Boys and Girls Blind Archery Competitions end in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI:-Blind Archery competitions were held among the Differently Abled Students held at Division Public School, Shamsabad Rawalpindi on Sunday.
According to an official, Faizan Khattak Secretary Blind Archery and Maryam Sajjad organized the event in collaboration with the Pakistan Blind Sports Federation, Rawalpindi Blind Sports Association and with Rotary Club of Rawalpindi & Proud Food Partner Cheezious.
Medals were awarded to the Boys & Girls. Medals holders were Faisal gold, Raffay silver, Mohammad Umar bronze. Girls Medals holders were Rimsha gold, Wajeeha silver and Fawad bronze.
Blind Archer Tanveer Ahmed claims bronze medal in Para Archery World Tournament

ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan’s top Blind Archer, Tanveer Ahmed has won the bronze medal in Para Archery World Ranking Event and European Cup 2022 at Nove Mesto Czech Republic.
According to an official of Blind Archery of Pakistan, Tanveer lost in semi final against Geovanni of Italy by giving tough fight of 7-3 set points. Earlier Tanveer Ahmed scored personal best 346 points in the qualification round.
Pakistan Blind Archery announces 4-man squad for European Championship

RAWALPINDI:-Pakistan Archery Federation (PAF) on Wednesday announced 4-member squad including 2 players and 2 officials to participate in the forthcoming European Cup and World Ranking Event, which are scheduled to be taken place at Nove Mesto, Czech Republic from July 1 to 10 this year 2022.
According to an official, today head of Para Archery Committee Shah Manzar Fareed announced the Pakistan blind archery team which included Tanveer Ahmed VI-2/3 Archer, Waleed Aziz VI-1 Archer, Mohammad Ijaz coach and Syed Junaid Raza Shah Manager.
European Cup and World Ranking Event will commence from 1-10 July 2022 at Nove Mesto Czech Republic. Pakistan Team will leave for the event on 1st July 2022 from Islamabad International Airport. Tanveer Ahmed from Pakistan is the current World No 2 in world blind archery rankings he had grabbed silver medal in World Championship in February 2022 at Dubai.
Tenveer claims silver medal in Para Archery World Cup

RAWALPINDI-Tanveer Ahmed from Rawalpindi has won the silver medal in the blind category of Para Archery World Cup.
According to available information from abroad, Tanveer Ahmed and Waleed Aziz of Rawalpindi participated in the three categories of the Para Archery World Cup that held in Dubai.
Tanveer Ahmed's match in the World Cup final was against Belgium's World No. 1 Rubin. Founder coach of Pakistan Blind Archery Mohammad Ijaz said that Pakistan's blind team participated in the Archery World Cup for the first time from all over Asia and Tanveer Ahmed won a silver medal.

ISLAMABAD:-Duo of Pakistani Blind archers Tanveer Ahmed and Waleed Aziz took part in the Para World Archery Para Championship 2022, as Pakistan became the first Asian nation to achieve this honour.
According to an official of Blinds’ Archery, Tanveer Ahmed took 7th while his teammate Waleed Aziz got 8th position in the Para World Archery Para Championship 2022. Tanveer Ahmed defeated Rogers Reas Evans of England by 6-2 in knock out Round while Waleed Aziz lost his match against Spain's Martin Anaya Danial by 6-4. The winner guy Tanveer Ahmed reached into quarterfinal and he will take on Matteo of Italy on February 26, 2022.
Two Pakistani players to take part in World Archery Para Championship 2022

