), who showed his gratitude towards the honorable guests, guest speakers, partners, participants and the organizing team. All stakeholders and respected guests appreciated this effort and assured their full support to spread such activities nationwide. Dr. Manan Haider and Mohammad Azam Dar, Dy. Director General (Tech) were also present on the occasion.

Inter Boards Boys Sports Gala 
By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (January 11, 2020):-Under the supervision of the Inter Board Sports Committee (IBSC) and Balochistan Education Board (BEB) the boys' sports gala started on Saturday at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.   Secretary Information and Broadcasting Akbar Durrani along with Director General, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Amna Imran, Professor Mohammad Yusuf Baloch Chairman Inter Board Sports Committee and Balochistan Education Board, Azam Dar, Agha Amjadullah Mohammed Ramadan Jamali Coordinator Ghulam Shabir Chana Organizing Secretary Inaugurated the Pakistan Inter Board Boys sports gala.Hockey, athletics, football, badminton, table tennis are the part of the sports gala.    In the hockey event, the education board Lahore Board, the educational board Swat, the education board Islamabad have started with wins. Epraheem scored a hatrick goal from Lahore, while Zakaria scored the only goal for Mardan. Swat defeated Karachi Intermediate Board Karachi in the second match. Abbas Ahmed scored two goals from Swat to beat 2.0.   In Badminton, Lahore Malakand Larkana Faisalabad, Mirpur Azad Kashmir and Multan won their respective matches. Malakand beat Kohat by 2-1 in the second match. In the third match, Larkana defeated Quetta 2.0 in the third match. Faisalabad defeated Dera Ghazi Khan 2-0 in the fourth match. Multan defeated Secondary Education Board Karachi 2-0 in the fifth match.  In a football match, Islamabad board defeated Quetta board with a penalty kick. Girls Sports Gala: Lahore Board claims 14 medals
By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (January 9, 2020):-Educational Board Lahore collected 14 medals including 8 gold 5 Silver and one Bronze in the Pakistan Inter Board Girls Sports Gala 2020 on the 4th day at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. Lahore Board defeated Islamabad in the hockey final by 14.0 while Gujranwala defeated Faisalabad by 3.1 in the third position play off at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium. Badminton: Intermediate Board Karachi defeated Islamabad Board 2.0 in the final while in the third position match, Abbottabad defeated Faisalabad by 2.0. Volley Ball: Islamabad beat Mirpur Kashmir in the final match of volleyball by 2.0 while Rawalpindi Board defeated Lahore by 2.0 in the third position match Athletics: In the 200m race, Lahore's Sanina took first position while Lahore's Amtal Rehman took second while Radha Tariq of Sargodha took third position. In the discus throw, Aisha Qadir of Sargodha took the first position, Islamabad Board of Asea took second position and Faisalabad's self-styled experts took third position Relay race in 400 meters 400 meters, Insa, Saman and his team of Lahore take first position, Hira, Alisha and his team from Faisalabad took second position and Sahiwal's Saba, Nuria and his team took third position. The guest of honor for the closing ceremony was Special Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee for Defense Amjad Ali Khan Niazi along with Prof. Shahid Munir Jarrar Chairman Mirpur Azad Kashmir, Agha Amjadullah Deputy Director General PSB, Mohammad Azam Dar, Deputy Director General (Tech), Mohammad Ramzan Jamali Ghulam Shabbir Channa Organizing Secretary, IBSC Makhdoom Irshad Ahmed, Ghulam Taqi Khan Bosan and Mohammad Sabir Khan were Director Sports Men, who distributed medals and prizes among the players.

Wheelchair Marathon on January 9, 2020
By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (January 7, 2020):-The wheelchair marathon race will be taken place in capital city Islamabad on January 9, 2020, said an official of organizing committee Agha Hussnain Raza on Tuesday. Pakistan Sport Council of Person with Disabilities (PSCPD) in collaboration with Saaya Association of Persons with Disabilities, Milestone, Disabled Welfare Association and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will stage this event, which will also be supported by Handicap International (HI) and UN-WOMEN. The race will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00am to 12:00Pm at F-10 Roundabout near Macdonald. The athletes from twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad will take part in the marathon race and trophies and other prizes will be distributed among the special athletes at closing ceremony.

Inter Boards sports gala starts at Sports Complex
MB Khan ISLAMABAD ( January 6, 2020):-Under the control of Inter Board Sports Committee (IBSC) and Baluchistan Education Board (BEB) the Pakistan Inter Board Sports Girls Gala started at Pakistan Sports Complex (PSC) Islamabad on Monday. Member National Assembly (MNA) and Parliament Secretary Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Saima Nadeem graced the opening ceremony as chief guest and she inaugurated the sports gale in a colourful ceremony. She said on this occasion, “Sports are very important for health and sports are also significant for girls”. Moreover, she added that it was the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan that government should make plans for the progress in the girls’ sports and promote it.  Badminton: Secondary Education Board Karachi beat Education Board Larhkana 2-0. In the second match, Educational Board Gujranwala beat Peshawar Board 2-0. Hockey: Educational Board Lahore beat Intermediate Education Board Karachi 10-0. Table Tennis: Education Board Shaiwal beat Swat Board 2-0. In second match, Punjab Technical Board Lahore beat Intermediate Karachi 2-0 and in the third match Education Board Bannu beat Secondary Board Karachi 2-0. Five games will be played in the Girls Sports Gala 2020 which games are hockey, Badminton, Table Tennis, Athletics and Wolli ball and this Championship is going to be start from 6th to 9th January, sponsored by Pakistan Sports Board.
