Exhibition polo match: Lexington Club and Lahore Club play a 5-5 draw
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: An exhibition match between Lexington Polo Club of Kentucky and Lahore Polo Club played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Wednesday and after a tough competition, the enthralling encounter ended in a 5-5 draw.This was the first match of the two exhibition match series that is the part of the ongoing Lipton Polo Cup 2023. From team Lexington Polo Club, William G Boland and Jorge Antonio Vasquez contributed with two goals each while Michael Lawrence Frank struck the remaining one goal. From Lahore Polo Club team, Alman Jalil Azam and Faisal Shehzad converted two goals each while Taimur Mawaz pumped in the remaining one. The second exhibition match will be played on Saturday.Meanwhile, on the other hand, two important matches will be played in Lipton Polo Club today (Thursday). The players of the visiting American team met President Lahore Polo Club Malik Azam Hayat Noon and executive committee members of the club, and expressed their delight of playing at such a historic polo ground. “We have come here from America to play polo on the invitation of Lahore Polo Club. It's great to be here and play polo on a historic polo ground,” they added.

Nasir Dar and Anusha Anil win the titles of men's deaf, and women’s deaf Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: Nasir Dar and Anusha Anil have won the titles of men's deaf, and women’s deaf respectively while Shahid Ansari claimed the Media Event title of the Pakistan Open Tenpin Bowling Championship, which was rolled into action at Royal Rodale Bowling Club DHA Karachi on Wednesday. President, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF), Ijaz ur Rehman was the chief guest and inaugurated the 6-days event. Senior vice President, PTBF Khawaja Ahmed Mustaqeen, President, Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association, Aleem Agha and a large number of peoples were also present on the occasion.Results (Men's Deaf):Nasir Dar won deaf men's event while Fahad and Ahmed Khan obtained 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Women' deaf:Anusha Anil got first position in the deaf women's event while Erum and Benish Munir finished 2nd and 3rd position.Media Event:Shahid Ansari won the Media Event while Sibte Hassan and Javed Iqbal obtained 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Around 200 men and women players are taking part in the nine different categories, including open singles, amateur, ladies, under-22, senior, media, doubles, deaf and mixed team.

Pakistan won second position with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 7 bronze medals, while the Kazakhstan team came third with 1 gold and 4 silver medals.In the women's event of the championship, Kazakhstan came first with 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, Great Britain came second with 1 gold and 2 silver medals whereas Iran came third with 1 gold and 1 silver medal.In the prize distribution ceremony of the championship, the distinguished guests were the President of the Asian Taekwondo Union Prof. Kyu Seok Lee, Squash legend Jahangir Khan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Nepal Tapas Adhikaw, President of PTF. Colonel (retd) Waseem Janjua, Technical Delegate of the Championship Kook Hyun Jung, and CEO Umar Saeed distributed the prizes.Earlier, on the last day of the 5th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship Kyorugi event, four different weight category competitions were held. In the men's -58kg final, Kazakhstan's Zhavokhirkhon Islamov performed brilliantly and won the gold medal by defeating Lev Korneev of Serbia 2-1 in an interesting match. Mohammad Nadhim of Iraq won the bronze medal while Samikhon of Kazakhstan won the fourth bronze.In the men's -80kg category finals, Korea's Geon-Woo Seo won 2-0 against Serbia's Rustam Odinaev to win Gold while Iraq's Saif Taher Habeeb won the bronze, while Pakistan's Mazhar Abbas won the fourth.In the women's -62 kg category final, Serbia's Nadja Savkpvic won gold with a 2-1 victory over Pakistan's Zoya Sabir, while Pakistan's Sara Rehman and Hajra Shakeel took bronze and fourth respectively. In the women's +73 category final, Kazakhstan's Cansel Deniz won 2-0 against Pakistan's Manisha Ali. Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Team Remounts clinched the coveted title of the 10th Shah Rafi Alam Polo Cup 2023, defeating Team FG/Din Polo by a score of 9-5 in an electrifying finale at the Lahore Polo Club ground.The event witnessed a significant turnout of enthusiastic spectators, including families and polo aficionados who gathered at the Lahore Polo Club to witness this thrilling polo spectacle. Mrs. Tamiz Alam, the esteemed chief guest and wife of the late Gen Shah Rafi Alam, graced the occasion with her presence. Haider Malik of United Bank Limited, Azam Hayat Noon, the President of the Lahore Polo Club, executive committee members, Gen Shah Rafi Alam's family, and many polo enthusiasts joined in to enjoy the high-quality polo showcased during the finals. The day's festivities also included a classic car parade and an archery competition.The main final lived up to its reputation as an enthralling encounter. After a hard-fought battle, Team Remounts emerged victorious with a final score of 9-5. The Argentinian sensation, Abelenda, representing Team Remounts, displayed exceptional prowess by scoring impressive six goals. His teammates, including Mohammad Naeem, Shahid Imran, and Hamza Iqbal, contributed with one goal each. On the opposing side, Juan Cruz Greguol led the charge for FG/Din Polo with a remarkable hat-trick, while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Mian Abbas Mukhtar each scored one goal.In the subsidiary final, Team Diamond Paints registered a 9-6½ victory over DS/Sheikhoo Steel. Raja Temur Nadeem showcased outstanding performance by firing four incredible goals for Diamond Paints. Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Saqib Khan Khakwani added to the tally with three and two goals, respectively. For DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel, which held a half-goal handicap advantage, Nicholas Roberts stood out with five goals, while Lt Col Omer Minhas scored one goal.

Also, Hamza Saeed grabbed silver, Haroon Khan and Rafia Abdul Samad won bronze medals.On the second day of the Kyorugi event, in the men's -54 kg final, Pakistan's Shahzaib Khan showed a brilliant performance against Saudi Arabia’s Riad Hamdi to win the Gold medal while Pakistan's Tanzeel Hasnat won the bronze, compatriot Abubakar Siddique got the 4th bronze.In the men's -63 kg category final, Afghanistan's Mohsin Raza won 2-0 against Saudi Arabia's Mohammad Zakariya. Pakistan's Haroon Khan won the bronze while Pakistan's Nouman Khan won the fourth bronze.In the men's +87 kg final, Afghanistan's Ali Akber Amiri defeated Pakistan's Hamza Umar Saeed 2-1 after an exciting and thrilling contest. Egypt's Mohammad Ali won the bronze and Kuwait's Ali Hameed Hassan won the fourth bronze.In the women's -46 category final, Kazakhstan's Nargiza Koishybekova won the gold medal by defeating her compatriot Aidana Yedilbayeva 2-0. In the women's -53kg final, Iran's Nahid Kiyani won the gold medal by winning 2-0 against her compatriot Mobina Nimatzadeh.
