Qalandar Players Development Program: Over 1000 lads appear in trials

KARACHI: Over 1000 players showed their keen and reached the stadium from trials, which Lahore Qalandar started in Karachi on Friday.
According to an official, the registration started at 9 am and continued till the last minute of the trials. Due to the enthusiasm and large number of players,
Chief Executive Lahore Qalandars, Atif Rana said:
“The enthusiasm has surprised me, it wwill be unfair to the players not to extend it by one day, the enthusiasm and passion expressed by the secretary of Pakistan Hockey Federation has been proved right by seeing the number of players here, after Karachi, Lahore, Open trials will also be held in Peshawar and Quetta. Like cricket, the mission to bring heroes ahead under the Qalandar Players Development Program”.
Provincial Labor and Labor Minister Sindh Saeed Ghani said:
“Lahore Qalandar, Federation and the government are doing their work, hockey is a sport for all of us, but unfortunately it has gone too far, but I am sure that like the Lahore Qalandar cricket, hockey will also flourish. The arrival of Shaheen Shah and his colleagues has encouraged the players associated with the national game. Sindh Government supports hockey. Sindh government is going to rebuild the Abdul Sattar Hockey Stadium”.
Secretary General PHF Haider Hussain said:
“I thank Lahore Qalandar and the Sindh government. Lahore Qalandar is the last ray of hope for the revival of hockey. Qalandar talent hunt program will be held in the city, I pray that the efforts of Lahore Qalandar and Atif Rana will pay off and once again the green crescent flag will be seen the hoist in the hockey field, provincial minister Saeed Ghani in bringing Lahore Qalandar to Karachi Sindh government has an important role, if the Sindh government does not give grant and does not support hockey, then maybe no one will even mention the name of hockey”.
The trials were supervised by the Chairman of the Selection Committee of Pakistan Hockey Federation Olympian Kaleemullah and other members Olympian Nasir Ali, Olympian Shakeel Abbasi and Mohammad Naeem Khan is doing it himself.
The Lahore Qalandar team led by Shaheen Shah Afridi arrived at the KHA Sports Complex when the players gave them a warm welcome. The players described the arrival of the Lahore Qalandar team as a memorable moment for them.

WAPDA win All Pakistan Commissioner Gold Cup Hockey Tournament

MULTAN (November 27, 2022): Pakistan WAPDA have won the title of the first All-Pakistan Commissioner Gold Cup Hockey Tournament played at Multan Hockey Stadium under the supervision of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in collaboration with the District Government Multan, District Sports Department Multan and District Hockey Association Multan.
An exciting final between Army and WAPDA was quelled 1-1 in the 4 quarters. Amjad Khan of WAPDA scored the goal for his team while Mohammad Anas scored a goal for Army. Later Pakistan WAPDA won by four goals to two through a shootout.
Yasir Khursheed and Hafiz Atif Butt performed the duties of umpiring in this match. The reserve umpire was Irfan Tahir. While the technical official was Muzmal Hussain and the judges were Shafqat Malik, Mohammad Ali, Naseer, Umair, Mirza Mujahid. Waqar Younis of WAPDA declared man of the match.
Earlier, the third and fourth position play-off match was taken place between Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Pakistan Navy won 2-1. Mohammad Yasir scored both goals for Navy. While Adnan scored a goal for PAF. Waqas Butt and Zahid Hameed performed the duties of umpiring while reserve umpire was Irfan Tahir. Technical official was Javed Sadiq and the judges were Shafqat Malik, Naseer, Umeer, Munoor and Rao Nadeem.
Assistant Commissioner Multan City Khawaja Umeer, Brigadier Malik Masroor, Chaudhry Mohammad Aneeq, Director of Yakoob Soup, General Manager Royal Orchard Malik Abdul Rauf, Sheikh Mohammad Adnan of Cleaning Solution Private Limited, Al Falah were the chief guests on the occasion of the final. National Hockey team to leave for Malaysia on October 27

