National Juniors Tennis: Two titles each for Ahtesham, Abdur Rehman
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Two titles each for Ahtesham Humayun (SNGPL) and Abdur Rehman (SICAS) in the Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2023 that concluded at Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah Lahore on Saturday. SNGPL’s Ahtesham Humayun played outstanding tennis against Mahatir Mohammad of Karachi to win the boys U-18 final by 6-3, 7-5. The final was a treat to watch as both the players exhibited their prowess throughout the final and displayed outstanding tennis skills and techniques, but Ahtesham held his nerves and succeeded in winning the thrilling encounter by 6-3, 7-5. “I worked really during this event and now I am looking forward to represent my country in ATF, and ITF junior events.” In the boys U-16 finals, Ahtesham Humayun continued to shine and succeeded in completing the brace of titles after thrashing young Asad Zaman by 6-1, 6-0. In the boys Under-18 doubles final, Mahatir Mohammad/Asad Zaman got w/o against Ahtesham Humayun/M Salaar. In the boys U-14 final, Hamza Ali Rizwan beat Amir Mazari 2-6, 6-4, 13-11 to clinch the title. In the boys U-14 doubles final, Amir Mazari and Nabeel Qayum beat Zohaib Afzal Malik and Hamza Ali Rizwan 5-3, 3-5, 10-6. In the boys/girls U-12 final, Abdur Rehman (AAA Associates) beat Razik Sultan 4-0, 4-2. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles finals, SICAS’ Abdur Rehman/Hajra beat Shayan Afridi/Junaid Khan 5-3, 4-0. Bilal Asim wins second title in a row of ATF Under-16
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Upcoming tennis guy, Bilal Asim claimed second back-to-back Asian Under-16 Tennis title after defeating Asad Zaman in the Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd ATF Under-16 Asian Tennis Tour 2022 Leg-2 final here at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Thursday. In the boys U-16 final, Bilal Asim, brilliant student of coach Rashid Malik, outclassed Asad Zaman, another student of coach Rashid Malik, with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Bilal dominated the title clash right from the word go as he never allowed his opponent to play freely and maintained his supremacy till the last point to win the final by 6-0, 6-1, thus claiming the second successive Asian U-16 title. Bilal Asim completed the brace of Asian U-16 titles, when he, partnering with Ahtesham Humayun (Crescent School), played well against Hamid Israr/Hamza Roman and edged out the spirited pair by 7-5, 7-6 to win the boys U-16 doubles final. In the position matches, Sheheryar Anees outlasted Amir Mazari 6-4, 6-0, M Salaar outclassed Taimoor Khan 6-1, 6-1, Nabeel Qayum toppled Aized Khalil 6-2, 6-1, Hamid Israr thumped Kashan Tariq 6-2, 6-1. Meanwhile, Nabeel Qayum of Islamabad thrashed Abdur Rehman 6-0 to win the boys/girls U-14 title in the Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022. Nabeel displayed high quality tennis skill and techniques and didn’t allow his opponent Abdur Rehman to score a single point to win the boys/girls U-14 final by 6-0. Nabeel also completed the brace of titles when he, partnering with Abdur Rehman (SICAS) hammered the pair of Bismel Zia/Hajra Suhail by 6-1 in the boys/girls U-14 doubles final. In the boys/girls U-12 final, Abdur Rehman (AAA Associates) beat Hajra 6-1. In the boys/girls U-10 final, Hajra Suhail (AAA Associates) beat Mustafa Uzair Rana 6-2. In the boys/girls U-8 final, Ayan Shahbaz grabbed the gold medal, Ehsan Bari silver and Daniyal Afzal bronze medal. In the boys/girls U-6 final, Mamnoon Bari bagged the gold medal, Shahreen Omer silver, Hafsa Sohail bronze medal. Tariq Zaman, CEO Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd, was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony and he, along with, PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) distributed prizes among the winners. Sindh Tennis Association SVP Khalid Rehmani, former PTF SVP Col Asif Dar (R), Ashfaq Chohan, players, their families and tennis enthusiasts were also present on this occasion. ATF Under-16 Asian Tennis Tour Leg-2: Bilal, Asad jump into finals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Bilal Asim and Asad Zaman moved into the finals of Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd ATF Under-16 Asian Tennis Tour 2022 (Leg-2) here at Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Wednesday. In the boys U-16 first semifinal, Bilal Asim (SICAS) continued his good show in the Leg-2 as well as he earlier won the ATF U-16 Leg-1 title in a great style. Bilal played outstanding tennis against Hamid Israr and comfortably won the crucial encounter by identical scores of 6-2 and 6-2.  