RAWALPINDI:-A squad of 2 players and 1 official will visit Dubai, United Arabs Emirates (UAE) to participate in the World Archery Para Championship 2022, scheduled to be taken place Dubai February 21 to 27, 2022.
According to an official, duo of guys including Tanveer Ahmed and Waleed Aziz along with their coach Mohammad Ijaz will represent Pakistan in the World Archery Para Championship. Regarding the preparations, the final phase of training camp will be held from Monday 1-15 February 2022 at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex Rawalpindi.
World Archery: Executive board approves international license for 2022
Lausanne, Switzerland (SB Report):-World Archery’s executive board gathered at the World Archery Excellence Centre, with some members joining remotely, for its end-of-year meeting on 5 December 2022.
The headline news was the awarding of the 2025 World Archery Championships and World Archery Congress to the Korean city of Gwangju. The city will also replace Shanghai as host of the Asian stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in 2022, while Winnipeg in Canada now has the 2025 World Archery Youth Championships.
World Archery president Prof Dr Ugur Erdener said that “the opportunity to compete against the world’s best, once again on their own turf, will be a dream for many athletes”.
There were a number of other decisions aimed at the continued professionalisation of events, including the launch of the international license programme in 2022.
The license, which will cost 100 CHF per year, will be mandatory for all athletes competing at tournaments with world ranking status and comes with comprehensive medical and travel insurance.
Future plans include a benefits programme for license holders and greater input into their athlete data.
Following the positive progress made in the level of world ranking events in 2021, a 500 CHF late fee has been introduced for any applications received after the deadline (six months prior to the event). This should encourage proper planning of the calendar, which is now scheduled using the international block system.
World ranking events will now also be liable for a 780 CHF fee covering anti-doping administration.
Mandatory equipment inspection has been removed from stages of the Hyundai Archery World Cup alongside the introduction of a single combined practice session. Athletes will be able to optionally attend inspection during the period, with random spot checks during the event for those who do not.
Bylaws to remove equipment failure stoppages, increase the maximum number of international judges to 80, and clarify the new 30-second-per-arrow time limit were accepted.
There was a long discussion on the implications of the new timing, which had already been accepted as a bylaw by the board during its meeting after congress, and its application at national tournaments.
Ultimately, it was decided to keep the new 30-second rule for all world ranking events in 2022. (Para world ranking events will be remaining at 40 seconds.)
At the same time, there will be further guidance issued on the rule’s caveat, which states that the timing can be extended back to 40 seconds under certain circumstances, aimed at national events ahead of the outdoor season.
President Prof Dr Ugur Erdener said: “At the end of an important year for our great sport, from its return after the pandemic hiatus to an exceptional Olympic archery competition, it’s exciting to come with yet more good news.”
“The ambition in Gwangju’s bid for the World Archery Championships mirrors Korea’s competitive ability in the arena while committing to a lasting legacy for the sport at the grassroots level. And the opportunity to compete against the world’s best, on their own turf once again, will be a dream for many athletes.”
“At the same time, we’re continuing to take a sustainable approach to progress at events of all levels, working with organisers and archers to innovate and continue to drive improvement for the sport.”
Archery training workshop for Boys Scouts and Girls Guides

Islamabad (October 3, 2021):-A-day archery training workshop for boys scouts and girls guides held on Saturday at Scouts Headquarter Islamabad.
International qualified archery coach, Main Nasir Mehmood trained the young male and female aiming to give them self-defense education to overcome challenges during the scouting. He taught the basic skills of the game practically.
Coach, Nasir Mehmood said that over 200 boys and 50 girls took part in the training session. “The boys and girls from all four provinces Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber PakhtunKawa and Punjab participated in the workshop.
Blind Archery: Waleed and Tanveer earn top positions

Rawalpindi (October 2, 2021):-Local guys, representing Rawalpindi District Blind’s Archery Association (RDBAA), Waleed Aziz and Tanveer Ahmed earned top positions in the VI-1 & VI-2 Categories in the All Pakistan Blind Archery Championship 2021 that concluded at Liaquat Baugh Mini Sports Complex on Saturday.
In 18m (36 Arrows) VI-1 Catagory Waleed Aziz from Rawalpindi grabbed gold with 255 points, Najeebullah from Gilgit silver and Sabtain from Mardan bronze medal. In VI-2 Category competitions, local player Tanveer Ahmed won gold with 265 points. Mohammad Usman from Rawalpindi took silver and Junaid from Multan took bronze Medal. While in Youngsters Category, Farwa from Rawalpindi lifted gold, Usama from Charsada and Abdur Rehman from Faisalabad got silver and bronze medals respectively.
The Championship was organized by Rawalpindi District Blind Archery Association in Collaboration with District Sports Department Rawalpindi. As many as 25 male and female archers from Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Kashmir, Peshawar, Mardan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Quetta and Karachi participated in this mega event.
Chief guest Mohammad Shafi distributed medals and certificates among the players.
All Pakistan Blind Archery Championship 2021 starts in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi (October 1, 2021):-All Pakistan Blind’s Archery Championship 2021 started on Friday at Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex Rawalpindi. The championship was inaugurated by Pioneer of Blind’s Archery in Asia Mohammad Ijaz.
The Championship is being organized by Rawalpindi District Blind Archery Association in collaboration with District Sports Department of Rawalpindi. Around 25 male and female archers from Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Kashmir, Peshawar, Mardan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Quetta and Karachi are participating in the championship.
Three of the short listed blind archers included Tanveer Ahmed, Waleed Aziz and Mohammad Usman for World Archery Para Ranking Championship 2022 are also participating in this event.
