Adani Sportsline’s Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park Is Open

The Sports Park hopes to inspire and bring out the best of talent from Gujarat, with the facilities designed to support and encourage the sporting culture and also a healthier and fitter lifestyle.The Sports Park, for which Adani Sportsline won the rights after an intense bidding, was inaugurated today, on the 2nd of September, by Sh Kiritbhai Parmar, Hon’ble Mayor, in the august presence of Shri Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises; Smt. Mithali Raj, Former Captain, Indian Women Cricket; Shri Arunsinh Rajput, Whip Municipal Ruling Party; Shri Bhaskarbhai Bhatt, Leader Municipal Ruling Party; Shri Hitesh Barot, Chairman, St. Committee; Shri Kaushikbhai Jain, MLA; Shri Amitbhai P. Shah, MLA; Shri Surendrabhai Patel, Chariman, SRFDCL Project; Dr. Kiritbhai Solanki, M.P.; Shri M. Thennarsan, Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad; Shri Keshav Varma, IAS (Rtd.), Chairman, SRFDCL; Smt. Gitaben Patel, Dy. Mayor; and Shri Rajeshkumar Dave, Chairman, Recreation Cultural and Heritage Committee.The Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park, which is open to one and all, houses designated jogging tracks, gymnasium and children’s playing areas, apart from housing multiple cricket pitches, and courts for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and tennis. Also, skating rinks with skateboards will be available to visitors and learners. The Sports Park encourages widespread participation in sports by offering accessible opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds through an option to book a slot and enjoy the game.The Sports Park will have various academies that will help introduce kids, who are between the ages of 5 and 7, to a variety of sports. The youngsters will then be allowed to pick their preferred sports, with the decisions based on their abilities, interests and aptitude, and specifically designed scientific training methods, with a special focus on strength and conditioning. This process is designed to help discover sporting talent in the city and the state so that they can then be fast-tracked to more suitable programs for further development.Mithali Raj said: “The Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park is a fantastic initiative, and it is great to see Adani Sportsline step in and take charge. Riyadh 2023 World Combat Games: Paralympic Sports events added

This progressive decision continues the Kingdom’s succession of unprecedented milestones, which includes its distinction as the first Middle Eastern country to host the esteemed World Combat Games.Scheduled to take place from October 20 to 30 at the King Saud University Arena Complex, the Riyadh 2023 World Combat Games has already begun to see Paralympians with physical, intellectual and visual impairments qualify to compete in their respective divisions of Aikido, Muaythai, Armwrestling, Ju-Jitsu, Sambo and Savate.Having acquired substantial interest within the martial arts community, more than 1,700 elite combat athletes from over 80 countries will compete in this year’s World Combat Games. Silver medalist Pakistan Street Children Football players arrive in Islamabad
Chairman of Muslim Hands Pir Syed Lakht Hasnain vows to support Street Children Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Muslim Hands, Pir Syed Lakht Hasnain vowed to continue full support of the Pakistan Street Children Football Team, which won silvers medals in the Norway Cup 2023, as well as to establish football academies in the country to uplift the standard of soccer in Pakistan. Muslim Hands would also give education, and recognition to other unknown street children.The silver medal team arrived here on Monday at Islamabad International Airport and were warmly welcomed by the local players, parents of the boys, and officials of Muslim Hands, Later, in the afternoon the players visited the National Press Club (NPC) to attend the ceremony that was held in their honour.Chairman of Muslim Hands Pir Syed Lakht Hasnain said:“Pakistan team earned the second position in the tournament, which is a great honour for Pakistan. Muslim Hands managed all the needs of players to make them international players. We selected the players from all over the country on merit. Our coach Rasheed Ahmed did not compromise on merit and picked up the squad after a strict process. We hold camps all over Pakistan. We are satisfied with the performance of the players, as the Pakistan team scored 28 goals in the tournament and conceded only three goals”.“Although, our young guys were well prepared for the event and they toiled hard in the camp in the dog days of June/July, however, they were not familiar with playing in European conditions, as the pitches were wet in some matches. It was difficult for our players to give a hundred percent in such type of weather. We are happy with the team’s results. We claimed second position three times back-to-back, as we were runner-ups in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, and were third in 2024 in Brazil.”“During the tournament, the excitement was visible in the Pakistani community in Norway, due to the excellent performance of our team, Norwegians also became fans of the Pakistani team and were supporting our lads. I came from England to welcome the team. A total of eight matches were played in the cup, seven of which were won by the Pakistani team, while only in the final match Pakistani team played brilliantly throughout the match and finally lost on penalty kicks.”Captain Tufail Shamari said:“Our team played well in the tournament and we lost the final of penalty kicks, as the match was leveled 1-1 during the regular time. Our team went 0-1, and I scored a goal to bounce back in the gold medal battle. However, our luck was not good and we lost the final after 10 penalty kicks in the sudden death phase. We were provided nice facilities during the trip and being a leader of the Green Shirts I am pleased with the players’ performances. Our player Asad Nasir from Islamabad got the award of the best defender of the tournament, which is a great respect and honour for the whole nation.”