The second semifinal of the Asian tennis event saw Asad Zaman (of Ali Embroidery Mills) overpower Kashan Tariq by 6-0, 6-2. Asad started tremendously in the first set and didn’t allow his opponent to earn a single point to win it 6-0. Kashan did make his presence felt in the second set, but Asad once again played aggressively and took the set 6-2 to set the final clash against Bilal Asim.  Both Bilal Asim and Asad Zaman are the brilliant students of coach and mentor Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), who has a great honor of producing a good number of national and international tennis players, who are serving the country in great styles. Both Bilal and Asad are not only shining in the national events but also doing well in the ATF tournaments. Bilal recently won the ATF U-16 leg and now both the students of Malik will be vying for the title in today’s (Thursday) clash. In the position matches played here on Wednesday, Ahtesham Humayun did well against Hamza Roman and comfortably won the position match by 6-0, 6-3. Shehryar Anees also claimed the position by toppling Mohammad Salaar 6-0, 6-1. Nabeel Qayum also shone in the event by outpacing Hamza Rehmat 6-2, 6-3.  Amir Khan Mazari also claimed the position by thumping Taimoor Khan 6-2, 6-1. In the match for third/fourth position, Sheheryar Anees beat Hussnain Ali Rizwan 7-5, 6-4, for the fifth/sixth position match, Ahtesham Humayun beat Salaar Khan 6-3, 6-2, for the seventh/eighth position match, Amir Khan Mazari beat Ibrahim Ashraf 6-2, 6-4, for ninth/10th position, Asad Zaman beat Nabeel Qayum 6-1,6-3 while for the 11th/12th position match, Sameer Zaman beat M Sohaan Noor 7-6, 6-1.  Meanwhile in Kamran Steel Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022, the competitions were held in different age group categories. ATF U16 Asian Tennis: Haider, Bilal reach singles final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Haider Ali Rizwan will face Bilal Asim in the final of the Kamran Steel ATF Under-16 Asian Tennis Tour 2022 (Leg-1) here at Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy Nishtar Park Sports Complex. On Thursday, the semifinals of the boys U-16 were decided. In the first semifinal, Haider Ali Rizwan of LGS Paragon overwhelmed Sheheryar Anees by 6-4, 6-1. Haider faced tough resistance from his opponent in the first set but after leveling the score at 4-all, he settled down and won the next two points in a row to win it 6-4. He dominated the second set right from the word go and comfortably took it by 6-1 to book berth in the final. Rising star Bilal Asim was another player, who set the final clash against Haider, after defeating spirited Hussnain Ali Rizwan by 7-6, 6-0. In the U-16 position matches, Asad Zaman (Ali Embroidery Mills) had to struggle hard to edge out talented Sameer Zaman by 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 while Muhammad Salaar also faced tough resistance from M Ibraheem Ashraf before winning the crucial match by 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Nabeel Qayum did well against M Sohaan Noor and outpaced him by 6-1, 7-5 while Abdullah Pirzada outsmarted Taimoor Ansari by 6-2, 6-3. In the boys U-16 doubles semifinals, Bilal Asim and Ahtesham Humayun made their presence felt by outlasting the pair of Sameer Zaman and Amir Mazari 6-1, 6-1. Bilal/Ahtesham were in sublime form and started well against their opponents, thus comfortably winning the first set 6-1 and the second with the same score of 6-1 to earn a place in the final. The second finalist pair was of Hussnain Ali Rizwan and Haider Ali Rizwan, who proved too hot for Ashraf and Nabeel Qayum and trounced them by a huge margin of 6-0, 6-0. In the Kamran Steel Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022, Abdullah Pirzada and Taimoor Ansari qualified for the boys/girls U-14 semifinals. Abdullah Pirzada played well against Nabeel Qayum and thumped him by 6-2 while Taimoor Ansari had to struggle hard to brush aside Abdur Rehman (SICAS) by 7-5. In the Boys Under-16 quarterfinals, Bilal Asim, a student of renowned coach Rashid Malik, took little time to brush aside Ibrahim Ashraf by 6-0, 6-1. Bilal vowed to do well in the remaining matches saying he will try his best to win the Asian Ranking Tennis title. He also thanked his coach Rashid Malik for his guidance and coaching, which is helping him excel at Asian level.