KARACHI: Secretary, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Haider Hussain has said that the national team would participate in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament with full preparations and try their best to produce sparkling performance.
According to media department of PHF, Haider said in his statement, “According to the instructions of President PHF Brigadier (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, all facilities are being provided to the players in the camp. We took trials of players from across the country on the basis of merit under the supervision of the PHF Selection Committee that resulted in the best combination of senior and junior players, “he added.
“Regarding the selection of players, the performance of the players in the All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Hockey Tournament held in Quetta last month came to light.PHF full selection committee chairman and members were present on this occasion. Apart from this, there was an opportunity to bring players from all over Pakistan including KPK, Sindh Punjab, Balochistan. Team will leave for Malaysia on October 27 to play the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup, where they will also play a practice match against Japan, “he said.
Pakistan Hockey Federation invites 32 players for training camp in Karachi

Islamabad:-Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has invited 32 players for the training camp, which will get underway from September 25, 2022 at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium Karachi aiming to arrange a best team for the upcoming Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament, which will be held in October this year 2022.
According to an official of PHF, all players have been instructed to report to the team manager at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium on September 25. The players who performed best in the recently concluded Chief of Army Staff Inter Club Hockey Tournament were also included in the national hockey training camp, including the best goalkeeper of the event Abdullah Sheikh, best player Osama Bashir and top scorer Ali Murtaza.
Mohammad Saeed Khan will be the team manager while Siegfried Ekman will be head coach. Ayaz Mehmood, Mohammad Usman Sheikh, Imran Butt and Mohammad Ali Khan will be the assistant coaches in the panel. Abu Zaram Rao will be the video analyst and Rana Nasrullah will be the physical trainer.
The Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup will be played in Ipoh, Malaysia from November 1 to 10. Six teams will take part in the international hockey fixture including hosts Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, South Africa and Canada.

PHF appoints Saeed Khan as national hockey team manager

Lahore:-Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced the National Senior Hockey Team Management, after the approval of the President PHF Brigadier (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.
Secretary General PHF Haider Hussain unfolded the names of the National Senior Hockey Team Management. Saeed Khan will be the manager in the management of the national senior hockey team, Siegfried Aikman, Ayaz Mehmood, Mohammad Usman Shaikh, Imran Butt and Mohammad Ali Khan will be the assistant coaches in the panel.
Abuzar umrao will be the video analyst and Rana Nasrullah will be the physical trainer. The national senior hockey training camp will be held from September 25 at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium, Karachi, in order to form and prepare the Pakistan hockey team to participate in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup to be played in Malaysia from November 1 to November 10.
Adeel Ahmed earns glory for Wah Cantt

ISLAMABAD:-Upcoming hockey player, Adeel Ahmed Awan achieved honour for his hometown Wah Cantt after representing Pakistan in the International Hockey Boards competition that were held in three different cities of Malaysia.
Adeel Ahmed Awan started to play hockey at school level and captained the school team for 5 years. He also led the college team in different hockey events. He continued to play as captain, participated in many national level championships and won various titles and medals.
After showing notable performance at school and college level, he was selected in the international hockey team that visited Malaysia.
Adeel Ahmed Awan said:
“Behind my success are the prayers of my parents, my teachers and trainers. I am grateful to my teachers, my parents and all my friends who encouraged me at every opportunity and some have helped me to this point. I will always play for my country with hard work”.
Pakistan Hockey Federation invites 36 players for physical fitness camp

LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced a 36-player physical fitness camp in Abbottabad from June 15 in preparation for the Commonwealth Games Birmingham, which will continue for two weeks. Players are directed to report Camp Commandant Olympian Khawaja Junaid. The Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8.

PHF announces Chief of Army Staff Inter-Club District Hockey Championship

LAHORE:-Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced to hold the b Chief of Army Staff Inter-Club District Hockey Championship aiming to develop and promote the national game at the grassroots
According to an official of PHF, as per PHF guidelines, all districts should hold the "Chief of Army Staff Inter-Club District Hockey Championship" at their region headquarters from May 15 to May 25. All club department players will be eligible to join the team at the event.
Special care will be taken of the age limit of the players. Players up to the age of 30 will be allowed to participate in the event. The club has at least two players aged 16 and 18. All clubs will add a minimum of 14 and a maximum of 18 players to their team. The winning team will participate at regional level event.