Action-packed 10 days of Games set to unfold in October at the King Saud UniversitySports Bulletin ReportRiyadh (Saudi Arabia): The Organising Committee of the Riyadh 2023 World Combat Games has confirmed the schedule for the upcoming tournament (20- 30 October). This occasion represents a significant milestone as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia earns the distinction of being the first Middle Eastern nation to host the esteemed multi-sport games.The event, taking place at the Sports Arena at King Saud University in Riyadh, will welcome over 2,500 male and female athletes from more than 80 countries. The tournament will kick-off with Boxing, Karate and Sambo bouts on the 20th and 21st of October. Sumo and Wushu competitions will take place from the 21st and 22nd October, with Judo matches lined up for the 23rd. Belarus Ambassador Andrei Metelitsa calls on Minister IPC Ehsan Mazari

Federal Secretary Ahmad Hanif Orakzai and Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Shoaib Khoso were also present on this occasion.According to an official of IPC, in a significant move to deepen bilateral relations and foster sports ties, the Ambassador of Belarus, Andrei Metelitsa paid a diplomatic visit to Minister for IPC on Thursday. During his visit, Ambassador expressed his desire to explore paths of collaboration between the two nations.In a meeting, an invitation was extended by Ambassador on behalf of the Belarusian Minister for Sports and Tourism Sergey Kovalchak to Pakistan's Minister of IPC along with his team for participation in the forthcoming games of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)/Non-CIS Countries from August 4 to 14, 2023 this year. The CIS Games, renowned for their celebration of sportsmanship and solidarity, have evolved into a prominent platform for athletes from participating countries to showcase their skills and nurture friendly competition.The Federal Minister conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Ambassador for the invitation to participate in the prestigious CIS Games. He also told the ambassador that a 16-member team from Pakistan will participate in the categories of boxing, swimming, karate, and wrestling at the 2nd edition of CIS Games in Belarus.The discussion extended beyond the CIS Games, encompassing broader avenues of cooperation. They both exchanged their desires to explore opportunities for collaboration in various sports including football, hockey, wrestling, and tennis. Pakistan to participate in World Scrabble Championship 2023
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: The Pakistan team for the World Scrabble Championship (WESPAC) 2023 was announced today (Monday), as the championship will be played at Westgate Resort, Las Vegas in the USA from 22nd to 25th July. About 300 of the world's finest players are expected to take partAccording to an official, Tariq Pervez will lead the team that comprises Pakistan's No. 1 Waseem Khatri, Mohammad Inayatullah, Hassan Hadi Khan, Hammad Hadi Khan and Hasham Hadi Khan, as the four of Pakistan's top players cannot participate because they could not obtain the visa on time.The championship played every two years has reserved seats for the world youth champions of the last two years. The winners guys of the 2021 and 2022 World Youth Championship were both from Pakistan (Syed Imaad Ali and Ali Salman) but the youngsters were unable to participate due to their tough study schedule.Team leader Tariq Pervez expressed disappointment at the loss of key players ahead of the world championship but hoped that the remaining players would still do well as four of the five players had won international tournaments in the past.
Over 100 boys and girls participate in self-defence training camp
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Sports Board Punjab’s expert coaches, as per directions of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, continued to train young athletes in different games in Summer Camps being organised at Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Monday.Hundreds of boys and girls took part in wushu, karate, taekwondo, self-defence and badminton summer camps on Monday under the supervision of qualified coaches. Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan also visited Nishtar Park Sports Complex and witnessed the proceedings of different summer camps.Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail in a statement on Monday directed the coaches and trainers to put special emphasis on the physical and mental fitness and diet of young athletes during the summer camps. “Top level fitness always plays a key role in the success of players in their respective games,” he added.Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that these mega summer camps are being conducted with an aim to engage thousands of young boys and girls in healthy sports activities during their summer vacations. “Holding of summer camps is the best way to save our younger generation from the negative effects of mobile phones and electronic gadgets,” he maintained.

Bodybuilding News: SABBA elects Sohail Anwar its vice president

Sohail Anwar won the Vice President seat for the next four years. Sohail Anwar said that becoming the Vice President of South Asian Bodybuilding was an honor for him as well as for Pakistan. India's Prashant Apte has been elected as the president of the South Asian Bodybuilding Association for the next four years.
