Pakistani athletes lift 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze in the Imam Reza Athletics Championship

ISLAMABAD:-Pakistani athletes have lifted 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze in the 2nd Imam Reza International Athletics Championship that concluded Mashhad Iran on Monday, as Shajar Abbas and Mohammad Yasir got gold medal in their respective disciplines. Shajar also inked new national record in 200 meter race with 20.9 second.
According to an official of Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), as many as four athletes Shajar Abbas, Abdul Mueed, Sharoz Khan and Mohammad Yasir took part in the 2nd Imam Reza International Athletics Championship that held from May 29 to 30, 2022 at Mashhad, Iran.
Also, tow coaches Qazi Tanveer Hussain and Rana Sajjad Ahmad Khan accompanied the athletes. Besides hosts Iran, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan participated in the international athletics fixture.
Major General (Reted) Mohammad Akram Sahi (Retd), President AFP and Mohammad Zafar, Secretary General congratulated the winning athletes and entire athletics family of Pakistan on this achievement. The athletes won 5 medals, and got 3rd position in the tournament.

2. Mohammad Yasir (Javelin Throw) 74.83 meter (Gold)
3. Sharoz Khan (High Jump) 2.05 (Silver)
4. Abdul Mueed (400 meter) 46.73 *NNR (Silver)
5. Abdul Mueed (200 meter 21.41m (Bronze)
